Chapter 1010: Chapter 936: Giving Water

"Why the hell are you crying? I asked you—weren’t you supposed to be sent away? Why did you come back? Are you looking for death?"

Ye Qingfeng’s gaze didn’t waver at all as he spoke in a cold tone.

Currently, his strength was insufficient to protect Shui Yiyi.

He only wanted to use cold words to drive her away.

Shui Yiyi didn’t get angry; instead, she smiled through her tears and said, "I’m sorry... I, I was just scared something might happen to you. I heard from Su Yingxin that you fell off a cliff, so I wanted to see you."

"Now that you’ve seen me, can you leave? We were never really meant for the same world."

Ye Qingfeng’s words instantly turned Shui Yiyi’s face pale.

Shui Yiyi had imagined a thousand possibilities for their meeting.

Maybe Ye Qingfeng would be resolute.

But hearing his words left her momentarily stunned.

"We were never meant for the same world."

This sentence almost placed Shui Yiyi in an icebox, chilled to the bone; he never really cared about her.

Shui Yiyi stood there, dumbfounded, entirely devoid of the joy she felt upon first seeing Ye Qingfeng.

"Alright, stop talking nonsense and leave now."

Ye Qingfeng stood upright, speaking indifferently.

Shui Yiyi felt a pang in her heart; Ye Qingfeng was so cold now.

The warmth of the past had turned into sharp blades, piercing her heart.

"Ye Qingfeng, I’m sorry... I, I wanted to save you. I thought..."

Shui Yiyi said hesitantly.

She had traveled for two days and nights, traversing through the impermeable Primordial Forests of the West, overcoming her inner fears, braving countless dangers, only to end up with such a conclusion.

Her face looked worn, her originally elegant features marred with dirt, her clothes in tatters, visible blood scratches on her skin.

Tears welled up again, adding to the heartbreak of this beautiful woman, one whom any man would feel protective of.

Ye Qingfeng’s expression remained indifferent as he said, "Do you really think I need saving? Leave, now—get out of here!"

"Ye Qingfeng..."

"Go!"

As soon as Shui Yiyi began speaking, Ye Qingfeng interrupted with a cold, harsh voice.

Shui Yiyi gently bit her lip; she believed that even if Ye Qingfeng ignored her and had no further connection with her, she could accept it calmly.

But facing this reality now, the feeling in her heart was so painful.

Shui Yiyi remained silent.

She felt deeply sorrowful; the pain cut to the bone, making it hard for her to breathe.

She just watched Ye Qingfeng—this man’s expression serene, devoid of any visible emotions.

Shui Yiyi’s tear-stained and delicate state would break anyone’s heart, but Ye Qingfeng remained unmoved.

Shui Yiyi knew—everything was over now.

Finally, she lifted her foot and walked straight ahead until she brushed past Ye Qingfeng.

"I’m sorry for bothering you."

As she passed by Ye Qingfeng, Shui Yiyi quietly left that remark.

Without any hesitation, she continued walking, both turning their backs to each other without glancing back.

After walking some distance, Shui Yiyi could no longer hold back, tears cascaded down her face.

Shui Yiyi cried her heart out, while the sky had already brightened.

Suddenly, an intuition struck Shui Yiyi—something seemed odd about the earlier scene.

Ye Qingfeng’s demeanor seemed peculiar; he stood so straight that he appeared strange.

A sense of unease crept into her heart, leading her to consider a possibility. She wiped her tears and abruptly turned to run back.

When Shui Yiyi returned to the spot, her heart ached intensely because she clearly saw a frail figure lying there.

Unable to contain herself, she hurriedly ran to the place and crouched down to cradle Ye Qingfeng’s head.

Ye Qingfeng’s face was pale as paper, devoid of any color, his eyes shut peacefully.

"Ye Qingfeng!" Shui Yiyi cried out in heartache.

He had fallen from such a high cliff; even if he were extraordinarily skilled to survive, it must have been a miracle—not as unscathed as it seemed.

Surely, he sustained severe injuries, wanting to spare her from trouble, thus trying to push her away.

Looking at Ye Qingfeng’s pale face, Shui Yiyi was heart-wrenched to see this man act in his usual independent manner, never explaining himself to anyone.

Yet she could not bring herself to resent him—only endless heartache ensued.

Shui Yiyi rested her head against Ye Qingfeng’s chest; thankfully, he still had a heartbeat—Ye Qingfeng was alive.

Shui Yiyi’s cheeks blushed slightly; Ye Qingfeng’s shirt was thin, allowing her to feel the warmth of his chest—a gesture reminiscent of cuddling in his embrace.

However, this was no time for embarrassment. Noticing Ye Qingfeng’s cracked lips, Shui Yiyi understood immediately.

Ye Qingfeng must have been severely injured, losing too much blood, making him extremely dehydrated now.

Luckily, Shui Yiyi had some fresh water left; she opened the bottle to pour the water into Ye Qingfeng’s mouth.

Ye Qingfeng’s mouth was tightly shut, causing the water to run down his lips.

Without hesitation, Shui Yiyi poured the water into her mouth and leaned towards Ye Qingfeng’s pale face and chapped lips.

Ye Qingfeng’s lips tightly closed; using her petite tongue, she gently pried open his lips and teeth, allowing the fresh water to flow into his throat.

Suddenly, Shui Yiyi felt Ye Qingfeng’s tongue move slightly; their tongues gently touched.

Shui Yiyi’s body felt electrified, quickly breaking away from Ye Qingfeng’s lips, lifting her upper body.

Her exquisite classical face flushed with heat; sneaking a glance at Ye Qingfeng—this man was in a deep sleep—they assuredly eased her mind.

Shui Yiyi’s beautiful crimson-tinted cheeks resembled a serene landscape painting enhanced with a touch of brilliance, making them irresistibly cute and charming.

Unfortunately, this scene was unseen by the unconscious Ye Qingfeng.

Looking at Ye Qingfeng’s lips, Shui Yiyi somehow yearned for their prior contact.

Her heart fluttered as she pondered whether she should give Ye Qingfeng more water.

Shui Yiyi examined Ye Qingfeng; the man was still deep in a slumber, with a pale face and seemingly parched lips.

"Then I’ll give him a bit more!" Shui Yiyi thought to herself.

She blushed, feeling like she was finding excuses to kiss Ye Qingfeng.

Thinking thus felt as though she were sneakily benefiting from him.

Taking a sip of water into her mouth, Shui Yiyi attempted to feed Ye Qingfeng again, when she suddenly felt her head throb, her vision blurring.

Shui Yiyi sensed her head growing heavy, then abruptly fell onto Ye Qingfeng.

Though Ye Qingfeng was asleep, his consciousness remained acute.

Thus he perceived someone feeding him water earlier, prompting his tongue to move slightly; unfortunately, after drinking but a sip of water, he felt a body collapse onto him.
