Chapter 1020: Chapter 1020: She Takes the Initiative to Kiss Him

Alice Turner hinted at something just now, and Thomas Fisher heard it very clearly. His mind was as clear as a crystal. He put down the rice he had just picked up, tilted his head, and smiled at her. "Yes! We have plenty of time to be together in the future. For now, I’ll take you back to rest."

He was foolish enough to think she hadn’t noticed anything, but she had understood his thoughts from the start.

He really overestimated his ability to do bad things. In the future, he’d better be honest in front of her; otherwise, if he accidentally makes her angry and she ignores him, he’ll end up hiding in the bathroom to cry.

"Let’s go look at houses after work tomorrow." After starting the car, Alice suddenly brought up the subject of looking at houses again. That man kept coming around her house these past few days, and she really couldn’t stay there any longer. There had never been a time when she wanted to move out of that house more than now.

It wasn’t that she was worried about what that man might do to her; she just didn’t want to be under the same roof with him, nor did she want the man next to her to let his mind wander.

Hearing this, Thomas was momentarily stunned, but he quickly gathered himself and nodded at her. "Okay, I’ll wait for your call after work tomorrow."

He really wanted to pick her up from her company, but he was worried that her colleagues might see and gossip about her, so he decided to hold back and wait for her call to summon him.

"Okay."

Alice just responded with an "okay," which counted as a reply to Thomas.

He glanced at her, turned the car around, and drove away from the riverside.

On the way to take her back, he didn’t make any presumptuous moves. He drove the car normally, speeding up when necessary, overtaking when possible, and slowing down cautiously when needed.

Tonight, Alice didn’t let Thomas drive her to the apartment building. When they reached the entrance of the community, she asked him to stop the car.

He understood why she did this and didn’t object. He slowly pulled the car over to the side and stopped.

"I’ll head back then."

As Alice turned to open the car door to get out, she seemed to suddenly remember something. She quickly turned back around. Under his puzzled gaze, she leaned over and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.

After the kiss, she swiftly opened the car door and got out.

Once out of the car, Alice didn’t leave immediately. Instead, she bent over outside the car and waved to Thomas inside. Seeing her wave, he quickly snapped out of it and rolled down the passenger side window.

"Be safe, and send me a message when you get home." He leaned forward, looking at her standing outside the car, waving at him with reluctance on his face.

"Got it, you be safe on your way back too. Goodbye!" Alice waved goodbye to Thomas in the car before turning and walking into the community. She knew he wouldn’t leave so soon, so she quickened her pace as she walked into the community.

As she walked through the community gate, she waved back at him, indicating he should leave.

She wasn’t sure if this method would work, but she just wanted to do it for him.

Thomas understood Alice’s wave meant for him to leave, but he didn’t follow her cue immediately. He watched her walk through the community gate until she was out of his sight before slowly retracting his gaze.

Even then, he didn’t leave; he leaned back in the car seat, waiting for her to message him.
