Rebirth in the 90s: Melting My Devoted Mr. Iceberg-Chapter 796: Are You Kidding
Jiang Xue spent most of the afternoon in space, and she had memorized that medical book. However, she had no way to test how well she learned.
But she wasn’t in a rush about it, she’d deal with it when she had the chance. For now, she decided to familiarize herself with the content first.
After finishing her cultivation, Jiang Xue roasted some snake meat for Little Fox and Big Tiger, and then brought some out to let her parents try it.
Previously, Little Fox had told her that eating snake meat was good for the body. Since grilled meat is best eaten when hot, Jiang Xue brought it out of the space and directly took it to her parents’ house.
"Xue’er, what did you bring? It smells so good!" Mrs. Jiang asked as she opened the door, already entranced by the aroma of the grilled meat.
"Grilled meat, it tastes good, and I specially brought it over for you and Dad to try." Jiang Xue said with a smile.
"Grilled meat? When did you make it? You didn’t buy it from outside, did you?" Mrs. Jiang glanced at the items Jiang Xue was holding and asked.
This question left Jiang Xue a bit at a loss for how to answer, so she merely chuckled awkwardly and placed the items on the coffee table in front of the sofa.
Father Jiang was sitting on the sofa reading a newspaper. When he smelled the aroma, he put the newspaper down slightly to take a look. When he saw it was grilled meat, his eyes lit up, and he asked, "Xue’er, where did you get the grilled meat from? It smells delicious."
"It tastes good too, Dad. Would you like to try some?" Jiang Xue laughed and then picked up a piece of grilled meat to feed Father Jiang.
After serving Father Jiang, Jiang Xue picked up another piece for Mrs. Jiang.
"Does it really taste good?" Father Jiang asked as he ate the grilled meat. To be honest, it was his first time eating grilled meat, and it tasted really wonderful. He wondered what kind of meat it was.
"What kind of meat is this?"
"Dad, take a guess?" Jiang Xue looked at Father Jiang with a mysterious expression, amusing him as he said, "Are you testing me now?"
"Dad, whatever you say it is, that’s what it is!" Jiang Xue replied with a playful expression, successfully endearing herself to Father Jiang.
However, before Father Jiang could speak, Mrs. Jiang interjected, "Is it rabbit meat?"
"No, it seems like fish meat!" Father Jiang thought for a moment and said.
"No, fish meat isn’t like this," Mrs. Jiang countered.
Watching her parents guess back and forth, Jiang Xue laughed and kept shaking her head. The two elders guessed everything they could think of, but none were correct, leaving them a bit disheartened.
Seeing them like this, Jiang Xue didn’t let them continue guessing and directly said, "You don’t need to guess anymore, it’s snake meat."
"What?" Father Jiang and Mrs. Jiang widened their eyes in disbelief, looking at Jiang Xue, thinking their daughter must be joking.
This is snake meat? It doesn’t taste like it at all.
"Xue’er, are you joking?" Jiang Xue was a bit skeptical and asked.
"Mom, how could I joke about this? If you don’t believe me, you can try some more." Jiang Xue said with a radiant smile, but Mrs. Jiang didn’t dare to eat any more.
It was fine when she didn’t know, but now that she did, she certainly wasn’t going to eat any more. So, she looked at Father Jiang and said, "Old man, you finish this."
"What’s wrong?" Jiang Xue asked, puzzled. Father Jiang laughed and said, "Xue’er, your mom is afraid of snakes, so she doesn’t dare to eat it."
With that, Jiang Xue felt a pang of regret. She shouldn’t have told them it was snake meat so soon. Otherwise, Mrs. Jiang might have eaten a bit more.
Thinking this, Jiang Xue looked at Father Jiang and asked, "What about you, Dad? Are you afraid of snakes too?"
