Chapter 1129: Quarreling Top Guilds

"It would seem that we have quite a bit to catch up on." Izroth said as his gaze traveled upward to huge bird in the sky.

He then continued, "But, that will have to wait until we leave this place."

The Gate of the Separati had been destroyed and the spatial tear that Izroth created had already closed. However, the destructive energy in the surrounding space was expanding rapidly in all directions. Soon enough, it would engulf the entire secret underwater base.

At this point, even if Izroth did not have the remaining Lightning Soldier manually activate the base's self destruct sequence, it would only be a matter of time before the destructive space took care of things for him.

'Hm?'

Almost immediately after Izroth said they were leaving, the huge bird turned into a white streak of light that fell from the sky and rushed toward Izroth.

"Coo! Coo!" A series of happy coos sounded as the white streak stopped on Izroth's shoulder.

Before Izroth knew it, the huge bird had shrunk down in size to a point where it could fit snuggly on his shoulder. This bird was, of course, Selene.

"Coo~" Selene softly cooed as she gently rubbed her head against Izroth's cheek in a show of affection.

'Is she able to change her size at will?'

"You've grown, Selene." Izroth said with a light smile on his face as he placed his hand carefully onto Selene's head.

'Just what happened to the two of them during the time I was gone? Are these changes related to what was on the other side of the Gate of Separati? There are too many questions that need to be answered. Since I've done everything that I needed to do here, it's time to leave Kifa Karsts and head to the location of the Trial Dungeon.'

A while back, Izroth put out a bounty on Vault and all the members of the Headhunter Syndicate. It was such a huge event that caused not just the top guilds to move, but also made many hidden dragons reveal themselves to claim the reward.

That's because the bounty Izroth placed on Vault was too good to ignore. Not only would he grant the person who eliminated Vault 10,000 gold coins, but he would also allow them to make a single request.

Haishe, the new leader of Fatal Touch, was the first player to slay Vault and claim the reward Izroth set up. As a result, Haishe requested Izroth's aid in attempting a Trial Dungeon.

Unlike normal dungeons where defeating a boss monster was the main task, Trial Dungeons placed a heavy emphasis on one's profession. In this case, the Trial Dungeon Haishe wanted Izroth's help had to do with the Apothecary profession.

Needless to say, even if they were uncommon, it should not be hard for an organization like Fatal Touch to have one or two grade two Apothecaries. Or, at the very least, they did not lack the funds to hire one.

For them to request Izroth's help knowing that he was the owner of the Mystical Realm Palace could only mean that the required test of the Trial Dungeon was beyond that of what a grade two Apothecary could handle. Outside the fact that this would be his first time attempting a Trial Dungeon, Izroth was curious as to how it would test an Apothecary's skill.

Of course, Izroth had not let go of old grievances with Fatal Touch. He had not forgotten that their previous leader, Silent Steps, dared to go after those under his protection. Not to mention, Silent Steps also had unknown ties to the shadahi.

Nevertheless, Izroth was a man of his word. Since Haishe was the one to claim the bounty on Vault's head, he would honor the promise he made. Additionally, it appeared that Haishe and Silent Steps were never on good terms and that he was the one mainly responsible for causing Silent Steps to lose his position in Fatal Touch.

That being said, in the end, Izroth would not tolerate those who sided against the Mortal Realm with the shadahi. If he found out that Fatal Touch was related to the shadahi and it was not just Silent Steps acting alone recklessly, Izroth would not hesitate to send them down the same path as Sage Falls.

"Let's go." Izroth stated as he, along with Empyrean and Selene, quickly began to make their way out of the secret underwater base.

...

A few moments ago, not too far from the secret underwater base's entrance...

Swoosh! Bang! Graaaaaah!

An intense battle was taking place between Polkentin's Failed Chimera #395 and some of the top guilds of Kifa Karsts, who allied together to protect the secret underwater base as part of the vicinity quest, To Dream of Being Divine.

"How dare you bare your fangs at me, beast!" A voice roared that came from the space before the failed chimera.

The voice belonged to a burly young man who went by Slow Slumber. Those who saw or heard his name for the first time could not help but scoff at it made him sound lazy by nature. However, his strength was definitely above that of the average player in RML.

At the moment, Slow Slumber held a shield in his hand that had just blocked the chimera's attack. In his other hand was a sword, which he thrust forward to launch a counterattack against the beast. Of course, he was not alone.

"Everyone, do not let up on your attacks!" Umi voice's echoed from tens of meters away.

Umi was Broken Exile's section leader in Kifa Karsts and also the one appointed by everyone to lead the top guilds in this vicinity quest.

The next moment, a rain of needles shaped using water and mana poured down on the Failed Chimera, causing it to cry out in pain.

Name: Polkentin's Failed Chimera #395(Epic Boss)

Level: 70

HP: ??? (0.98%)

The Failed Chimera's HP had finally fallen below the 1% mark. However, the moment it did so, the attacks on the creature slowed down as everyone suddenly went on high alert.

"The moment its HP fell below one percent, everyone started attacking half-heartedly. How predictable." Umi uttered to herself.

"Who would have thought that we would run into a wounded boss monster right as we entered this place? And a level 70 epic boss at that. Seeing the way this quest was set up, it's most likely a first kill. If that's the case, the loot that it drops will be of greater value. I can't miss this opportunity." Umi thought to herself as she swept her gaze over the battlefield.

Umi was not alone in her thoughts. The other section leaders from Hollow Tempo, the Headhunter Syndicate and Mist Palace all had the same idea.

As for Defiant, since Slow Slumber was only filling in for Defeaning Silence, he did not dare to covet the boss loot and risk his guild members being a target.

Seeing that the boss monster's HP was now falling at a snail's pace, Umi was the first to speak up.

"Alright, I'm sure everyone here has the same thoughts in their mind! But, we must think long term! Even if this is a epic boss monster, it won't drop more than five or six pieces of equipment! As long as we work together to finish the quest, we're all guaranteed at least an epic item treasure chest! So, here is my proposal—my Broken Exile will pick up the loot and divide it among the guilds present! Are there any objections?!" Umi suggested.

"Section leader Umi, it's not that I don't trust you or Broken Exile, but it's not uncommon for one's heart to change in the face of treasure. This matter—I suggest you leave it to our Mist Palace." Mist Princess commented.

"Ha! Leave it to you two? Do you think we're stupid?! Once one person has the loot, who's to say that they won't try to run off with all of it?!" Off Beat, the section leader of Hollow Tempo roared.

"How about we all join the same party and roll fairly for the loot? That way, we all have a fair chance of obtaining what we want." Clutch, the Headhunter Syndicate's section leader suggested.

Clutch silently grit his teeth. The Headhunter Syndicate's strength had been reduced too much thanks to the bounty he placed on them by the owner of the Mystical Realm Palace. Therefore, he had no choice but to suggest such an approach. Otherwise, how could he be willing to share treasures with other guilds?

"You want your Headhunter Syndicate to get the same piece as the rest of us? Keep dreaming, trash! You and your guild barely contributed anything to this fight!" Mist Princess scoffed.

"Who are you calling trash you mist bit-!" Clutch snapped back, but was cut off by Umi.

"Enough! At this rate, our alliance will collapse. Mist Princess, Off Beat—we will divide the loot evenly between our guilds. As for the Headhunter Syndicate and Defiant, they have not contributed enough to warrant a part of the reward. What do you two have to say?" Umi said with a cold gaze in her eyes.
