Rihanna observed the priests of the Holy Church closely, her sharp eyes narrowing.

At first glance, the statue of Magnus appeared just like any other sacred idol, a mere representation of the God of the Sea, revered by the people of the island.

But that was a lie.

Something about it felt off.

She had already noticed its unnatural properties—the way it could shrink and expand at will, as if responding to the desires of its wielders.

Her gaze darkened, and she muttered under her breath,

"That's not just a statue, is it? It's a treasure."

But the more she analyzed it, the more her instincts screamed at her.

This was no ordinary treasure.

First, there was its affinity to water, seen clearly in the flowing beards of liquid cascading down its stone face—water that never touched the ground, as if trapped in some eternal loop of motion.

Then, there was its deadly effect.

Anyone who dared move before it was instantly turned to stone, their life force ripped away in an instant, as if the very concept of existence was stripped from them.

And now, it was changing size at will?

This was beyond rare.

A weapon treasure with dual capabilities was already a priceless artifact—but this was something even worse than that.

This was a treasure imbued with dual energies.

Her fingers twitched, and subconsciously, she licked the side of her lips.

Who would have thought that such a powerful artifact had been sitting right here on this tiny island, disguised as nothing more than a religious symbol?

Or maybe...

Her mind raced.

Maybe it really was a gift from Magnus himself, an object blessed by the so-called God of the Sea.

It didn't matter.

Now that she had seen it, she wanted it.

Even though she wasn't an Elemental user and likely wouldn't be compatible with such a treasure, it didn't matter.

Weapon treasures were just too rare to pass up.

After all, the one she used now—a simple necklace wrapped around her throat—was merely a defensive treasure.

It had only a 10% probability of defending against sudden attacks, and it boosted her overall prowess by 2%.

2% might seem insignificant, but in battles between high-ranked cultivators, even the smallest advantage could tip the scales between victory and death.

And compared to this statue…

Her necklace was nothing.

Her grip on her weapon tightened.

If she wanted it, she would have to act fast.

Rihanna raised her eyes to the statue, and for a brief moment, her greed flashed before her like a vision—a future where the treasure was hers, its power bending to her will.

But in the next instant, she forced the desire down, masking it behind a composed expression.

Unfortunately, the Chief Priest had already seen it.

Still, she remained calm, stepping forward with measured grace. "I did not come here to the island of Magnus, the Sea God, to fight," she stated smoothly. "Rather, I am here to capture criminals who threaten the seas and the peace of it."

The Chief Priest's gaze darkened as he scrutinized her, his long white beard swaying with the salty wind that climbed the island from the crashing waves below.

Then, in an instant, his expression twisted into something far more terrifying. His voice was low but carried undeniable authority as he muttered,

"Heretic! How dare you not bow before the statue of the great Magnus?"

The moment the words left his lips, Rihanna felt a deep, icy chill crawl up her spine.

She had seen this man take down Brandon in a single attack.

And Brandon—despite being her rival, someone who could match her in combat even though she was of a higher rank—had fallen instantly.

Now, standing before this priest, she could barely sense his energy, as if he were nothing more than a frail old man.

But she knew.

She knew with absolute certainty—this man was at least a Gold Ranker.

She frowned. "Screw this!" she yelled, surging forward with reckless abandon.

The tusks on her face flared, glowing a bright pink as her body moved with deadly precision. In one swift motion, her hand shot to her side, and with a sharp metallic ring, she unsheathed her sword.

Her spiritual energy churned like a fierce storm, crackling in the air around her as she launched her technique—

"Thousand Fang Barrage!"

At once, a barrage of razor-thin spiritual slashes shot forth from her blade, each one like a crescent fang of energy slicing through the air. The technique was relentless, a long-range assault meant for sustained fire—an overwhelming rain of countless, consecutive strikes that could wear down even the strongest of defenses.

As she attacked, her warrior's instinct sharpened. She had seen what happened to the Knights of the Holy Church when they got too close to the Statue of Magnus. Their bodies had turned to stone in an instant.

That meant there was a threshold, a limit to how close she could move without risking the same fate.

Her mind calculated the safe distance, and she made sure not to cross it.

The slashes rained down on the Chief Priest, each one tearing through the air with lethal force.

But—

With a mere wave of his hand, the earth trembled.

From the ground, clay and sand surged forth, crawling up the Statue of Magnus like living tendrils. The material merged with the statue's body, causing it to expand even larger, forming a towering barrier against her attacks.

Then—

The Chief Priest raised his palm and slammed it against the back of the statue, his voice ringing out like a divine decree:

"Face of Magnus."

Instantly—

More statues of Magnus materialized, appearing all around the battlefield, as if forming a sacred prison meant to trap Rihanna.

Rihanna knew that she had been right about this priest being an earth user, and therefore unae yo bring forth the full possibilities of this treasure, but then again, either the loss of one advantage came the maximisation of yet another.

"DIE!" The priest declared like judgement.
