Chapter 983: Chapter 983: As It Should Be

Easton Holmes followed Lily Turner’s gaze and looked over, seeing the car parked at the courtyard gate. He recognized the car instantly; it was Alexander Shaw’s.

Does a family visit need to be this grand?

He expected her sister to come, but he didn’t anticipate Shaw Family’s parents would also come.

"Honey! What are you daydreaming about while standing there? Hurry up and open the trunk." Lily Turner was already at the back of the car, but Easton Holmes hadn’t come over yet. When she looked up towards him, she realized he was staring at the other car, lost in thought.

Hearing Lily Turner calling him, Easton Holmes quickly gathered his confused thoughts and closed the car door, walking over to her, "I’ll carry the stuff, you don’t need to worry about it."

As he spoke, he had already come over, opened the trunk, and bent down to take out the items inside.

"There are too many things, let’s carry them together."

Lily Turner reached out to grab the items in Easton Holmes’s hand, but he dodged her and avoided it. She looked at him and didn’t try to take them again, turning instead to close the trunk, and walked towards the courtyard with him.

Nearing the front door, she quickly took two steps forward and beat him to it, unlocking the door with the key, holding the door for him to enter first with the items, then following him inside.

"Dad! Mom! We’re here!"

After entering the house, Lily Turner shouted loudly towards the direction of the living room.

Hearing her shout, Christopher Turner, Sophia Wood, and Alice Turner, who were sitting in the living room, quickly came out. Seeing Easton Holmes carrying many items with both hands, Christopher Turner hurried over to him.

"Just see you guys, no need to bring so many things, it’s quite heavy." Christopher Turner reached out to take some of the items from Easton Holmes’s hands, to lighten his load.

Easton Holmes didn’t stand on ceremony with his father-in-law, letting him take some of the items from his hands. As he was about to say something, Lily Turner spoke first: "All these things are specially prepared for you and mom by Easton."

She emphasized the word "specially" to ensure her dad knew how these things came about, speaking the absolute truth that Easton had indeed prepared them without her involvement.

"Really? Thank you so much."

Upon hearing the items were specially prepared by Easton Holmes, Christopher Turner’s smile became even more pronounced, his happiness prompting him to express gratitude to Easton Holmes.

Easton Holmes gave a smile: "It’s the least I can do."

Witnessing such a harmonious scene, Alexander Shaw and Isla Lane experienced complex emotions, hoping their son would mature sensibly someday.

Their son often spent time with his good friend, yet seemingly hadn’t absorbed any positive influence from him.

After a brief exchange, Easton Holmes and Lily Turner joined the three others in the living room, spotting Christopher Turner and Isla Lane standing by the sofa.

"Uncle! Aunt!"

Lily Turner then realized whose car she saw earlier, and greeted them politely as she walked over.

Isla Lane responded with a cheerful smile: "You’re here."

Her face was relaxed and happy, though inside, she felt deeply troubled and frustrated. Her own troublesome son was truly a handful.

Two such wonderful sisters happening upon their two good friends, who recognized their fortune and cherished it. Yet, her troublesome son — she wished she could open up his head to see what he was actually thinking.
