Chapter 175: Putting In A Good Word, And Unexpected Combat

Chieftain Jin stared at the two of them for a few moments before letting out a chuckle.

He went back to where he initially sat and then gestured for Nyzzara to approach.

She seemed puzzled, but approached and sat beside the chieftain.

“Nyzzara, my dear daughter, what do you think of this man?” Chieftain Jin asked, and the moment he did, Rael’s brows twitched.

I had a hunch… but what is up with their family if none of them even look remotely close to one another?

Despite that, Nyzzara paused in thought before turning to Rael.

“I’d say he’s definitely strong. But he’s also a manipulative man,” she explained. “When we first met, he exploded a stable, and then sent a decoy to inform us of our ancient axe, which was supposedly hidden in Aztera.”

Well… this is not the best start, Rael thought with a frown. But maybe it gets better?

“Then he literally invaded my mind. Of course, his deal was too good to pass up, so I took it. Worst-case scenario, we continue starving. Best case? All our problems are solved.”

As much as Rael wanted to see the light at the end of the tunnel, it seemed like the only positive thing she had said about him was that he was strong.

Nonetheless, she finished with the hunt.

“As for the hunt? I’m not sure how he cleared it. It’s supposed to be impossible, as not even our ancient warriors managed to clear it. They were forced out of the dungeon after two weeks, and most of them had died by then,” Nyzzara said, and turned back to the chieftain.

“So what I’m saying is… he’s a hard man to trust since he bends to no one’s will except his own… and maybe his wife’s…” she added. frёewebnoѵēl.com

He saw a smirk appear on Zafira’s face, but when she noticed that he saw it, she quickly steeled her expression, acting as though nothing had happened.

Rael sighed and waited for the chieftain’s judgment.

However, even after several minutes had passed, he had not uttered a single word.

That was until the chieftain suddenly stood up, and before Rael could react, he was kicked out through the roof of the castle.

When Rael finally realized what was happening, he was high up in the sky, and soon, he began falling.

But before he could drop down, he saw Chieftain Jin blast out through the roof of his own castle and appear right before Rael, catching him by the collar.

He had a crazed look, every muscle in his body flexing. Yet at the same time, what was more surprising was the fact that Chieftain Jin was standing in the air.

His feet literally broke apart the space around them.

“What in the actual fuck is wrong with you?” Rael muttered. “Do you greet all your guests this way?”

Chieftain Jin chuckled as he took several steps down and brought Rael alongside him.

After a few minutes of stepping down through air as though it were a flight of stairs, they finally arrived at some sort of stone arena.

There was dried blood scattered everywhere, and the stone of the arena itself was heavily cracked.

But despite that, Chieftain Jin released his grip on Rael and then took a few steps back.

“Young man, I see your determination. However, I want to know a bit more about you—”

The chieftain’s words were interrupted when, all of a sudden, a purple slash appeared out of thin air.

It traveled incredibly fast, and of course, it was aimed straight for the chieftain’s neck.

However, before it could reach its mark, the chieftain simply punched the air, and despite the large amount of mana that was inside the purple slash, it scattered.

The moment it did, he finally saw Zafira with an angry expression on her face standing not too far away.

Zafira was holding Nyzzara by the neck, choking her.

“I thought we could do this the nice way,” Zafira muttered. “But since that’s not the case, I’ll give you an offer. Back off and let us leave. If you refuse, then I’ll kill your daughter here and now.”

Rael whistled in amusement as he dusted himself off. “It’s fine, Zafira, put her down.”

Zafira’s brows twitched. “But then we won’t have any leverage.”

“If he wanted to kill me, he’d have done it by now.” Rael sighed and turned toward the chieftain, who was still unsurprisingly smiling

“I can’t say I like you barbarians. You have this masochistic way of dealing with things. Definitely not my style,” Rael said, and then gestured at Zafira again. “Just let her go for now.”

Zafira stared at him for a few moments before suddenly twisting her body around and hurling Nyzzara off into the forest.

Then, she simply walked into the arena and stood beside him before glancing at the chieftain.

“Since you so rudely interrupted the talks, we’re going to deal with this as two rulers. It’s only fair, right?” Zafira said plainly.

“Be my guest,” Chieftain Jin replied with a shrug. “The outcome will not change. But alas, I’m not here to kill you. I only wish to measure your resolve.”

“Right… of course.” Rael scoffed and took out his violin blade. “Old man, I hope you have a lot of HP, because if you don’t have at least a few billion, then you’re going to die very quickly.”

“HP? You mean that stat?” The old man raised a brow. “I have 450,000 HP. It’s not a lot, but it’s enough.”

Enough…? Rael tilted his head. I do tens of billions of damage. Does he seriously think I won’t even be able to hit him once?

His thoughts were interrupted when, all of a sudden, Chieftain Jin stomped the ground with all his strength.

Immediately, Rael and Zafira were launched into the sky, and in the next moment, a few sharp pieces of debris were sent flying toward the two of them.

Rael took a deep breath, focused, and tapped the red string with his rapier.

How hard can it be to land a single hit?
