Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate-Chapter 666 Admit Defeat
With a stylish one-handed shake, the dice produced a pleasant crisp sound inside the dice cup.
Then, with a snap, the dice cup landed on the table. Hayley Cole lifted her chin confidently, signaling with her eyes to Sophie Wilson that it was her turn.
"Hmm, I’ll give it a try." Sophie nodded, picking up the dice cup with one hand and collecting the dice one by one from the table into the cup with the other hand.
This technique... couldn’t be more novice-like, as if she had never touched these things before.
"Miss Wilson... are you really okay?" David Green looked uncertainly at Kai Bright.
Kai shot him a fierce glare, asking him what he was up to.
He didn’t even know who to ask anymore!
"She’ll definitely be fine!" Among everyone present, only Lucy Wells, Sophie’s devoted fan, was brimming with confidence in her.
Kai sighed, thinking: Lucy, not everything can just be achieved through confidence.
Sophie’s clumsy movements made those around glance at each other. When Sophie started shaking the dice cup, the entire audience had the same expression — slightly open mouths and wide eyes, with the same thought in their minds: Is she playing around? 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
Sophie held the dice cup with both hands, shaking it up and down relentlessly. Compared to Hayley Cole, not only was her movement far from impressive or elegant, but even the sound of the dice inside the cup was a mess; it was clearly the sign of a novice.
Speaking of Hayley Cole’s actions, if not professional, she had certainly put in some serious effort and was an expert.
As for Sophie here... why does it feel like she’s a kid playing with toys?
Does Sophie really want to compete with Hayley Cole like this?
It’s obviously a loss waiting to happen.
A few of Kai Bright’s young friends, who usually play well with him, exchanged anxious glances.
Kai’s an expert in all kinds of games, always quick and adept.
He’s so skilled; how come his cousin doesn’t know anything?
With Sophie’s level, it’d be best just to admit defeat!
In the end, she’d just embarrass herself.
Yet Sophie remained defiant as if unwilling to concede, shaking the dice cup up and down repeatedly. The serious demeanor paired with clumsy technique elicited a mocking cold smile from Hayley Cole, who couldn’t help asking, "Are you ready yet?"
"Yes, I am." Sophie finally placed the dice cup on the table.
"Great, let’s reveal it then!" Hayley Cole was about to uncover the dice cup when Sophie suddenly spoke up, "Wait a minute!"
"What? You want to admit defeat?" Hayley retorted, pressing the dice cup with one hand and glaring at Sophie, "You can admit defeat, but you’ll have to apologize to me."
"Who’s saying anything about admitting defeat?" Sophie replied amusingly, "I just wanted to ask, are we deciding the winner in one round or best of three?"
"If it’s just one round, I’m afraid people will say I’m bullying you. Let’s make it best out of three," Hayley Cole responded amicably, "But beforehand, let’s agree, whoever loses must bow and apologize publicly to the other."
"Sounds good." Sophie nodded, "Make sure you remember that and don’t back out later."
"Me, lose? Are you joking!" Hayley almost burst into laughter, not to brag, but when it comes to this game in Imperial City, she’s at least in the top three.
And with Sophie’s novice demeanor, thinking she can beat her?
She wouldn’t even dare dream about it!
"What’s the matter? Don’t want to compete and afraid of facing the consequences?" Sophie raised an eyebrow, "If you’re scared, you can leave right now."
