Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate-Chapter 703: Irreplaceable
"That’s awesome!" The excited message from the other side came with a long string of exclamation marks, "Bro, you’re amazing, meeting you is truly a blessing!"
"Yeah, let’s work together again in the future." Albert Fletcher exited that number and started organizing the work at hand.
He was determined to see how he could make Ophelia Wilson "disappear."
"Xuehai, still not asleep?" Mother Fletcher knocked on the door and asked from outside.
"Mom, I still have some stuff to handle. I’ll sleep once I’m done, you go rest." Albert said, getting up and walking over to open the door. He saw his mother holding a bowl of steaming hot noodles, the tempting aroma wafting into his nose.
"Mom, it’s so late, why are you still making food for me?" Albert quickly took the bowl, supporting his mother with one hand.
"You’re too tired, eat something, don’t wear yourself out." Mother Fletcher’s walk was still a bit unsteady, a consequence of the car accident years ago. Whenever the weather was bad or cold, her bones would ache.
Seeing his mother’s faltering steps, a surge of hatred rose within Albert. How could Ophelia Wilson go through with it?
Just so he could become her manager!
"Why aren’t you eating?" Mother Fletcher asked Albert curiously, "Are you too tired? Don’t want to eat."
"No, I’ll eat it now." Albert began eating the noodles in large bites. He worked so hard not for any other goal but in hopes that his parents, who had suffered all their lives, could live well and be happy in their later years.
But... a car accident left them wracked with pain, having to endure the aftereffects every day.
Ophelia Wilson!
Albert’s grip on the chopsticks whitened with force as he hatefully bit into the noodles, imagining them as Ophelia Wilson.
Mother Fletcher watched her son eat the noodles lovingly, speaking softly, "We have quite a bit of money now, don’t work too hard. Your dad and I have pensions too, that’s enough."
Albert looked up at his mother’s face full of wrinkles and her mostly white hair... If it weren’t for that car accident years ago, his mother wouldn’t look so much older than her peers.
"Mom, I’m not tired. In the future, I’ll reduce my workload a bit and spend more time with you and dad." Albert’s words made Mother Fletcher nod repeatedly, "Good, good, no need to work so hard. Having enough money is all that matters."
With Mother Fletcher by his side, Albert suppressed his hatred for Ophelia Wilson, chatting slowly with his mother. The two spoke softly about everyday matters, a mundane irreplaceable warmth.
The next day, after having breakfast, Sophie Wilson rushed directly into Kai Bright’s room, excitedly shouting, "Bro, hurry up, let’s go."
"Where to?" Kai Bright looked at the bustling Sophie in confusion and asked.
"To pick out a gift, we don’t have much time." Sophie urged Kai Bright.
"You have something in mind?" Kai Bright asked this as he quickly put on his coat and left, driving towards their destination.
"I still want to check Lingzhu Jewelry again, after all, they have the best stuff there." Sophie sighed lightly.
"Alright, let’s check it out first. If it doesn’t work, we’ll find another way." Kai Bright suggested, "We still have some time anyway."
"Okay." Sophie nodded. After the two arrived at Lingzhu Jewelry, they went straight up to the second floor, and Kai Bright asked, "What do you want to see... Hey, hey... what are you doing?"
Turning his head, Kai Bright suddenly realized that Sophie had already dashed to the counter, and behind the counter lay the shop’s treasure, not for sale.
