Chapter 583: Chapter 563: The Stance of the Luo Family (Part 4)

Luo Yanran didn’t know exactly what was going on, but he knew his buttocks were swollen from being whipped by Luo Xihan’s belt because he couldn’t protect his sister.

But what exactly could have made his father, a president with greater concerns than the world itself, utter the words "the Will of Heaven"?

He couldn’t figure it out, but from his father’s words, he clearly knew the matter was related to Luo Qianqian.

The next day, he had left home two hours earlier than usual, heading to the place he had agreed to meet Qin Nuan. The area where he had been beaten was still swollen, but he didn’t want it to affect his dignity as a man, so he endured it. Today’s schedule had already been planned, and he couldn’t let this minor issue affect it.

Luo Yanran and Luo Yanwu went on a date with Qin Nuan and Cong Rong, while Luo Qianqian at home was enduring various types of training.

"Keep your back straight, the books must not fall!" Walking back and forth in the living room with three books on her head, and following the commands of Jia Ning and her in-laws, she maintained a smile as she practiced walking and even drinking water. Luckily, there was no place to sit; otherwise, she would have had to practice sitting postures as well.

After a night of fluid intake for health, Luo Qianqian was able to speak normally, though her voice was still a bit raspy, and her neck had been treated with five eggs and two tubes of ointment to make the dreadful mark considerably lighter.

Before going downstairs, Luo Qianqian still obediently wrapped a bandage around her neck, fearing she might frighten her family.

"Second Aunt, I just drank six cups of water, and now I urgently need to relieve myself..." Luo Qianqian said with a pained expression. It’s the Qixi Festival, couldn’t Second Aunt go out on a date with Second Uncle or something? That morning, she had seen Grandfather give Grandmother a pot of blooming roses.

"Maintain the posture, the books must not fall. Go on," Jia Ning said reluctantly. She also felt sorry for Luo Qianqian, but they couldn’t neglect these much-needed etiquettes out of pity. If she wasn’t strict, Luo Qianqian would embarrass the Luo family tomorrow.

Luo Qianqian understood this as well, so she had not complained, complying with whatever she was asked to do.

"Mom, should we let Qianqian try on the shoes?" Ye Qianying brought out the shoes she had prepared earlier; the dress was also set aside. They all understood that the sensation of wearing high heels versus flats differs, and adapting now doesn’t mean adapting well to high heels.

"Are these shoes too stiff?" Yue Tingyu took out the shoes from the box but frowned as she was overly critical—usually, she wasn’t as picky even when buying shoes for herself.

"I also feel they are a bit stiff, but the heels on this pair are too thin," Jia Ning said, frowning deeply. They didn’t mind wearing such as they were accustomed to it, but Luo Qianqian was still a child.

"She has to go through it sooner or later..." Ye Qianying sighed and pulled out the pair with the lowest heel, "Let’s start with these."

Watching her aunt and grandmother worry, Luo Qianqian felt immensely guilty. She came out and earnestly learned everything, bearing silently with issues like high heels causing discomfort. It took her a whole morning to adapt from discomfort to comfort.

Old Master Luo had stayed hidden in the upstairs study the entire time and did not participate in any of this.

"Alright, Qianqian, try on the dresses now," Yue Tingyu said, looking at the three evening gowns hanging on the side. These weren’t for three people but all for Luo Qianqian alone; one was custom-made by the Luo Family, one was brought by Old Master Luo when he returned home earlier that morning, and another was prepared by Luo Xiying.

The Luo Family’s custom-made gown was a bright red silk, its halter-neck design elegantly showcased Luo Qianqian’s slender neck and muscles on her arms as well as her visible collarbone, without any distracting colors. The bright red, denoting the main wife in ancient times, also signified Luo Qianqian’s indisputable place in the Luo Family.

The one sent by Luo Xiying was a blue, modified cheongsam that had a touch of classical charm, with slits that ended at Luo Qianqian’s thighs, complete with matching jewelry and shoes.

Old Master Luo brought home a moon-white long dress early in the morning. The asymmetrical hem revealed Qianqian’s slender legs, and the floor-length train was sufficiently grand. The off-the-shoulder design, along with a large bow at the waist, showcased Qianqian’s figure beautifully.

"All are well made. Which one do you like, Qianqian?" Yue Tingyu nodded repeatedly, "The red one is lively, the teal one is elegant, the white one, pure—all beautiful."

Qianqian pursed her lips and giggled covertly, "It’s genetics, I can’t help it." She said, winking at Yue Tingyu.

Yue Tingyu burst into laughter as well. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

Only then did Qianqian put on a serious face, "What colors are Nuannuan and Cong Rong wearing?"

Jia Ning was taken aback and looked at the dress from the Luo Family, "Nuannuan’s is orange-yellow, and Cong Rong’s is light blue." Because Qianqian was the protagonist, only her dress had a solid color choice.

"Then I’ll pick the white one." Qianqian winked playfully, "Orange-yellow is close to red, light blue is close to teal. Wouldn’t choosing those make one person look out of place?"

Hearing this explanation, Jia Ning, who was preparing the dresses, felt more reassured and patted her on the head, "You think more thoroughly than I do. Anyway, you need to prepare a dress for Chang Xi’s wedding too, so this saves some money."

"Sister Xi would definitely prepare clothes for me, Second Aunt is overthinking it." Qianqian worn a cheeky grin and collapsed onto the sofa, looking pleadingly at Yue Tingyu, "Grandma, I’ve been drinking water all morning. I want some solid food for lunch." Her whiny tone made everyone laugh. Who made her drink so much?

Yue Tingyu couldn’t help but laugh and nodded, "Alright, I’ll make something dry for you. Do cookies and bread sound dry enough?"

"No, no, I want real food. Nothing outside is as delicious as what Grandma makes." Qianqian shook her head earnestly.

They still ended up eating some takeout at noon because they had booked a beautician in the afternoon, and time was running short. Calmly, the four of them let Luo Xihan, who brought the food, drive them to the beauty salon. When they emerged again, it had already grown dark.

Qianqian and Yue Tingyu were fine—they just had skin maintenance, a SPA treatment, and a relaxing massage. Ye Qianying and Jia Ning went to get manicures and casually permed their hair. Qianqian watched half-sleepily as her grandmother rubbed various creams on her face and enjoyed several massages before the two women finally showed up.

"Wow, Aunt looks super sophisticated with her new hairstyle, just like a piano teacher." Ye Qianying had her long hair cut into a stylish shoulder-length, and with her sleek, jet-black hair, the look was very sophisticated.

"Aunt doesn’t pull it off as well. She looks more like Fourth Brother’s sister." Qianqian pouted, but her words left both women laughing uncontrollably.

Jia Ning had gotten large waves permed into her hair, which had also been dyed a chocolate brown—not the trendy explosion of curls nor bangs in style these days, but a middle part instead.

"You, my dear, shouldn’t eat too much tonight no matter how sweet your words are." Jia Ning cast a playful glance at Qianqian, then turned to Yue Tingyu who was slowly getting up, and said with a laugh, "Mom, you must’ve secretly taken Qianqian to eat honey, haven’t you?"

"Grandma should really come here often for skin care. Don’t you look a few years younger?" Ye Qianying cheerfully turned to Yue Tingyu, smiling warmly.

"Grandma naturally has a beauty that’s hard to forsake. She doesn’t usually take care of her skin to prevent aunts from getting jealous. Aunt truly doesn’t appreciate Grandma’s kind intentions." Qianqian covered her mouth, teasing the old lady in good fun, only to receive a sharp flick on her head from Yue Tingyu.

"Did you sneak out and eat honey or something? It’s so sweet that it could give an old lady like me diabetes."
