Rebirth: Ghost Exorciser-Chapter 1789 - The Old Liang Family Residence (7)
1789 The Old Liang Family Residence (7)
Qi Hao didn’t know that Fang Yu and Lu Ningwen were muttering about him in the room. The two of them couldn’t believe that they had spent so much money on pieces of scrap paper.
The two of them attributed this to the fact that the kid was too good at talking and his looks were too deceptive; he had looked like an honest person at first.
However, tens of thousands wasn’t a lot of money for the two of them, especially for Fang Yu. Fang Yu simply stuffed the talisman he had bought into Lu Ningwen’s hand and said, “Ningwen, this good stuff is for you!”
With that, he prepared to run away.
Unfortunately, before Fang Yu could leave, there was another knock on the door. The two looked at each other and thought that it was the director from the production team who had remained behind, and that he was here to give them the mission.
Lu Ningwen immediately went to open the door. He didn’t expect to see the kid who had just sold talismans to them standing outside with a smile.
The two looked at each other. Compared with the more cheerful Fang Yu, Lu Ningwen was a little reserved and didn’t know how to talk, though he had a good character. Seeing that it was this kid again, he was stunned. Fang Yu blurted out, “Why are you still here? You’re not trying to sell your useless… no, your talismans again, are you?”
Taking in the ‘frightened’ expressions of the two, Qi Hao chuckled and waved his hand with a smile. “I’m not selling talismans this time. Hehe, this is a special after-sales service: I’m giving you an even better Exorcism Talisman for free. These two aren’t like the previous ones; my sister-in-law drew these ones herself. The effects are superb, and you definitely won’t regret having them in the future.”
When Fang Yu and Lu Ningwen heard this, they already felt some regret. They would get a bit of something from spending tens of thousands on other things, but they didn’t want to spend on scrap paper which they wouldn’t even wipe their butts with.
It wasn’t good for the two to say this. Under the other party’s abnormally enthusiastic attitude, they doubted life as their pockets were forcefully stuffed with the talismans.
Seeing that Qi Hao hadn’t left yet, the two probed, “Anything else?”
Before Qi Hao could speak, Lu Ningwen suddenly had a thought. He coughed dryly and said, “Brother Qi, it’s fine for us to buy this thing, but don’t give it to anyone else.”
Brother Qi would definitely be beaten up if he tried to sell this scrap of paper for tens of thousands to the rest. The two of them would rather believe that Brother Qi was a down-to-earth person who had most likely been duped by someone else.
Qi Hao grinned and accepted the other party’s good intentions. He had already tried with the others, but unfortunately, apart from the two in front of him, no one else was willing to buy the talismans. This was also why he had a particularly good impression of Lu Ningwen and Fang Yu. As for the others, they would regret not buying his talismans sooner or later. If something really happened, would he still sell them these things then?
Qi Hao gloated in his heart even as he agreed obediently. He then remembered his sister-in-law’s exhortation. Qi Hao’s cheeky smile disappeared and his expression turned quite serious. “By the way, apart from this after-sales service, I have a few more things to say – take it as another after-sales service. It’s just that my sister-in-law said that there’s something very wrong with this place. It’s best if you stay in your rooms for the next few nights and don’t go out too much. Don’t go out after 6pm if you can. By the way, if something really happens, my sister-in-law and I are staying opposite. Please knock if you need anything.
“One last thing, and this is my own suggestion: It would be best if the two of you stay in the same room, so that you can look out for each other in the future.” After a pause, Qi Hao continued, “And to be honest with you, there really are ghosts in this world. I’ve seen them before!”
Qi Hao didn’t care if they believed him or not. After saying that, he turned around and immediately went back to his room. If he didn’t go back, his sister-in-law would come out and grab him.
As for Fang Yu and Lu Ning, that was all he had to say to them. He had done everything he could to help. Whether they believed him or not was up to them.
Qi Hao swiftly returned to his room, leaving Fang Yu and Lu Ningwen to give each other stumped expressions. In particular, the other party’s last sentence shook their worldview. What did he mean by “there really are ghosts in this world. I’ve seen them before”?
If it wasn’t for the other party’s serious face, they would have suspected that he was joking.
Without waiting for Lu Ningwen to speak, Fang Yu hurriedly had Lu Ningwen close the door.
After the door was shut, Fang Yu and Lu Ningwen were a bit ashamed that they had been scared by Brother Qi’s words. Brother Qi must have been joking with them just now, or he was deliberately messing with them.
Besides, how could there be so many gods and ghosts in this world, to say nothing of the other party’s claim that he had seen ghosts? It was simply too absurd.
After the two regained their composure, Fang Yu said first, “Brother Qi must be joking with us to test our guts. If he’s seen a ghost before, I’ve seen the Jade Emperor!”
Lu Ning was used to Fang Yu speaking to him freely; he immediately nodded in agreement, and didn’t believe Brother Qi. The two were about to speak, when there was a sudden knock on the door, scaring them so much that they cursed. “F*ck!”
Lu Ningwen went over to open the door and saw that it was Qi Hao. He felt helpless, and so did Fang Yu.
Without waiting for the two to speak, Qi Hao said again, “I came again because I think you’re good people and I don’t want to see anything happen to you. I want to remind the two of you again that I’m telling the truth. There really are… things in this world. Don’t doubt me. As the saying goes, if you don’t listen to your elders, you’ll suffer!”
