Re: Timeless Apocalypse-Chapter 124: Wine
During his evolution, through Timeless Resonance, he’d broken his limits countless times and reached the true ceiling of the G-Rank.
He already had a limit-breaking Pioneer Method.
"Haha!"
And for the G-Rank, his Pioneer foundation was already perfect.
All that remained was for him to perfect his method in the coming weeks, or even push it so far that the system perfected it for him.
By that point, he’d be living up to the legends of Primordial Pioneers of old, all without needing to risk his life for universal treasures or spend centuries meditating.
Atop this, if he managed to comprehend the truths of his Prime-Sworn Path and the so-called layers of the body... he’d be unstoppable.
He couldn’t help but laugh.
...
After calming down, Uriel’s excitement and desire for improvement began to burn brightly within him, but before jumping to training, he decided to slow himself.
He had a few more important questions to ask.
"What is a God Path? And how is it different from a regular path? What even is a path, in a tangible manner?"
[It is advised you comprehend these truths through your own enlightenment lest your path be cut off due to my intervention.]
[Would you still like me to answer?]
"No, no," he exhaled deeply, "it’s fine, I guessed as much."
"Well, I guess I only have two more important questions," he stood up from his stool and stretched as he spoke. "What is elemental anchoring?"
[The true path of aether mastery lies in the manipulation of the world, the void, and life, and the crucible that binds these three into one is the elements of heaven.]
[Such a path, that of Elementalists, is opened only to God Path wielders and highly attuned individuals.]
[When a mortal’s natal aether becomes refined enough, their lesser energetic nature is shed and their natal essence evolves to embody their natural elements.]
[Elemental Anchoring is that process, the transition from lesser natal aether to its true superior elemental form.]
[Gaining access to Elements, and thus becoming an Elementalist, opens the path to true aether mastery and lights the way to the depths of the natal and atmospheric.]
"I see, that’s interesting, I guess," he walked back to his mini camp, snapping a finger to light his fire back on.
As he stood, deep in thought, as if already within his mind, his tool continued to speak.
[Mastery of the elements comes the same as mastery of aether for the simple fact that they are one and should not be divided.]
[Your elements are a manifestation of natal aether and your natal aether is a manifestation of the elements; they are two sides of the same coin.]
Standing facing the brazier of flames, Uriel was silent.
The sound of cracking and burning wood echoed, the titanic cave lit by the flickering flames and their warmth washing over him, fighting against the cold hanging around.
Each exhale and inhale summoned swaths of fog, only making the eerie crimson glow of the cave all the more horrifying.
In the sombreness of the cave, with his bonfire only lighting up his surroundings, it seemed like he was trapped in a dark abyss of faint crimson fog...
He didn’t seem to mind, though. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
The years spent in the prison had made him quite used to solitude, let alone darkness or environments he wasn’t familiar with.
"..."
He only had one more question left.
"What is a Legacy Event? Where am I?"
[When numerous mortals, within an enclosed space, each perform impressive feats beyond their usual limits, the gods can extend their providence and open a Legacy Realm, thus causing a Legacy Event.]
[The Legacy Realm is a type of Dimensional Space where the gods can pass down their legacies to the mortals who attracted their attention and provide a plethora of rewards which may help them.]
Uriel took a sharp breath in.
’So those eyes... were Gods.’
He’d been hearing the word God a lot recently, but he truly didn’t know how to fathom such a truth. He’d known Gods to exist since the first day of the apocalypse thanks to the Supreme Spirit, but still, he found himself shaken.
Were these Gods truly the absolute and almighty entities he’d heard in the tales his grandmother often recited to him?
Those that crafted the stars and seas with a thought, twisted the void into endless chaos of worlds and bent lie to truth and truth to lie — these Gods?
Those ruling over Paradise and Heaven alike?
Having that thought made him realise what the essence of Ascendance was.
’Godhood.’
To awaken the spark and walk the path of Ascendance was to strive for Godhood and the heavens.
And as a Pioneer, he was paving the path to an entirely new strata of divinity. He was forging a road upon which countless future Gods would use to ascend.
He was building his Godhood.
Realising this left him feeling almost... anxious.
How had things sped up this much, so suddenly?
’I’m thinking too much. I may die before I even make it past the first step, let alone reach Godhood. All I need to do for now is focus on surviving.’
’Surviving and finding the truth.’
He refocused on his tool.
"Where exactly is this Legacy? Am I supposed to explore the tunnels and find it?"
[No. For the legacy you must...]
...
Hours passed.
After receiving the answers he needed, Uriel spent long minutes calming his mind and sorting his thoughts.
For some reason, he felt himself feeling much more... loose.
’That’s funny.’ He giggled.
It reminded him of the one time at the church, years ago, when he and Lilith had sneaked into one of the many storage rooms of the primary buildings.
They’d originally gone there to hide from Arthur, who was mad at them for skipping one of their mandatory training sessions.
As the oldest of the three, he’d been charged to find a punishment for them since the offense wasn’t serious enough for Mother Hadith to get involved.
They hid in the storage rooms of the church, and there they found strange bottles of dark glass filled with fruity juice that smelled like the potent solutions they applied to their wounds after sparring sessions.
Wine.
In their folly, they both ended up drinking a crate of six bottles each, ending up drunk and woozy, laughing for hours upon hours, their bell-like laughter echoing so loudly Arthur found them in no time.
And when he found them... he joined them.
The memory made Uriel warmly smile.
’I miss them.’
