The entrance of the supermarket is the most chaotic place, with dark brown blood all over the ground.
The snacks on the shelves are scattered on the floor, trampled into a mess by zombies.
Bai Xiqin and Leng Yebai continue to walk inside, occasionally encountering zombies trapped under shelves, easily dispatching them.
The entire supermarket is filled with a decaying stench, not only from rotting fruits and vegetables but also a strong smell of blood.
The path is stained with blood.
When the apocalypse hit, it was in the morning, and the supermarket was packed with people shopping for the holidays.

The two of them walk around the first floor and finally find the supermarket’s storage room.
The storage room is filled with boxes of drinks, rice, and other supplies, which Bai Xiqin collects entirely into her space.
The second floor is relatively less chaotic, and the two find the storage room, collecting all the supplies inside into their space as well.
The third floor sells various household items, and Bai Xiqin plans to collect some as they would be useful eventually.

There’s a faint sound of an animal chewing on the third floor.
Bai Xiqin and Leng Yebai exchange a glance, slowing their steps.
The grinding sound comes again.
The two follow the sound to a shop entrance.
It’s a store that sells bed sheets, with many colorful sheets hanging at the entrance, and behind one of the sheets, a small animal is faintly squatting on the ground.
Leng Yebai steps forward and lifts the sheet.
"Meow—"
A white cat covered in blood crouches, baring its teeth and claws at the two of them.
Bai Xiqin finally sees what it’s eating.
It’s a blood-soaked finger, and it’s unclear where the cat got it from.
The grinding sound was from the cat chewing on bones.
The cat, startled, crouches and takes a few steps back. Seeing that Bai Xiqin and Leng Yebai don’t attack it, it quickly darts out, escaping.
Bai Xiqin looks at the bloody finger, slightly dazed.
The blood on that finger is red, not yet coagulated.
This means the owner of the finger died not long ago and was human, not infected by zombies.
"Someone’s on the third floor," Leng Yebai whispers.
Bai Xiqin lightly presses her thin lips together, feeling a bit heavy-hearted.
Leng Yebai gently holds Bai Xiqin’s hand and says quietly, "Why don’t you go outside and wait for me first?"
Bai Xiqin slightly shakes her head and continues walking forward with Leng Yebai.
In the three years of the apocalypse, she’s seen a lot.
Just the warmth of family almost makes her forget how cruel the apocalypse is.
As they reach the deepest part of the storage area, they faintly hear a woman sobbing.
The sobbing is very soft, the woman’s suppressed cries making the quiet third floor somewhat eerie.
"Shut up, stop crying! If you attract zombies, I’ll feed you to them!"
A man lowers his voice to threaten the woman.
Bai Xiqin looks up at the door and windows; a small hole in a window allows a cat to pass through.
Not intending to meddle, yet the woman’s sobs make Bai Xiqin’s expression slightly stiff.
The voice sounds very much like someone she used to know.
Back then, she was trapped in a research lab because this person tricked her into a mission, got knocked out, and woke up in the lab.
Bai Xiqin’s fingers tremble slightly, thinking about the tortures at the research lab, feeling an urge to rush over and kill the woman to feed to zombies.
However, she controls herself.
She doesn’t know where that so-called research lab is located.
She only knows it’s a place without daylight.
The organization is very mysterious, and even as a relatively strong superpower user in the apocalypse, she’s never heard of the lab’s existence.
So, if she wants to destroy that damn lab, this woman is the breakthrough point.
"Bang bang bang!"
Bai Xiqin stiffly reaches out her hand to knock on the door.
Leng Yebai notices Bai Xiqin’s expression and walks over with concern in his eyes.

"Who is it?"
A man’s voice comes from inside.
"I was passing by and heard noises inside, are you all right?"
Bai Xiqin tries to speak in a calm tone.
"Outside... what about those creatures?"
The man’s voice is slightly startled.
There are so many creatures in the supermarket, how dare someone stay outside!
"They’re all dead. Someone very powerful killed them all! There are no more zombies in the supermarket now," Bai Xiqin says.

The door opens a crack, revealing a pair of fierce eyes.
Those eyes scan Bai Xiqin up and down, narrowing lewdly.
Leng Yebai stands in front of Bai Xiqin, looking coldly at the people inside, exuding waves of coldness.

The man is of a short and sleazy appearance.

But she knows beneath those eyes lies dirt.
At the safe base, she treated her as a friend, maybe not a confidant, but someone she could trust.
Little did she know she would get betrayed during a mission!
In the corner of the warehouse, some junk is piled up, with a blood-stained knife handle faintly visible underneath.

"You know each other?" The sleazy man looks at Zhao Mimi and points at Leng Yebai.
"This is President Leng, I’m his girlfriend, I want to leave with him!"
Zhao Mimi, grabbing onto what seemed like a lifeline, suddenly darts to Leng Yebai’s side, looking pitifully at him.
At the start of the apocalypse, she and several others were trapped in a warehouse; no one dared to open the door to look for food, even though they were at a supermarket.
Each day, they fell back asleep and woke up to the roars of zombies.
Initially, there were four people in the warehouse.
Now... only two are left.
Just because she was prettier, she was kept until the end.
"Is she your girlfriend?"
Bai Xiqin asks Leng Yebai with a half-smile.
"No," Leng Yebai quickly shakes his head, taking a step towards Bai Xiqin, his tone righteous, "I’m not that blind!"
With Xiao Niu around, there’s no way he’d get involved with another woman.
"President Leng... can you take me with you?" Zhao Mimi pleads, "Didn’t I work for you before? Don’t you remember?"
"Did you pay for the computer?" Leng Yebai slightly furrows his brow, asking an abrupt question.
Zhao Mimi once tried to use her beauty to seduce Leng Yebai, but failed and ended up breaking his office computer.
She had to pay quite a bit to compensate.
