Chapter 513: Chapter 513: If you’re not uneasy, why would I be?

Alice Turner didn’t expect to run into Benjamin Shaw here. She initially wanted to slip away before he noticed her, but she didn’t manage to get far before he spotted her.

It wasn’t that she was afraid of him; she just didn’t want to face him, especially when she was in a bad mood. She couldn’t be bothered to deal with him.

Since she’d been discovered, she might as well greet him before leaving.

Alice took a deep breath, slowly turned around, and looked at Benjamin Shaw, who was standing at the elevator entrance. She walked towards him with heavy steps, a polite yet blunt smile on her face.

"You’re not feeling guilty, so why should I?" She paused and then added, "I’m not like some people who come here to do shady business."

When she said the last sentence, she stared at him without blinking, a mocking expression on her face, her eyes full of disdain.

Benjamin Shaw’s eyes had no issues, his ears were perfectly fine, and his mind wasn’t muddled. Alice Turner’s words were laced with sarcasm and disdain for him, not to mention the obvious expression on her face.

"Listening to you, it seems like you’re very interested in my affairs?" He suddenly took a step forward, getting close to her, and looked down at her, "You’re so concer..."

Before he could finish, she pushed him away forcefully.

"I’m interested in you?"

Alice sneered at Benjamin Shaw, her eyes filled with even more disdain, "Benjamin Shaw! Stop being so vain!"

With that, she gave him a mocking pout, then walked past him to another elevator and entered it.

By the time Benjamin Shaw snapped back to reality, the elevator Alice entered had already closed its doors. He didn’t chase after her but stood there watching the red numbers flash on the elevator.

Alice didn’t go straight to her floor but went up one extra floor instead. She got out of the elevator and walked down one level to return to her room.

In fact, Alice’s actions were unnecessary, as Benjamin Shaw didn’t follow. He stood by the elevator for a little while and, seeing the elevator stop on a floor, turned and left.

But Alice, who was upstairs, wasn’t aware of this. After reaching her floor, she locked the door and stood behind it for a long time. Only after she heard no noises from outside did she walk further into the room.

Once inside, she lay face-up on the sofa, staring at the white ceiling and thinking about things.

Ding dong! Ding dong! Ding dong!

Upon hearing the doorbell, Alice instantly sat up on the sofa, instinctively turning her head to look at the door.

Did that man really chase after her?!

He shouldn’t be that bored, should he? This is a hotel, not their apartment; if he wants to act out, no one will care about him here.

Ding dong! Ding dong! Ding dong!

While Alice was imagining things by the door, the doorbell rang again. She dispelled the thoughts in her mind and got up to walk to the door.

When she got behind the door, she didn’t open it immediately. Instead, she turned sideways and pressed her ear against the door to listen. She didn’t hear any movements.

She straightened up and asked through the door crack, "Who is it?"

If it was indeed that man knocking, she definitely wouldn’t open the door for him.

"Miss Turner! Hello! I’m a waiter from the hotel front desk. Your friend bought some items and asked me to deliver them to you." Hearing that the person knocking wasn’t Benjamin Shaw but a waiter from the hotel front desk, Alice didn’t hesitate any longer and reached out to open the door.
