Rebirth before Apocalypse: My Whole Family are Bigshots!-Chapter 65: Follow My Lead
After watching the van leave, the Bai Family didn’t take any of the supplies from the supermarket. They got on the bus and left.
They had plenty of supplies stored in their space, and many eyes were observing this supermarket. There was no need to make enemies over a small amount of supplies.
Their goal was to blow up the research facility, and there was no need to create conflicts with the people of D City over trivial supplies.
On the contrary, the Bai Family decided to maintain good relationships.
Even a mighty dragon cannot suppress a local snake.
If peaceful coexistence is possible, then choose peaceful coexistence.
If not, use strength to enforce peaceful coexistence.
The bus charged through, forcefully clearing a path through the traffic-clogged streets.
The residents in the buildings opened their windows to see what was happening below.
The blue-and-white bus, splattered with black blood, looked like a fierce beast.
Some who were afraid to go out saw the unobstructed road and considered venturing outside.
Indeed, even with the Fire Phoenix Safety Base in D City, there were still many survivors hiding at home, too scared to leave.
In an era without the internet, very few relied on radios for information, and most didn’t even know about the Fire Phoenix Safety Base.
When people from the Fire Phoenix Safety Base came to the city for supplies, they repeatedly informed survivors of the base’s existence.
The bus’s appearance allowed city roads to become clear sooner.
For the Bai Family, it was just a matter of pressing the gas pedal, but for some survivors, it was a beacon of hope for survival.
With the roads clear, survivors dared to drive out in search of the much-talked-about Fire Phoenix Safety Base.
Even before reaching the Fire Phoenix Safety Base, the Bai Family’s bus had already won some favor among the people.
As evening approached, the bus stopped in a quiet corner.
The family locked the bus doors from the inside, held hands, and entered the space with Bai Xiqin.
Inside the space.
The air was filled with a faint fruity fragrance.
The golden wheat and rice were ripe, waiting for the Bai Family to harvest.
The space was without seasons; any fruit trees or crops matured quickly with excellent quality.
Taowu lay on the soft grass, with a large iron pot in front of it, full of fruits.
"Master, you’re here! I missed you so much!"
As soon as Qin Yuan saw Bai Xiqin, it perked up and flew to her shoulder, looking eager to please.
Bai Xiqin felt a coolness on her hand and looked down to find a small White Snake coiled around her wrist.
"Master, Master! I missed you too!"
The Water Python’s tiny eyes stared intently at Bai Xiqin, its head nuzzling her wrist repeatedly.
The Bai Family glanced at the two peculiar Divine Beasts and turned away as if they hadn’t seen anything.
Bai Zhengxuan and Liu Jing got on the harvester to reap the wheat and rice.
Bai Anhai and others went to the iron sheet area; the massive construction of warehouses with iron sheets was not yet complete.
Warehouses built with iron sheets stood tall behind two light steel villas, each filled with supplies.
Yet, the number of warehouses was still inadequate.
The main issue was the space’s excessively high yield; wave after wave of crops were harvested, necessitating more warehouses.
So annoying!
Bai Xiqin glanced at Taowu, munching on fruits, and breathed a slight sigh of relief.
Fortunately, Taowu didn’t leap onto her shoulder or coil around her wrist.
"Is there something you need?"
Bai Xiqin’s lips twitched slightly.
It was evident the two Divine Beasts had a request.
"No, just missed Master a lot." Qin Yuan nuzzled Bai Xiqin’s hair, flashing a somewhat mischievous smile.
"If there’s nothing, go to sleep! I have things to do." Bai Xiqin calmly tossed Qin Yuan and the Water Python away.
Qin Yuan’s tail was venomous, and Bai Xiqin feared accidental poisoning.
The Water Python was self-explanatory, a water snake.
For a young lady, snakes were the most frightening.
"Master, actually I have a small request." Qin Yuan shamelessly flew back to Bai Xiqin’s shoulder.
"Master, I also have a small request."
The Water Python covered its eyes with its tail, looking shy and embarrassed.
"Speak!" Bai Xiqin eyed the two cheeky Divine Beasts.
"I want a food bowl just like Taowu’s!" Qin Yuan looked at Bai Xiqin with hopeful eyes.
"Me too!" The Water Python also looked at Bai Xiqin eagerly.
Bai Xiqin: ...
Bai Xiqin glanced at Taowu’s "food bowl" and suddenly remembered.
The large iron pot had once been used to cook mutated zombie golden retriever meat. She found it revolting and gave both the pot and the bowl to Taowu.
It was said to be its new food bowl.
Unexpectedly, Taowu didn’t mind at all, and the other two Divine Beasts thought the "food bowl" looked cool?
"Master, may I?" the Water Python asked again carefully, watching Bai Xiqin with hopeful eyes.
Taowu’s new food bowl was too cool, held a lot of food, and it wanted one too!
"Sure!"
Bai Xiqin’s lips twitched intensely.
Back when stocking supplies, she had hoarded a lot, including plenty of pots, bowls, and pans.
With a thought, two large iron pots flew out from an iron sheet warehouse.
With a clatter.
They fell in front of the Water Python and Qin Yuan.
"Ah! Thank you, Master, I really adore you!"
Qin Yuan’s eyes lit up, happily holding the "food bowl," several times its size, in its mouth as it left.
"Thank you, Master! I adore you immensely too!"
The Water Python struggled, using its tail to hook the large iron pot and dragged the food bowl beside Taowu.
The three large iron pots aligned perfectly in a row, becoming the most striking scenery in the space.
Having settled the matter with the Divine Beasts, Bai Xiqin began harvesting the mature fruits in the space.
The heavy fruits bent the branches.
With a slight movement of her fingers, some ripe fruits flew into the warehouse designated for fruits.
Apples, persimmons, pears, grapes, cherries, lychees... everything was available.
Even fruits maturing in different seasons outside were abundant in the space.
With her control ability and mastery of the space, Bai Xiqin could easily "pluck" fruits from the orchard into the warehouse.
Only three or four trees of each fruit were planted, yet the fruits still filled the warehouse.
Each fruit tree was thriving, with a rapid fruit maturation cycle, producing harvest after harvest.
The vegetable-growing area also yielded a bountiful harvest, filling one warehouse after another.
Bai Xiqin luxuriously placed some fresh green vegetables in the pen fenced with iron mesh for the animals.
The animals, raised in the space for only a few months, were reaching the point where spices could be added.
Rabbits had the highest breeding capacity; even though Taowu often caught them, there were still plenty hopping around in the pen.
Bai Zhengxuan parked the harvester in an empty spot.
Bai Xiqin transferred the grains into the warehouse.
"Xiao Niu, what do you want for dinner?"
Bai Zhengxuan winked at Bai Xiqin.
Read my expression, say you want pork knuckle!
"I want pork knuckle." Bai Xiqin’s lips twitched slightly.
"Alright, Grandpa will make it for you!"
Bai Zhengxuan nodded with a smile, looking kind as he headed towards the stove.
