Vritra looked at his stats and level. This time he had exchanged quality for quantity, since the giants were too weak for him, so the number of giants he had killed was incredibly high.
So he was able to obtain quite a lot of experience points, otherwise he wouldn’t have levelled many levels above 200.
Yasmine had told him one important detail:
"Although high stats represent high strength, levels are there for a reason. It might not be obvious now at such levels, but at very high levels, each level makes a big difference. Otherwise, wouldn’t a level 1 with 1000 points in stats obtained by using various weapons and artifacts be able to defeat level 1000?
So stats and strong skills do make a big difference, letting you fight stronger opponents, but with each level up, your overall combat strength increases on its own."
Vritra understood her words. It just meant he had to be careful when dealing with opponents of a higher level. Stats might not always show who is stronger.
Plus, a dragon at level 1000 could easily wipe out an army of goblins who are all at the same level, but that also means that a dragon would need more EXP to level up.
So, Vritra now needed even more experience points. Thankfully, he had an endless supply of experience points.
"Now, it is time to take my battle rewards." Vritra looked at all the corpses of the giants that lay behind him.
Taking out lots of mana regeneration potions, he began to raise the dead and turn them into Soul Wraiths. Since the giants were of higher level, he needed to use even more mana.
At least, with Nihil-Anima gradually healing, he could raise as many of them as he wished, and now he didn’t want a weak army— instead, an extremely strong team even if it was small.
It took almost a day to raise several thousand giants from the dead, since he used most of the corpses he had collected to turn them into Soul Wraiths too.
And finally, after a day’s hard work, he stared at the status window displaying the number of Soul Wraiths.

SOUL WRAITH INVENTORY:
Goblins: 31,638
Orcs: 26,267
Trolls: 22,964
Lava Hounds: 18,267
Minotaurs: 13,443
Demon Giants: 22,371
++++++++++++++++
Vritra had stored lots of corpses in his inventory; that was why he was still able to get more Soul Wraiths.
"That’s a very big number, easy to create a very big chaos, but they will do little in real battle," Yasmine spoke and added:
"If you let them devour one another, then the resulting Soul Wraith would be countless times stronger and could easily wipe out an army of the same type. Leveling for them is easier than us, even more so as Soul Wraiths who could directly devour one another. So go ahead and try it."
"Alright, I’ll keep a few strong warriors of each type of demon. Let’s see how the result turns out." After speaking, Vritra called out all the Soul Wraiths.
The cave darkened as more than a hundred thousand Soul Wraiths appeared, covering a large distance. They arranged themselves under Vritra’s command and stood in their own groups.
"Now go ahead and start devouring each other. The victors will be rewarded later." Vritra spoke in a thundering voice.
In the next moment, the whole death canopy was filled with the loud roars of all the Soul Wraiths. Under his order, they began to devour one another. With each swallow, their aura grew intense, and their strength increased rapidly.
Whether it be goblins or the demon giants, all of them were going wild. Although they had little intelligence, the only two thoughts in their minds were kill and devour.
Vritra observed the brutal scene for a while. It was definitely going to take quite some time before they would be done. He was quite interested in seeing the final Soul Wraiths.
Turning around, Vritra pulled out a table and chair from his inventory and sat down on the chair before pulling out the mysterious black box.
"Hmmm, Yasmine, do you have any idea how we could open this thing? Can it be done forcefully?" Vritra asked while observing the puzzle.
"I really have no idea, not to mention that I don’t know this ancient language. Even if one knows, this puzzle is extremely difficult to solve. As for opening it forcefully, that’s highly unlikely. That is why I am sure it holds something very valuable." Yasmine said in a pondering tone.
"Yeah, this box alone is so strange. So to open this box, either I have to first learn the language or find someone who does. The second option is not possible. I don’t want to reveal its content to others, so I have to learn it somehow." Vritra mumbled while tapping at the box.
"Yes, so I don’t think we will be able to open it anytime soon." Yasmine sighed. If it was so easy to open, then it wouldn’t have remained like that for so long in the temple.
"..." Vritra remained silent for over ten minutes, then he extended his right hand, and a knife appeared in his hand.
It was made of gold and diamonds. Vritra took it only because it looked good and expensive.
"I told you, you can’t open it forcefully, especially not with a flimsy knife. What are you planning?" Yasmine stared curiously at her strange husband, who was completely unpredictable.
And true to this remark, Vritra raised the knife and then put the tip on his chest, right in front of his heart.
"W- Wait, what are you doing? Are you hypnotized by someone? But there is no one here! You don’t have to hurt yourself just because you couldn’t open it!" Yasmine spoke hastily, worry filling her voice.
Ignoring her, Vritra kept the knife in front of his heart and spoke: "I know, you can see and hear everything and are aware of every detail in my surroundings.
Isn’t it your duty to let me adapt to the environment around me so that I can survive? Yes, Mutamorphis, I am talking to you. So give me a skill right now so I can read this, or I am going to pierce my heart through this knife."
Yasmine: "..."
[Mutamorphis: ...]
Vritra had a serious look on his face as he tightly held the knife. This skill helps him whenever he is in difficulty, and now this was his last chance to open the black box.
The beautiful white dragon was frozen in the air with her mouth wide open. She couldn’t believe that he had really just blackmailed a skill of his own.
"A- Are you serious? Put that knife away. We can find a way to open it later somehow. Don’t joke around." Yasmine spoke desperately. She didn’t want to become a widow soul just after a month of getting married, all because her man wanted to open a box.
