Chapter 435: Chapter 435 Unexpected Guest 4

After hearing Grant Heath say that, Alice Turner didn’t bother with any more niceties with him. She felt a bit embarrassed facing him because of the lie she told on the phone last night which got exposed today.

To ease the awkward atmosphere, she picked up the bowl and spoon that Lily Turner had just used for her chicken soup and walked over to the sink to wash them, in an effort to soothe her own embarrassment.

She ended up washing a single bowl and spoon for several minutes, and the only sound in the entire hospital room was the sound of her washing dishes.

Grant Heath, sitting alone on the sofa, also felt awkward. He wanted to leave, but he was reluctant to do so.

Just when he was feeling conflicted about whether to go or stay, Lily Turner, lying in the hospital bed, spoke up, "Grant! You’ve already visited me, and I’m perfectly healthy. If you have things to attend to, go ahead and do them. There’s no need to linger here."

His presence in her hospital room made her very anxious. The paparazzi are very perceptive and will spring into action at the slightest hint of something happening.

If they found out about him, then her stay here would be exposed. She wasn’t afraid of the paparazzi finding out that she was married and pregnant.

Her concern was that the journalists might dig deeper, and her family would get dragged into the chaos. She didn’t want to see that happen.

Getting married and pregnant should be a good thing, but the paparazzi often take things out of context. Sometimes they even twist things around.

Being harassed by the paparazzi is highly unpleasant, and she has already suffered enough from it. She couldn’t let her innocent family suffer because of her anymore.

"I have nothing to do today."

Grant Heath stood up from the sofa and walked briskly to the side of the hospital bed, towering over Lily Turner who was lying in it. He stood there without saying a word for a long time, just staring at her without blinking.

Lily Turner felt uncomfortable under Grant Heath’s unblinking stare. She sat up, "It’s good then, take the chance to rest at home. You’re usually so busy, a chance to relax doesn’t come by easily."

She was stating the truth and had a valid point, but she was unsure of how he would take her words.

He wasn’t leaving, but she couldn’t forcefully push him out either.

"Lily is right, you’re usually busy. Since you finally have a chance to rest today, why not take this opportunity to go home and rest?" Seeing Grant Heath stand up and walk over, Alice Turner promptly put down the bowl and spoon in her hand and followed over.

However, she didn’t go to the bedside but stayed a little closer to Grant Heath.

Her intention was simple, to keep an eye on the potentially dangerous Grant Heath. Her sister was the one who needed protection now.

Both sisters seemed eager to send him away, and Grant Heath felt quite frustrated, but recalling what just happened, he suppressed the irritation within him.

"Sister! I’m not tired."

Grant Heath turned to tell Alice Turner and then looked back at Lily Turner, who had sat up in bed, "There’s nothing for me to do if I go back, so I might as well stay here and spend more time with you. It’s been a while since we last met, I want to..."

Squeak!

At the sound of the door opening, Lily Turner’s eyes immediately darted to the doorway, and seeing that the person entering was Easton Holmes, she breathed a sigh of relief. At least it wasn’t the paparazzi.

Seeing Easton Holmes walk in, Alice Turner’s heart skipped a beat. This was exactly what she was worried about, but at this point, it was meaningless to try to persuade Grant Heath to leave.
