Rebirth in the 80's: The Daily Life of the Villain's Mom-Chapter 123: Fortune Is Coming
It’s often said that June’s weather is like a child’s face, changing at will.
In truth, that’s exactly the case.
At noon, the sun was still shining brightly, but by two or three in the afternoon, it suddenly turned cloudy with fierce winds howling.
The scene of flying sand and rolling stones seemed like a rainstorm was imminent.
The wind outside was especially strong, able to blow through the open door into the house, so naturally, the indoor fan was turned off.
A few people sat in a row at the door, staring outside.
Due to the gusts of wind, there was hardly anyone outside by now.
Looking at the weather, Pei Shanshan furrowed her brows slightly, "Will anyone still come this afternoon? Sister-in-law, should we still make pastries?"
Pastries are best when freshly made.
Even if they can be stored, their taste isn’t as good as when they’re freshly made.
So, even if they aren’t enough to sell every day, Jiang Ran won’t make too many, fearing that making too much will lead to unsold pastries.
Jiang Ran wasn’t sure if anyone would come, but she decided to make some anyway.
"Make fewer, if they don’t sell, we’ll eat them ourselves and send some to Uncle’s house."
The ’uncle’s house’ Jiang Ran referred to is Wang Cuilan’s parents’ home.
As the two were talking, lightning and thunder suddenly erupted outside, the thunder deafening, momentarily silencing them.
Not long after the thunder, a torrential downpour began.
The rain was so heavy that it made it hard to see a few meters away.
The sound of rain outside was so loud they had to raise their voices indoors to be heard by each other.
Jiang Ran got up and brought Pei Shanshan and Pei Yang into the kitchen.
Busy in the kitchen, the three hardly needed to talk, nor did they need much communication, so the rain sound didn’t really affect them.
Due to the reduced quantity, after more than an hour of busyness in the kitchen, the three finished their work.
Just as they walked out of the kitchen, they saw a car parked at the door.
Looking at the van, Jiang Ran’s first feeling was one of familiarity.
Furrowing her brows and thinking carefully, Jiang Ran finally remembered whose car it was.
It was Chen Bing’s.
Just as she was thinking, someone opened the door and got out from the driver’s seat.
He didn’t use an umbrella; after getting out, he quickly ran towards the store.
Standing at the door, he stamped his feet and then continued to walk inside.
"This rain came just as suddenly as it started!" Chen Bing exclaimed. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Jiang Ran chuckled, "Water means wealth; encountering water upon leaving is a sign of impending fortune."
Hearing Jiang Ran say so, Chen Bing immediately laughed, "Boss Jiang really knows how to talk, no wonder business is doing so well! But Boss Jiang is right; such heavy rain brings fortune to you."
Seeing Chen Bing’s van, Jiang Ran already had some guesses about his intentions.
Last time, Chen Bing bought two hundred gift boxes to take away, which was some time ago, presumably all sold out by now.
This time coming over, he must be ordering more gift boxes.
As Jiang Ran was thinking, she heard Chen Bing say, "I came this time to ask Boss Jiang, can you mass-produce the pastries you make, how much can you make, are there new varieties, and can they be stored longer?"
Hearing Chen Bing’s series of questions, Jiang Ran looked at him with new appreciation.
Worthy of a business person, thinking thoroughly.
Unfortunately, Jiang Ran couldn’t completely solve these problems.
"Small batch production is possible, and there are some new varieties recently; you can try them later. But as for longer storage times, I’m afraid it’s not doable."
