Chapter 373: Chapter 373: Believe It or Not, It’s Up to You

Lily Turner’s face was awash with tears, and when Easton Holmes suddenly burst in, she hadn’t had time to wipe them away. Her long, curled eyelashes were studded with tears, and as she blinked, the drops fell precipitously.

"Why are you crying?"

He looked down at her tear-streaked face and hesitated for a moment before using his hand to wipe away the tears from her cheek.

"There’s no particular reason, I just felt like crying."

Lily said somewhat guiltily. To conceal her own unease, she lowered her head and pretended to wipe her tears with her hand, avoiding the man’s somewhat intense gaze.

Having been with Lily for so long, Easton could easily tell whether she was being truthful. With one hand, he lifted her chin to make her look directly at him.

"Feel like crying? Do you think you’re in a movie? Cry when you want, do whatever you like."

He didn’t believe her explanation; there had to be something she was hiding in her heart.

"Believe it or not, I can’t be bothered to explain to you."

Lily pushed away his hand that was cupping her chin and struggled to pull back her other hand, but his grip was too tight, and several attempts were unsuccessful.

She stopped wasting her energy and looked down at his hand holding hers. "Can you let go of me first? I need to wash my face."

The pain in her heart was something she would endure alone; she couldn’t let others suffer along with her.

Moreover, this pain was inflicted on her by her mother, and she couldn’t bring herself to speak about it.

Easton wanted to ask what was going on, but seeing Lily’s firm evasiveness, he knew if he pressed further, she would definitely get angry.

After giving her a deep look, he released her hand.

The moment her hand was freed, Lily immediately walked to the sink, turned on the faucet, and bent to wash her face.

Although she was washing her face with her head down, she could feel the man standing at the door staring at her, so she quickened her pace.

After washing, she checked her reflection in the mirror to ensure nothing seemed amiss, and then she followed him out of the bathroom.

"Let’s go upstairs and pack."

Easton took Lily’s hand, who was about to head to the living room, and redirected her towards the stairs, leading her back to their room.

Once back in the room, when she started to pack, he sat her down on the edge of the bed, "Tell me what you need to take, and I’ll pack for you."

Having said that, he turned and opened the sliding closet door. Glancing at the clothes hanging inside, he turned back to look at her seated by the bed, waiting for her response.

"How long will we be staying at Grandpa’s?"

Lily didn’t follow Easton’s instructions to sit patiently by the bed but instead got up to stand beside him. Even though they had been married for so long, she still felt bashful letting him pack some of her things.

Seeing her come over, he frowned slightly but didn’t push her back onto the bed. He turned his head to look at her, "We might stay for a long time this time. If you feel bored at Grandpa’s, we can come back for short visits."

He couldn’t be sure of the duration of their stay; in his mind, the timeline was until after the baby in her belly was born. He didn’t know if she thought the same.

"I won’t feel bored."

Apart from here and Mr. Lee’s, Lily didn’t want to be anywhere else. In a few days, as her belly grew bigger, going out wouldn’t be as convenient.
