Amber Wood deliberately slowed her pace. After what happened just now, she didn’t want to rush out and meet those onlookers again. Putting aside the embarrassment for a moment, the key issue was that there might be some familiar faces among those guests.
Should she speak to the acquaintances outside? The situation just now left her feeling both angry and extremely embarrassed.
To avoid that kind of situation again, she intentionally slowed her steps to a crawl.
It was unclear if Charles Thompson shared the same thought as Amber, but his steps were much smaller than usual, walking at almost half his usual speed.

Alice and Lily Turner, waiting outside, had no clue about the situation. As Charles and Amber remained inside for an extended time, both sisters wore expressions of confusion.
The sisters seemed to have a telepathic connection; they turned and glanced at each other simultaneously, then looked towards the door in unison.
After staring at the doorway for a while, as they were about to step forward to check out the situation, the couple emerged from inside.
Seeing Charles and Amber come out, both Alice and Lily breathed a sigh of relief and walked towards the courtyard gate.
At the moment Amber stepped out, she noticed Lily and Alice standing not far from the entrance. She glanced at the courtyard gate and saw that there were very few cars left. She walked towards the two sisters.
She had a lot to clarify with Lily, and now seemed like the right moment.
Charles walked ahead and did not notice Amber heading towards Lily and Alice. He continued walking briskly toward the courtyard gate.
Alice and Lily were walking from the side, and they noticed Amber approaching the moment she did.
"Sis! Henry Thompson’s mom is coming over."
Lily, thinking Alice hadn’t seen Amber approaching, tugged at Alice’s sleeve as a reminder.
Alice, however, thought Lily was afraid of Amber. She patted her arm, "With your sister here, you have nothing to fear from her."

Lily had never been afraid of Amber. In the past, she had held back in Amber’s presence not out of fear of this woman but because Amber was supposed to be her future mother-in-law, and she didn’t want to cause a scene.

Now that she had no relationship with the Thompson family, she had no concerns at all. She felt no need to be wary of this woman.
