Chapter 301: Chapter 301: Someone Came to the House

"You’re telling me to buy a ticket and leave now?" Jiang Yi asked in disbelief.

Jiang Ran nodded slightly, "Yes. If you buy the ticket now, you should still be able to get one. If you wait any longer, it’ll probably be hard to get."

Upon hearing Jiang Ran’s words, Jiang Yi felt even more incredulous, "Are you really asking me to leave?"

Jiang Ran asked back strangely, "What else? Your grandfather is already gone. If you don’t go home, what are you doing here?"

"Grandfather left, why didn’t you leave with him? Didn’t he come to take you home?"

Jiang Ran’s expression became serious, "My home is here. I don’t need anyone to take me home."

"But—"

"No buts. I still have things to do. You should hurry back."

After speaking, Jiang Ran ignored Jiang Yi and turned to enter the workspace.

Jiang Yi stood there, watching Jiang Ran’s figure get further away, her features almost contorting.

On the way here, she imagined all sorts of scenarios of their meeting.

But she never imagined a scenario like this.

Jiang Ran returned to the workspace, standing in front of the workbench. When she looked up, she could see Jiang Yi standing in the yard through the window.

Jiang Yi remained there, motionless. Jiang Ran glanced at her indifferently, then withdrew her gaze and continued with her work.

Although she kept her head down working, Jiang Ran could feel Jiang Yi’s gaze constantly on her.

However, Jiang Ran was not very concerned.

If Jiang Yi wanted to look, then let her look.

Once she had looked enough, naturally she would stop looking.

With this thought, Jiang Ran lowered her head and continued her work.

In the yard, Jiang Yi still watched Jiang Ran.

Seeing Jiang Ran enter inside, she merely glanced at her and then lowered her head to busy herself, never looking up again. Jiang Yi understood then that Jiang Ran really was unwelcoming of her arrival, even hoping she’d leave soon.

Jiang Yi’s eyes shifted, then she turned and walked away briskly.

On her feet, the small leather boots she wore made a clicking sound as she walked.

The sound was particularly noticeable in the quiet yard.

Hearing this sound gradually fade, Jiang Ran finally lifted her eyes to glance over, only catching a glimpse of Jiang Yi’s silhouette.

The silhouette quickly disappeared through the small door at the front.

Seeing this, Jiang Ran smirked slightly.

It’s good that she left.

Indeed, it’s better when they’re young.

When they’re young, she doesn’t have to worry about what she says, nor play along, simply driving them away is enough.

That afternoon, Jiang Ran continued to work until dusk, only then closing up to leave.

Just after locking the small wardrobe’s door, she turned around and saw Pei Huai standing not far away.

Seeing Pei Huai, Jiang Ran wasn’t very surprised.

Pei Huai would usually come to pick her up if he had the time.

He came over every two or three days, Jiang Ran had long been used to it.

Jiang Ran continued to walk forward calmly. As she passed by Pei Huai, she said, "Let’s go."

Jiang Ran’s steps did not pause, Pei Huai also lifted his foot to follow.

The two of them walked back together, after only a few steps, Jiang Ran stopped.

The reason Jiang Ran stopped was not anything else, but because since just now Pei Huai had been constantly looking at her, glancing several times.

The unusual frequency made Jiang Ran want to find out exactly what was going on.

Just as Jiang Ran looked over at Pei Huai and was about to speak, Pei Huai beat her to it.

"Someone came to the house."
