Rebirth: Leading Families to Survive in the Apocalypse-Chapter 333 - Heaven-Sent Supplies
Chapter 333: Chapter 333 Heaven-Sent Supplies
So the next afternoon, Lu Hao pushed open the door to Liang Jiuhui’s office.
“What? A warehouse full of supplies? Where?”
Liang Jiuhui stood up abruptly, his three rapid questions revealing his astonishment. Lu Hao actually said they had discovered a warehouse full of supplies outside their base?!
“Xiao Jin is already guarding it, just afraid someone else might find it,” Lu Hao said without changing his expression.
“Good, good, good, I’ll go with Sibo and join you right away,”
Liang Jiuhui joyfully grabbed his coat, ready to leave, but then noticed Lu Hao still leisurely sitting on the sofa, his long legs showing no intention of standing up.
...
“Ahem, Chief, Crystal Cores,”
Sheng Jing reminded him in a low voice from behind. Liang Jiuhui’s reaction today was somewhat slow. For Su Jin and Lu Hao, it was clear—no Crystal Cores, no deal!
“Right, right, I will send the Crystal Cores to you later, rest assured,”
The moment he heard about the supplies, he had gotten so excited he’d forgotten about this crucial detail. Although he wasn’t yet sure how many Crystal Cores he would give, he planned to decide after seeing the supplies.
As expected, once he heard this, Lu Hao stood up and then took Liang Jiuhui and the others towards the warehouse he had mentioned.
“How did you find it?”
Liang Jiuhui couldn’t help but ask in the car.
“We discovered it during a mission today, in a warehouse,” Lu Hao narrated.
Early that morning, his family had set out as usual, taken on a task, and found a warehouse that seemed untouched. After clearing out the zombies from there, Su Jin started moving things outside.
He and Su Xiangzhe had come back to inform Liang Jiuhui about it, part of the plan they had mapped out in their Space the night before.
“Just don’t know how many Crystal Cores Liang Jiuhui will give us after seeing the stash of supplies,”
In a courtyard piled with zombie corpses, Lin Xiuyuan said while using his Special Ability to kill the incessantly arriving zombies.

“We’ll take whatever we can get, and in a few days, another batch will mature in the Space,” Su Jin said.
After much difficulty, they had found this suitable place to store supplies. It was originally a warehouse with both a normal and a cold storage. Perhaps it was too remote, as there were no signs of human presence apart from zombies, fortifying their plan to keep the supplies there.
And Su Jin had already begun “staging the scene.”
The smell inside the warehouse was not pleasant; many previously stored items had dried up. They knew these were the residues left after food had spoiled and rotted away.
However, this was for the best, confirming that not everything was fresh and clean.
Su Jin took out half of the rice and wheat previously bought online and from grain markets, which alone was enough to fill the normal storage.
In another room reeking of smell, she placed half a room’s worth of eggs from the Space, sorted by her grandparents the night before. Placing the eggs amongst the dried-up and foul-smelling remnants, she figured no one would suspect anything.
Seeing there was still room, she took out rice, various beans, and assorted grains previously collected from the supermarket and filled every available space until it was fully packed before walking out.
“We can’t store the rest; only these for now,” Su Jin said.
The corn and fruit in the Space were too fresh, as were the numerous animals and poultry; those would have to be slowly consumed within the Space.
Even so, when Liang Jiuhui and his people arrived, they were still astonished. Was there really a whole warehouse full of grain here?!
Why had they overlooked this place before?
But it was a relief that Lu Hao and Su Jin had found it.
Just then, Huang Yunxiang came out from the cold storage with a crate of eggs, saying, “There are still a lot of eggs in there. I think we should take some back to try them out,”
Eggs?
Are there still eggs available now?
Liang Jiuhui and Song Sibo, among others, walked into the nearby cold storage with astonishment. Although it didn’t smell good inside, there really were a lot of eggs among the spoiled, shriveled things!
“Can these… still be eaten?”
Sheng Jing was hesitant, even if there were eggs, they might have already gone bad, right?
“Whether they can be eaten or not, let’s just take them first; maybe we can pick out some good ones when we get back. Moreover, this used to be a cold storage, so it’s possible that they were preserved for a longer time,”
Liang Jiuhui told Song Sibo and the others.
Song Sibo nodded, enduring the stench as he collected all the eggs.
The grains in the normal temperature storage gave them the biggest surprise. Although the base still had food reserves, they were only decreasing and not increasing. So much grain could sustain the base for a while.
“Lu Hao, we are really thankful for you guys,” Liang Jiuhui said.
“You’re welcome. We can’t finish these items ourselves, and it would be a waste to let them expire,”
Lu Hao said with utmost seriousness.
The few of them didn’t suspect Su Jin and Lu Hao at all, especially after Huang Yunxiang had taken out some eggs herself and said she wanted Su Jin and the others to take them back to try. They thought Su Jin’s family was very lovely, taking only a small box of eggs. If it had been anyone else who discovered this place, they might have kept it all for themselves.
Watching Song Sibo putting bag after bag of supplies into the Space, Liang Jiuhui couldn’t shake off the feeling that it was like mana from heaven.
Having collected their share, Su Jin and Lu Hao prepared to leave the place. It was Mao Qiqi’s birthday celebration that night, and they hadn’t planned to come out today at all.
“I will have someone send you 3,000 Crystal Cores later,” Liang Jiuhui said.
“That’s too little,”
Lu Hao looked at Liang Jiuhui.
“…”
The family nearby couldn’t help but give Lu Hao a mental thumbs-up. Could it be that men were also this capable of bargaining?
After some “negotiation” between Lu Hao and Liang Jiuhui, they finally agreed on 5,000 Crystal Cores.
Su Jin was fairly satisfied with this number. 5,000 Crystal Cores were enough to sustain her Space for quite some time. She hadn’t expected that selling supplies in this manner could be so profitable.
“Su Jin, I just went in and checked, and it doesn’t seem like we’ve used up much,”
Lin Xiuyuan suddenly spoke up from inside the vehicle. He had been eager to see if they had finally cleared some space in the Space’s warehouse, only to discover that not even one area had been emptied.
“Be content. If it were just us few eating these things, it would take two years or more,” Su Jin said.
“Okay then…”
As they spoke, a small car ahead caught their attention. It was just an ordinary sedan, but its trunk was sticking up, and with the flat, tottering rear wheels, they couldn’t help but worry that the car was about to break down.
Bang! Thud!
Su Xiangzhe slammed on the brakes.
The rear wheel of the car actually fell off and rolled to the side of the road, while the sedan itself stopped crookedly in the middle of the road.
“…”
