Chapter 657: Chapter 637: Unexpected Confession (Part Four)

"It’s about time to eat," they idly chatted while others grabbed plush toys and played arcade games, until finally, it was time to head for dinner. Yanzhi counted the number of people and pulled out meal vouchers, one for each person.

"They’ve even set a two and a half hour limit, do they think we’re going to eat them out of business?" Yuhao smirked as he looked at the meal voucher.

Jingjing casually stuffed a palm-sized bunny charm into Luo Qianqian’s hand, "Look, your sister has got some gains."

Over there, He Wenyu simply smiled and without a word, shoved the plush toy into Zhang Sheng’s arms, who was closest, holding dozens of plush toys cluelessly while Ye Chen stood by chuckling without any intention of helping.

Zhang Sheng had to call out to He Wenyu, pleading, "Xiao Yu, what are you doing?"

He Wenyu turned around lazily, "I’ve given them to you; do with them as you wish," watching Zhang Sheng’s stunned look with no intention of helping. After all, she knew how many things Luo Qianqian had in her room, there’d be no space to put them otherwise, and they wouldn’t even be going back... Thinking of this, and remembering Jimo Cheng’s advice, she quickly took out her phone to send the location for dinner, for Jimo Cheng was right, waiting for Luo Qianqian to remember would surely be too late.

Seeing Zhang Sheng’s baffled look, Ye Chen suggested, "How about giving them to the kids around here?" Seeing the eager kids nearby, it did seem a little awkward for a big guy like Zhang Sheng to be carrying all those toys.

"Humph, given to me, why should I give them away? Go get me a plastic bag," Zhang Sheng seriously instructed Ye Chen, "A big one, big enough for these plush toys."

Helplessly, but resignedly, Ye Chen went to find a bag, "Okay, wait a moment."

Luo Qianqian frowned in surprise at He Wenyu’s actions, "Then what’s the point of catching them for so long?"

"Just showing off," He Wenyu admitted, eyeing the little bunny in Luo Qianqian’s hand. "But I miscalculated, there’s no room at home, and you’re going back after the vacation."

With a sympathetic look toward Zhang Sheng who was behind her, Luo Qianqian lightly shook her head, "Giving them to a guy, you really had a thought."

"He was just closest," He Wenyu said matter-of-factly. "But I really have improved my skills quite a bit."

While waiting for Zhang Sheng and Ye Chen to deal with the heap of toys and slowly making their way forward, it took them almost fifteen minutes to cover a distance of less than fifty meters. Looking at the big bag of toys, the door greeters were stunned, but seeing the number of people, having one for each seemed just about right.

"Let’s sit at separate tables," seeing that the largest table inside only seated eight, Yuhao suggested, "Divide into groups by hand shapes."

"No need, couples can sit separately," Tang Chen and Fu Mingxue, feeling somewhat awkward, took a seat for two.

"Girls, let’s sit together," Luo Qianqian, He Wenyu, Zhang Jingjing, Li Qi, and Jiang Qian also sat down together.

"Hey, hey, hey, what’s the fun in this, leaving us guys to look at each other, competing over who can eat more?" Zhang Sheng immediately protested He Wenyu’s suggestion, "It’s bad enough that we see only guys at school every day, even the teachers are male, and now you want to deprive us of the rare pleasure of admiring girls?"

"Then you guys can decide three more to come and sit here," He Wenyu giggled, pulling Luo Qianqian to sit down, totally unfazed.

"You’ve learned some bad tricks," Luo Qianqian commented neutrally.

"It’s all about perspective; I think I’m doing quite well," He Wenyu responded calmly.

In the end, Ye Chen, Jiang An, and Qiao Xiyang were the only guys left at their table.

He Wenyu waved cheerfully at Zhang Sheng, who was grinning from ear to ear.

Yuhao naturally chose the table right behind Luo Qianqian’s, even though he had to turn around to talk, but it was still pretty close.

"Why do I feel like we’re the only ones left out?" Fu Mingxue looked innocently at Tang Chen, who was all smiles across from her.

Tang Chen quickly waved his hands and handed the menu to Fu Mingxue, "What’s there to talk about with them? Talk to me, I understand everything," he said earnestly, his ears twitching slightly, making Fu Mingxue cover her mouth and giggle. The two of them then began to sweetly place their orders, not caring about the situation at the other tables.

"Xiao Yu, you’ve been monopolizing Qianqian for so long, come on, let’s switch," Luo Qianqian, sitting at the innermost, waved He Wenyu over.

Watching Luo Qianqian nod, she could only move one seat outward to let Qiao Xiyang sit next to Luo Qianqian, with herself sitting next to Qiao Xiyang, and Jingjing to her right. Directly across, in order from nearest to farthest, were Li Qi, Ye Chen, Jiang Qian, and Jiang An.

He Wenyu noticed that Jingjing turned a bit pale when she saw Jiang An sitting across from her.

In the steakhouse, where everyone had chosen steak as their main dish, the other buffet dishes were all picked up by the table of boys. As for the two lovebirds, who knew?

The girls all had orange juice as their drink, while the boys had various colors. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

"Did you finish your homework?" Seeing Qiao Xiyang about to start asking her all sorts of gossip again, she immediately used her lethal technique.

Qiao Xiyang gave a pained smile while covering his head, "Why did you have to become the very kind of person you used to hate?"

"You don’t understand; it’s really fun when he said that," Luo Qianqian said, curving her lips.

Pei Yuhao turned around and said to Qiao Xiyang, "She’s just short of asking you how your grades are and then clicking her tongue and shaking her head in disdain. Saying things like ’that won’t do, you need to work harder,’ she would really be just like an annoying gossip aunt."

Luo Qianqian raised an eyebrow, "Yo, little mouse, how are your grades?"

"Heh," Gu Yanzhi, sitting next to Pei Yuhao, chuckled coldly.

Luo Qianqian pursed her lips to suppress a laugh. Pei Yuhao hadn’t even said anything yet, and a cold chuckle had already revealed his embarrassment.

"Me? Even if I’m not as good as this guy," he pointed at Gu Yanzhi, "I’m still better than Li Qi."

"Why bring me into your conversation?" Li Qi suddenly became unhappy. Who wants to lose face in front of an old friend they haven’t seen in a long time? Her almond-shaped eyes widened, and she glared menacingly at Pei Yuhao, "Today, because Qianqian is here, I’m not going to hold it against you. Just wait until school starts."

Pei Yuhao shrank his neck, still defiant verbally, "Scared of you? As if you wouldn’t threaten me with collecting homework."

Luo Qianqian raised her eyebrows, watching the two banter, her eyes smiling.

"Qianqian, can you come over here for a moment? I have something to tell you," Jiang An suddenly stood up, his face flush with color.

Jingjing’s face suddenly lost all color.

Luo Qianqian calmly nodded her head, stood up, and squeezed out from the narrow aisle, while disdainfully looking at Qiao Xiyang, "You’re the most cramped in the back; you need to lose weight."

Qiao Xiyang looked at his own figure, speechless. Where had he gained weight?

Gu Yanzhi frowned as he watched the backs of Luo Qianqian and Jiang An leaving the room.

He Wenyu, looking at Jingjing’s pale face, "Jingjing, are you okay? Do you feel unwell anywhere?"

Jingjing weakly shook her head, "Do you guys know why we broke up?" Seeing Jiang An leave, Jingjing seemed somewhat distraught, resting her elbows on the table and her hands against her forehead.

He Wenyu’s heart suddenly sped up. Could it be what he was thinking?

"It’s over, and it’s over. Qianqian is right; there are plenty of good-looking guys in college," He Wenyu immediately said.

Pei Yutian also passed over a tissue to console her, "Don’t hang on one tree; a whole forest awaits you in the future."

"Because," she said, "he didn’t want Luo Qianqian to be too far ahead of him. He apologized to me, saying that the girl he liked was someone he needed to chase after with all his might."
