Re-Birth Of A Genius. Creator/Destroyer-Chapter 2122 His City
Sam looked at the two spectators. Even the young man who actually shot the bullet was stunned.
He had his mouth wide open and his whole body trembled. He couldn't believe that he was the cause of that destruction just now. Of course, there is good reason for that. The young man is a mortal plane cultivator, but the attack could kill a person at the later stages of the Astral Plane.
There are very few minutes that could accomplish that feat.
Like some special formations, high level inscription scrolls or some artifacts with special enchantments.
But that is about it. Even to access them, people need certain level of strength. Even Sam had to pay heavy price whenever he had to deal with people higher than his own strength. Only he always knew how to obtain the cost required for it.
The handguns however, are much cheaper. A man in mortal plane can buy this and shoot someone from Astral Plane, if they could close the distance enough.
One bullet is all it needs if the other person is just an average level person. The best part, they don't even need to use their own spiritual energy. The trigger will spark an energy reaction within the gun's body which will ignite the bullet's motion. The bullet hits the target and that's it.
Sam walked up to the still shocked waiter and took the handgun back.
He removed the magazine and placed a different one inside. The first magazine is a fire elemental magazine. It had twelve bullets and now eleven. Each bullet had a special attack engraved on it. The second magazine however has ice elemental bullets.
"Shoot once again."
Sam said and stepped back.
The waiter gulped and tried to wipe his sweat over his sleeve before he aimed his trembling hand again.
*BOOM*
Another explosive sound. Another crack on the metal plane on his chest and another destroyed wooden dummy. Only this time, icy blades started sprouting out of the dummy and it soon crumbled into pieces.
Sam turned to the two spectators and waved his hand. A bunch of magazines all of different color floated in front of him.
"You can pick anything you want. We have elements, curses, we even have ones that could heal you. You want to try more?"
Joran almost nodded his head vigorously and Ivar actually did.
"I want to shoot one." He said and stepped forward. The waiter carefully handed the gun to the large man. He was also about to take off his metal plate and glove, but Sam stopped him.
"He doesn't need it. These are astral plane attacks. He won't get any backlash."
Ivar nodded and just shot the gun. Ice attacks landed on the dummies destroying them. Each attack was different and he doesn't have to use any energy at all.
Ivar only had one thought in his mind.
It's fun.
He emptied the whole magazine. Sam stopped him and pulled out the magazine. He refilled it with new bullets and set it back. He then passed it to Joran who eagerly took it and started shooting.
"So, these are handguns. I want you to sell it. I don't care where you want to sell it, but I want you to open a special kind of business in the Thalassa territory. If you are open, we can discuss further."
Sam explained when Joran was done shooting.
He nodded and all three of them went back to that private room. The discussions were long and exhausting. For the rest of the day and even through the night Sam, Ivar and Joran were in heated negotiations and various business ventures. Sam took out many of his ventures to make a deal with Joran.
In fact, the business exceeded what Ivar was initially told.
As they discussed, Joran also got a clear idea on what Sam was expecting out of this deal. Apart from massive income, there are many other things and most of them were related to the Thalassa family.
"It seems like Thalassa family hurt you greatly. To think that you would spend so many valuable things just to get back at them." Joran said with a knowing smile. He felt like he figured out Sam a bit.
Sam didn't reply. Neither confirming nor denying it. In fact, there is no point in denying it. It was very apparent based on his actions that the Thalassa family has been his target from the start.
They exchanged a few more pleasantries and Joran finally asked.
"Are these all the businesses or is there something else that you can offer?"
"What do you want?"
"If all these are indeed your creations as you claimed, I need you to help me out with something. If you are up for it, we can meet a week later at the same place."
"Alright. We can talk in a week then."
"Thanks. Please to meet you and your friends."
Joran said with a smile. Sam shook his hand and just smiled in return. Ivar frowned at what Joran said, but he didn't speak.
"Oh, don't forget this." Joran took out a crystal jar and passed it to Sam.
"I almost did. Thanks." That is the blood of the illuthralith. With all the deals they made, he didn't even have to pay for it. His new business partner gave it to him as a gift.
Sam and Ivar left the restaurant and walked through the streets.
"What did he mean by friends? Did he misspeak?"
He wondered out loud, but Sam shook his head.
The next moment, small shadows shot out of various corners of the city and merged with his own shadow before the shadow mice disappeared into his divine dimension.
"He meant these."
Ivar looked at them with a frown.
"He spotted shadow mice?" Even Ivar with his vastly higher level of strength compared to Sam will have a hard time if all Shadow mice did was hide in shadows. So, how can Joran spot them. Particularly from what he could see the shadow mice were sent to different corners of the city.
Not a single one of them were inside the restaurant. And Joran hadn't left the restaurant.
Sam chuckled at Ivar's confusion and explained.
"Whatever estimation you had of that guy, rewrite it. He is far more intelligent and resourceful than you think."
"Why so?" Ivar didn't even appear offended. Usually people in Norse region feared what would his reaction would be if they misspoke. He was that fearful. Here Sam is directly lecturing him.
"You said, this planet is kind of an overlapping zone right? Even though it is officially under Sjor family control, there are too many influences that are wresting in power here."
"That's right. That is why Joran was sent here by some family politics."
"No, he wasn't sent here. He came here willingly. The city that you see, it is not a hotspot for multiple powers as you imagined. In fact, the whole city is Joran's."
Sam said as he looked at the beautiful city and its structures. A faint smile on his face.
Ivar was stumped.
"What?"
"Everything you see in this city. From these cobble stones, to that fancy cobbler shop in the former and the guy that is acting like a cobbler, everything belongs to that guy.
This city is his lair.
The restaurant is the core of this city and that private room is the core of that core. Every single person in this city is working for him. The person that came in as a wanderer, the city guard, the city lord, the artisan, the thief hiding in the corner, the beggar on the streets and the peasant donating to that beggar.
All of them are acting."
Ivar stopped and looked around him, with his eyes and mouth wide open. For a man as dangerous as him, he gets shocked so easily.
"How is that possible?"
"With enough planning anything is possible.
If I am not wrong, he should even know that you stole those recording crystals. In fact, he is even listening to our conversation right now."
Sam smirked as he looked at the restaurant.
At this moment, within the private room Joran sat leisurely in his comfy seat as he looked at the projection on the wall.
He could see Sam watching at the restaurant. It almost looked like Sam is looking directly at him.
And Sam is right, he is indeed listening to what Sam is saying.
Ivar suddenly felt a bit naked.
"Why? Why would he do this?"
"To create a cover. A perfect cover. He is planning something big. That's why I went above and beyond with the business deals. I want to see what kind of waves he will create."
With that Sam and Ivar left the city.
Joran laughed out loud in his private room.
Sam is indeed right. This is his city.
And he is indeed planning something big. Something that will overturn his status in his family and even his family's status as a whole.
