Chapter 563: Chapter 563: Look at His Will

"Grandfather, let me play something for you." As he spoke, James Reed pressed the button on the recorder, and Charles Seymour’s voice came through clearly.

Old Mr. Seymour listened quietly, showing no reaction. James lowered his eyes, sneering inwardly.

What an old fox, able to remain so calm after hearing such a recording. No wonder he managed to make Seymour Corporation so successful.

When the recording ended, James turned off the recorder, quietly watching Old Mr. Seymour without saying a word.

Old Mr. Seymour smiled, a smile full of deeper meaning: "What do you mean by letting me hear this?"

"You’re right, Grandfather. I indeed have selfish motives for inviting my brother back to the company," James admitted frankly. "I really want to use him to secure the partnership with Peace Group."

"Grandfather, you know how important this partnership is to our Seymour Corporation. Now, because of the engagement banquet, my brother is in the spotlight. Peace Group, considering his connections, will be more inclined to think about our company."

James laid all his cards on the table, appearing quite sincere.

Old Mr. Seymour did not interrupt him, just listened quietly.

James sighed softly and said, "I know you don’t like me, Grandfather, but this is a company matter. I still hope you can persuade my brother to come back. This way, Seymour Corporation will have a better chance." 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

"You’ve certainly done a lot for the company," Old Mr. Seymour said with a smile.

James responded modestly, "This is what I should do."

"You say it’s for the good of the company... what’s this recording got to do with it?" Old Mr. Seymour asked. "Are you trying to tell me how foolish my grandson is, ignoring his own family for the sake of a woman?"

With that last word, Old Mr. Seymour suddenly unleashed a powerful aura, the kind of presence only someone who has weathered the business world for years could have.

Even James, who was so adept at concealing his emotions, felt a shiver of fear in the face of such an Old Mr. Seymour.

"No, that’s not what I meant," James hastily explained. "I just wanted to tell you, Grandfather, that I hope you can persuade my brother. After all, some things can be overlooked once or twice by family, but over time... it really hurts feelings."

"Is that so?" Old Mr. Seymour smiled, and the oppressive aura that almost suffocated James suddenly retracted, allowing him to breathe easier, his erratic heartbeat gradually returning to normal.

"I understand this matter," Old Mr. Seymour nodded and then... nothing more.

James hesitated for a moment but still asked, "Grandfather, about my brother joining the company..."

"It depends on his willingness," Old Mr. Seymour’s words nearly drove James to madness. "Grandfather, what about the company..."

"Isn’t your father handling the company’s affairs?" Old Mr. Seymour said with a half-smiling expression, leaving James feeling extremely uncomfortable.

Is this old man mocking their father and son?

Is there something wrong with them managing the company so diligently and hard?

Is it necessary for everyone to be like Charles Seymour, happily doing nothing?

"If there’s nothing else, you should go. I’m getting old, don’t come and disturb me in the future." These words from Old Mr. Seymour made James’s face change.
