Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack-Chapter 692 - 672: The Incense Burner
Elder Hei was intently carving the stone in the room, and by the time he had completely finished, the sky was already fully dark. He looked at the piece of Fortune, Prosperity, and Longevity Tricolor in front of him and really wanted to vomit a mouthful of old blood onto it. How could a fine piece of jade just have a section blandly cut off? Although the remaining part still had three colors, the proportion of green had reduced a lot, and the price couldn’t compare.
Even with a section cut off, its price was immeasurable.
"Luo Qianqian, if not for Old Man Kong’s student, I really would have liked to take you under my wing," Elder Hei shook his head helplessly, his face filled with bitterness. He hadn’t yet developed a hobby of snatching away disciples that others had already accepted.
Looking at the jade, Elder Hei hesitated again and again but finally decided to inform Jimo Kong, lest Luo Qianqian’s talent go to waste. Among so many stones, to be able to carve out these two pieces, she could be considered a genius; after all, when she first arrived, Luo Qianqian still stubbornly regarded marble as Gambling Stone.
Seeing a promising seedling, it was his duty as an elder to not let her talent just drift away with the wind. Anyway, Jimo Kong wasn’t around at the moment, and since he was the elder, guiding her a bit wouldn’t be out of the question.
Thinking this way, Elder Hei chuckled slyly, and the open window allowed his voice to travel through the air to the next room; the person next door, hearing the laughter and without even taking off their clothes, shrank their neck and crawled into their blankets to sleep.
Early the next morning, Elder Hei was already waiting outside the room of Luo Qianqian and Jimo Cheng. If not for Jimo Cheng’s regular habits, he might have had to wait a little longer.
"Elder Hei? Why didn’t you call us?" Jimo Cheng was surprised to see Elder Hei standing at the door, then quickly let him in and said.
"Well, I didn’t want to disturb your sleep, is Miss Jin Yue still asleep?" Elder Hei chuckled.
Jimo Cheng nodded, seeing the smile on Elder Hei’s face and knowing what this was about: "She might take a while longer. Elder Hei, have you eaten?"
"Not yet." Elder Hei touched his stomach awkwardly; he had rushed up here first thing and didn’t even think about eating.
Jimo Cheng helplessly ordered breakfast, not wanting to keep an elder waiting, then knocked on the bedroom door: "Jin Yue, time to get up."
Because Luo Qianqian had gone to bed early the night before, she was already awake by this time. She was aware of the two speaking, but she didn’t want to get up.
It was only when Jimo Cheng spoke that she had no choice but to pretend to be sleepy and muttered with a hoarse voice, "I’m coming."
Then she got up to wash and get dressed.
After finishing her washing and changing into clean clothes, Luo Qianqian didn’t know when Jimo Cheng had prepared the change of clothes for her; they were placed at the door of the room, complete from inside out.
Luo Qianqian looked at the small underwear in her bag and sighed softly. Was it once again all for naught?
"Miss Jin Yue." Seeing Luo Qianqian come out, Elder Hei quickly stood up.
The flattering smile on his face made Luo Qianqian shudder, and she recoiled a bit. What was up with this man?
Smiling like that suddenly was quite frightening, wasn’t it?
"Good morning, Elder Hei." She still greeted Elder Hei with a smile and nodded, then sat down on the empty sofa.
"Hehe, good, good." It was then that Elder Hei finally said to the two of them, "Do you know what I carved out yesterday?"
"It was a Gambling Stone," said Luo Qianqian, as if it were obvious.
Jimo Cheng almost dropped his coffee onto the floor, his face showing nothing but helplessness. However, he understood, considering Luo Qianqian had been exposed to this for barely over ten hours; how could she know so much?
"Is it glass type?" Jimo Cheng asked. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
Elder Hei shook his head, then with a face full of mystery, "It’s the Fortune, Prosperity, and Longevity glass type."
Jimo Cheng looked somewhat surprised, no way?
Luo Qianqian blinked her eyes, "So this is more expensive than the glass type?" Her face was the picture of innocence, the very image of harmlessness, which made Elder Hei’s enthusiasm dissipate. How could he have forgotten that this person really knew nothing at all?
Jimo Cheng couldn’t help but chuckle, turning his head in the other direction, simply unable to bear looking at the expressions of the two people.
"Yes," Elder Hei gritted his teeth, how could one use such a vulgar explanation? But regrettably, Jimo Cheng, who was responsible for explaining, didn’t wish to interrupt, so he didn’t have any choice.
"That’s great, I’ll carve it out later and give it to Grandpa, one ashtray each for Grandpa Kong," Luo Qianqian said, her eyes glittering with excitement.
Elder Hei simply collapsed on the ground. What did he just hear? Someone wants to carve ashtrays out of Fortune, Prosperity, and Longevity???
Jimo Cheng lowered his head, his shoulders shaking. He had really underestimated Luo Qianqian’s comedic talent.
"Is there something wrong?" Luo Qianqian touched her head, a look of confusion on her face, "That size clearly isn’t suitable for making a drinking cup, and making a set of teacups would be quite difficult."
"Young Master Jin Nian, I’m going down first," Elder Hei coughed violently, rushing off. He was afraid if he didn’t leave now, he would be directly infuriated into a heart attack by Luo Qianqian.
"Elder Hei, take care," Jimo Cheng nodded, seeing him out the door, and then closing it. But then he saw Luo Qianqian had already lost that bewildered look, and her face was serious. For a moment, he was puzzled, "Jin Yuee, what’s wrong?"
Luo Qianqian was startled, quickly shook her head, and took a sip of milk in front of her, revealing a content smile.
She had just felt that Elder Hei carried an aura she disliked, not understanding why, but she just didn’t like it, even though she hadn’t felt this way yesterday.
"Do you really plan to give ashtrays as gifts?" Jimo Cheng relaxed only when he saw Luo Qianqian’s smiling face. He sat down, picked up his coffee, and asked.
"How could I? Grandpa doesn’t smoke," Luo Qianqian shook her head, she was just talking nonsense earlier.
Massaging her shoulder, Luo Qianqian pouted, "Brother, you’re not going to just settle for a glass of milk for breakfast, right?"
"Of course not," Jimo Cheng said, amused as he looked at Luo Qianqian, knowing her mind was fixed on eating - such a child she was.
After eating breakfast leisurely, the two left the hotel. Every floor had security, so there was really no need to worry about losing anything. Every year at this time, unless requested, room service was temporarily suspended to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings.
"Shall we just take a casual look?" Jimo Cheng suggested, not wanting to watch Luo Qianqian buy another bunch of stones, nicknamed fishtanks, from the gambling stone market. It wouldn’t be good if someone with an agenda took notice.
"Sure, let’s go buy some local specialties to give to others," Luo Qianqian agreed cheerfully, her interest in going to the trading market faded. She sensed that yesterday’s limelight was enough, and it was better to stay low-key now.
The two wandered around, buying anything that caught their fancy, with Jimo Cheng having taken quite a bit of the local currency from Elder Hei.
"This is nice," Luo Qianqian held a small furnace cauldron that appeared to be an incense burner, but its pattern was quite primitive, catching her attention. It felt like it could be an antique. Buying it to display for a few days before donating it sounded like an excellent idea.
