Chapter 82: 82 - Nyx & Emmeranne

"Finally..."

Raven mumbled as soon as he got back in his dorm. Ruby brought him there and was still with him.

"Are you okay, Raven?"

Keara asked. She was, unsurprisingly, already there in the dorm waiting when Raven, Levina, and Ruby arrived.

"I’m fine."

Swoosh~

Raven then replied as he started transforming back to his original body.

"Oh my..."

"Oh..."

"That’s some damn nice glow-up."

Levina, Keara, and Ruby respectively weakly muttered when they saw Raven’s new appearance.

They couldn’t help but blush— even Ruby!

They had just heard about Raven’s new appearance from the news Kendy brought to Ruby, and she told what happened to Levina and Keara.

There were also a lot of students gossiping and spreading rumors about it, so it was hard to miss the news.

So they knew that Raven revealed his true appearance(?).

’But we didn’t know he was this handsome...!’

Ruby, Keara, and Levina exclaimed in their heads in unison. They didn’t expect such difference.

"I thought you were gonna stay and talk with Aoi and Adelle longer earlier."

Snapping the three from awe and daze were Raven’s words aimed at Ruby.

Ruby got startled a little, but she immediately regained her calm.

"Well, I don’t like them being touchy with you so I left."

She then replied teasingly, which is why Raven didn’t notice that she was actually telling the truth.

"Hey, I wasn’t able to touch you even once when you were in that furry form!"

Levina, who was in her humanoid form, exclaimed. She felt wronged for some reason.

Ruby sent a smirk to her.

While Keara just smiled awkwardly at Levina when she said that.

"I will let you pet me the next time I transform into that again."

Raven, who had no energy to argue with anyone at the moment, just promised that to Levina.

"Hmph... Fine."

Which was a good strategy, as Levina didn’t complain anymore and just puffed her cheeks as a form of pouting.

Though, he already had a solution to make her stop pouting completely.

He stood up and headed to the kitchen area.

Then Keara, Levina, and Ruby followed him like baby ducklings following their mother out of habit and curiosity.

"Who wants to eat?"

Raven asked in a casual tone.

"Meeeeee!!!"

Levina immediately exclaimed.

"Then me too, please."

"Me too."

Then Ruby and Keara followed.

"Then one of you guys, please prepare the table."

Raven instructed.

"I’ll do it."

"I’ll help too!"

Keara quickly volunteered, and Levina decided to help her.

"Thanks, you two."

Raven muttered and smiled at them. Keara and Levina then smiled back and started preparing the table for them to eat on.

When only Ruby was left watching him, Raven opened his mouth—

"I’m sorry for asking you a lot of things but... Are you done with the favor I asked you?"

He asked her in an embarrassed manner.

Ruby shrugged her shoulders before responding to him.

"That’s not even a favor, as you paid me even when I told you that you didn’t need to."

She declared.

"I just feel uncomfortable about the thought of not paying someone after making them work hard."

Raven then replied to her.

Ruby just stared at him for a couple of seconds before smiling and opening her mouth.

"Anyway, I’m done with your request. And that’s not all— there are deliveries for you too."

Swoosh~

After saying all of that, Ruby didn’t let Raven celebrate nor even reply to her news, as she immediately took out a sword and a gun from her spatial storage.

Ruby’s spatial storage was in the form of a golden bracelet on her right wrist.

"...!"

Raven’s eyes widened after seeing the sword and gun in her hands.

"Finally!"

He exclaimed. He was about to run toward Ruby... But then, he remembered that he was cooking.

So with an unsatisfied frown, Raven decided to finish that first.

’Ruby and my weapons wouldn’t run away from me. But the food I’m cooking might go bad if I left it.’

He inwardly grumbled.

"Hehe..."

Ruby couldn’t help but chuckle at Raven’s reaction. And after that, she just continued watching him cook.

...

After a couple of minutes, Raven finished cooking...

And because he didn’t want to make the others wait— he decided to set aside his curiosity about his weapons and Ruby’s news for now and started eating with the girls.

They finished not long.

*****

(Raven’s POV)

Friday, [9:00 PM]...

"Velcro came and gave this to me, saying he doesn’t want to see you in person..."

Ruby, who was in front of me, said that.

"Well, if I were him, I wouldn’t want to face the kid who kicked my ass either."

I shrugged and casually looked at the items in Ruby’s hands.

In her hands were a plain black handgun and a sheathed katana.

The sheath of the katana was obsidian black and embroidered with white realistic lightning on both sides.

Thump— Thump—

My heart started beating faster as I saw that. And it got worse as my body heated up after seeing the handle.

It was dark red and had a white crescent moon embroidered on both sides!

Thump— Thump— Thump—

I was getting excited like a kid who was getting his new toys!

""Pfft—!""

And seeing me like that— Ruby and Levina both laughed at me.

That’s when I noticed that they were looking at me. Keara didn’t laugh but was just smiling awkwardly.

"Ehem..."

I immediately calmed myself down and faked a cough to shrug off my embarrassment.

"Well, if you may..."

Then, without further ado, I took the katana from Ruby’s grasp. I placed it on the left side of my waist.

But I remembered I had no sword holster at the moment, so I made one myself by using the [Celestria].

Whoosh~

Then, after attaching the katana to my waist, I next took the [Nyx] from Ruby.

The three were just looking at me with anticipation, as if they were excited about my new equipment too.

Ruby, Keara, and of course Levina knew that I had an appraisal skill, and a high-level one at that.

So they wanted to know the specs of my new weapons through me.

And because I trusted them, and they trusted me too... I didn’t decline their request.

"Appraise."

I muttered, pretending to activate a skill.

’Hey system! Appraise!’

But that was what I said in my mind.

[Okay okay... I want to tell you that you look like a child, but not gonna lie, I want to see the descriptions of your upgraded and new weapon too.]

The system then honestly said before projecting [Nyx]’s new description in front of our faces.

Swoosh—

=====

[Nyx]

– The last product of the greatest unnamed gunsmith that ever lived, and it was upgraded by the heir of The God of Fire and Metalworking.

– Increases all of its capabilities and effectiveness by 40%.

– Has a passive skill <Concealed Shots>

<Concealed Shots>

– Lessens the sound and spark the gun produces when shooting.

– Unique skill <Elemental Bullet>

<Elemental Bullet>

– Inject any elemental attribute into a bullet.

– Can add up to 3 elements at the same time.

=====

"What the fuck...?"

I didn’t curse out of disappointment—I cursed out of lack of words to say.

Just seeing the 40% buff was enough to make me happy!

But seeing that the skill <Magic Bullet> of the [Nyx] had turned into <Elemental Bullet> was just overkill that made me speechless.

And after reading the description of the skill <Elemental Bullet>, it almost made my heart stop.

My hand that was holding the [Nyx] trembled a little.

I’m not that much of a materialistic person. I can live with just Wi-Fi, a phone, and food without any problem.

I know that can change over time now that I possess a lot of money—and will have more in the future. Probably.

But currently... I can confidently say that I’m not materialistic.

Though after seeing [Nyx]’s specs, it made me greedy enough to slap Blake for no apparent reason a hundred... No, a thousand times just for this gun!

"Raven, there’s also a letter. Here."

Snapping me out of my daze was Ruby’s sweet and alluring voice.

Looking at her, she was holding a paper, and her hand was extended to me.

"Oh, thanks."

I took it from her hand.

And immediately, I started reading it—

=====

Hello Raven, I put my all into upgrading your [Nyx], but I don’t really know much about gunsmithing, as it’s not popular anymore after mana and magical materials started popping out.

But all I can tell you is that this gun is definitely made by someone great’s hard work and effort, so I really tried my best working on it.

And now, [Nyx] has enough firepower to pierce through [C] rank awakeners’ tough skins and armors!

I’m pretty proud of the result!

...

...

=====

I’d only saw up to that part as I quickly shifted my eyes back to [Nyx] after reading that.

"Fucking awesome..."

I muttered weakly as a satisfied smile crept up on my face.

Then I turned my attention back to the letter in my hand.

I started reading it with my mind so Levina could know the content too and tell it to Ruby and Keara.

’Then, the next is the sword...’

I glanced at the sheathed katana at my waist.

’I was able to identify the mysterious material you brought to me with the help of my skill, [Vulcan’s Heir]...’

I started paying more attention to the letter, as those words caught my interest.

’It was a mineral from the moon of a planet called [Zarall], and I have no idea what or where that planet is.’

’But after being Vulcan’s heir, I inherited a lot of information about minerals and smithing... This Vulcan god knows a lot about the material you brought me.’

My brows furrowed after reading that, and my mind got complicated, but I still continued reading anyway.

’The material is sturdy—so sturdy that it can be called a legendary material that only exists in myths!’

After reading that part, I started slowly unsheathing the sword at my waist as I read Tyrone’s words in the letter.

’Anyway, the sword was the best thing I’ve made and will probably remain as that. It has amazing abilities and capabilities!’

’I made it while imagining you as its owner!’

’A sword that will grow alongside you.’

’A sword named after your taste.’

’A sword that will cut every enemy you encounter.’

’And a sword made just for you...’

’The name of that sword is—’

SHIIIK—

It was then that I completely pulled the sword out of its sheath.

Its pure black and beautiful blade that seemed to destroy anything was revealed, making every strand of my hair stand up as a chilling sensation crept over me.

=====

[Emmeranne]

– Made by the heir of the God of Fire and Metalworking.

– It’s the first thing made by the heir after becoming the successor. Increases all of the weapon’s skills and abilities by 25%.

– The heir considers this sword their best masterpiece. Increases all of the sword’s abilities and capabilities by 30%.

– This sword was made with a huge amount of concentration, effort, and time. Increases the sword’s mana, magic, and element compatibility by 25%.

– Has a unique skill <Shadow>.

<Shadow>

– Turns any part of the sword into a shadow that can pass through anything.

– Has a unique skill <Partner For Life>.

– This sword is currently ownerless. Inject mana to be its owner; then, after that, no one else will be able to use the sword other than you!

=====

With my eyes still on the sword’s description.

"Emmeranne, The Shadow Blade of the Dark Moon..."

I blankly muttered that.

It was the full name of the sword written in the letter from Tyrone.
