Rebirth in the 80's: The Daily Life of the Villain's Mom-Chapter 259: The Sound of Snoring
Before Jiang Ran could wonder for long, she understood the sleeping arrangement of this family.
The old lady, her son, and grandson each had their own bed.
The remaining bed was shared by the daughter-in-law and granddaughter.
As for the three women, they skillfully opened their respective bundles, took out blankets, laid them on the floor, and lay down.
Jiang Ran, "..."
Their skillful actions clearly showed they were used to doing this.
The compartment wasn’t big, and the space between the two beds on either side was even smaller.
Luckily, they were all quite slim; by squeezing enough, they could lie down.
If it were the old lady’s physique, even lying two side by side would be problematic.
Jiang Ran didn’t look any further and lay down to sleep herself.
However, Jiang Ran didn’t sleep well.
As the saying goes, birds of a feather flock together.
This family was indeed alike; they all snored in their sleep.
Listening to those alternately loud and soft snores, Jiang Ran’s closed eyes eventually opened.
She turned her head and met Pei Huai’s eyes.
Although the lights in the compartment were off, there was still an emergency light, and coupled with the bright moonlight outside, her vision wasn’t much affected; she could still make out faces.
Looking at Pei Huai, Jiang Ran raised an eyebrow.
Was he unable to sleep due to the ever-changing snoring?
Although thinking this, Jiang Ran didn’t ask; she calmly turned her head away, facing the carriage wall.
Despite the persistent snoring in the compartment, human habits can be frightening.
She didn’t know how long it was, but Jiang Ran eventually fell asleep amidst the snores.
When she woke up groggily, it was already the next morning.
However, she felt somewhat tired from this sleep.
Even though she’d just woken up, her body felt as exhausted as if she had just finished a long run.
Jiang Ran rubbed her eyes, slowly sat up.
Early in the morning, the carriage was surprisingly quiet.
Looking down, she found the family below was gone.
Checking the time, Jiang Ran knew where they had gone.
They were off to eat.
She didn’t know when they left; otherwise, she could have lain down for another nap.
Just as Jiang Ran was thinking this, Pei Huai entered holding a meal box.
Pei Huai didn’t show any signs of fatigue on his face; who knows if he managed to sleep last night.
Before Jiang Ran could speak, Pei Huai had already opened his mouth.
"Awake? Go wash your face, you can eat now."
Having not slept well, Jiang Ran wasn’t very hungry and didn’t really feel like eating.
Though she didn’t feel like eating, Jiang Ran nodded, put on her shoes, and got out of bed.
As a doctor, she knew better than anyone that not eating breakfast is not good.
Even if not hungry, she should eat a little.
After freshening up, she returned, feeling fully awake.
The food on this train wasn’t any different from the food on the previous one they took.
If in a good appetite, she’d surely find the meal lacking.
But with her current poor appetite, the watery porridge could almost serve as a mirror looked quite appetizing instead.
Jiang Ran drank half a bowl of porridge, then waved her hand, "I’m done."
Jiang Ran said she wouldn’t drink more, and Pei Huai didn’t insist.
"Go rest, daytime should be quieter."
Without that family’s constant snoring, it should be much quieter. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Jiang Ran thought the same, so she soon went back to the upper bunk.
Only, just as Jiang Ran lay down, that family returned.
