Rebirth: Love in the Apocalypse-Chapter 103: Arms
Chapter 103: Arms
Before going to rescue the kids, Mo Chenxuan removed a prefab dormitory from his storage space and placed it in the inner side of the villa compound.
At this time, team Legends, the Zhang’s and the eight children entered the modular dormitory.
"You will live here from now on. Do you like it?" Lin Rongrong asked, looking at the children.
"Can we really live here?" One of the children asked with an uncertain expression.
After all, they hadn’t been living well since the apocalypse began.
Hearing that they could each have a room, with a bed, a desk, a chair, and a wardrobe, they were momentarily confused and afraid of accepting the sudden good fortune.
"Don’t worry. This will be your home from now on." Lin Rongrong assured.
When they heard this, the children were ecstatic.
They cautiously walked from room to room, choosing this one and then changing their mind in the next moment.
It was a naïve experience but good times are always short.
After running around for five minutes, they settled down and each chose the room that they liked.
"The bathrooms are at the end of the hall. Girls are on the right and boys are on the left." Aunt Zhang said, pointing the way.
Since the children were young, Mo Chenxuan and the rest felt it was okay for boys and girls to live together.
However, they knew this was only a temporary solution.
When the time came, they would need different structures to prevent a host of issues that could arise from boys and girls living together.
’Let’s hope the land project will be announced soon. Once we buy land, we will have more space for erecting structures.’ Mo Chenxuan thought but soon turned to the Zhangs.
"Uncle Zhang, Aunt Zhang, please find people to take care of the children." He said. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
"We need a cook, at least two cleaners, a caretaker, and a teacher" Qin Wu added.
"A teacher?" Aunt Zhang couldn’t help but be surprised.
However, Mo Chenxuan didn’t answer and instead turned to Lu Hao and Lu Yanyan.
"I will leave the children to the two of you." He said.
"Us?" Lu Hao asked with a shocked expression.
"Just make sure that the children study and train for several hours every day. Whether they study or train in the morning or afternoon is up to you." Qin Wu said.
"I understand." Lu Hao said and Lu Yanyan nodded.
"For now..." Qin Wu said and turned to Aunt Zhang.
"Aunt Zhang, I will give you some supplies for the children. Rongrong will examine them after they bathe and eat."
"I understand." Aunt Zhang nodded.
After that, Mo Chenxuan, Qin Wu, and Aunt Zhang went into an empty to dorm room to transfer supplies.
When that was done, Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu left, leaving the rest to take care of the children.
"We finally managed to bring them here." Qin Wu sighed in relief.
"We almost didn’t make it." Mo Chenxuan said, his brows creased in a frown.
"What do you mean?"
"There is an ability user named Wang Fang among the police. He can detect lies and would have noticed something if I didn’t react fast enough and cover our team with my spiritual ability."
"Is there such a thing?" Qin Wu couldn’t help but frown.
Of all superpowers, spiritual abilities were the most unpredictable.
Like Mo Chenxuan, some could envelope an area and control everything within that area.
However, others could predict the future, detect lies, exude charm, hear people’s thoughts, and so on.
Fortunately, spiritual abilities were not all-powerful.
Wang Fang for example, although his ability was powerful, it was ineffective against an ability user whose superpower level was higher than his.
Alternatively, it could be blocked using a spiritual power barrier like the one Mo Chenxuan erected around his team.
"He is a level two superpower and some of our team members are a little susceptible." Mo Chenxuan said with a thoughtful expression.
"Talking of superpower level..." Qin Wu started, looking at Mo Chenxuan with a happy smile.
"Brother Chenxuan, I am about to advance to level three."
"Congratulations." Mo Chenxuan said, rubbing Qin Wu’s hair.
"Congratulations can wait until I advance." Qin Wu chuckled, pulling Mo Chenxuan to sit on the sofa.
"Brother Chenxuan, about the weapons..."
Originally, Mo Chenxuan planned to lead his team to retrieve the arsenal during the Pine Fresh mission.
However, team Overlord stuck with them during the mission and bringing everyone to retrieve the weapons became an impossible task.
That said, Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu were unwilling to give up.
One day after everyone settled down for the night, Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu sneaked out of the camp and rushed to the secret bunker.
As Mo Chenxuan remembered, the bunker was well hidden in a remote area and there wasn’t much danger around it.
After confirming this, the two entered the bunker, collected the weapons and returned to camp before anyone realised they were missing.
"There were more weapons than I expected." Qin Wu sighed.
When Mo Chenxuan first told her about the armoury, he mentioned it belonged to an arms dealer.
Knowing this, Qin Wu expected to find a sizeable stash of weapons but her imagination fell short of reality.
Not only did the armoury have rifles, it also had food, water, medicines, clothes, knives, ammunition, explosives, grenade launchers, rockets, and even some mounted weapons, including several hundred DShK M1938.
If they hadn’t known better, Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu would have thought they had accidentally stumbled into the country’s armoury.
"I didn’t know arms dealing had reached that level." Qin Wu said and Mo Chenxuan nodded.
Although he was knowledgeable, he also didn’t expect that an arms dealer could hide so many things within the country.
Fortunately, the apocalypse came and these things would now be used against zombies instead of on fellow humans.
"The things we got are enough to arm an army of over twenty thousand people." Mo Chenxuan said.
"Brother Chenxuan, should we distribute some weapons to the main and affiliated teams?"
