Raised From The Wild-Chapter 340: The Mad Horse
Amaya and Donello met with King Ralden and his young wife in the grand lobby. Due to Princess Amaya’s remarkable victory, the ruler of Ra-Iya opted to forgo any plans to venture out and instead enjoy a lavish dinner at the renowned restaurant located on the penthouse floor. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
"Congratulations on your victory in the Women’s Individual Archery competition. Your performance was truly exceptional, Princess," King Ralden praised with a flattering tone.
"Thank you, Your Majesty. My ability to succeed is a result of the dedication and hard work I have put into my training," Princess Amaya replied with sincerity.
King Ralden chuckled. He thought that she would say that she got lucky.
"I know you need to rest early, so I will not beat around the bush. Your cousin will be hosting a charity auction next month. I hope that the princess can support it." King Ralden was good with his words. He easily convinced Amaya.
"Of course, Your Majesty. I will support it."
King Ralden smiled, and he was devastatingly handsome when he did. "The auction will happen on the 28th of this month.
Amaya nodded, and then she studied the menu.
"Princess, I already ordered for everyone, but feel free to order if there is something you like." Lady Miranda said.
"No, it’s okay. I trust your judgment."
King Ralden interrupted the conversation with a clearing of his throat. "I hope I’m not being presumptuous, but I have another request, Princess. I’ve heard about your pharmaceutical company and the remarkable success of your traditional medicines. They seem to be incredibly popular."
Princess Amaya nodded but did not say anything.
"I would like to invite you to open a chain in Ra-Iya, of course, in partnership with your cousin." King Ralden proposed.
"Why not? I think it would benefit both of us. I’ll have my lawyer draft a business proposal, Your Majesty." Amaya said calmly.
King Ralden took a moment to study her, his gaze lingering thoughtfully. In the past few months, she had undergone a remarkable transformation. She had blossomed into a mature young woman, shedding the cloak of curiosity and naivety that had defined her when they first met two years ago. It was not easy to sway her with words.
Princess Amaya and Donello didn’t linger after dinner. They politely excused themselves and retreated to their respective rooms.
After she washed up and changed into her nightgown, she lay on her bed and was about to check her social media accounts when she saw a video call request from Ava.
Ava’s excited face filled Amaya’s screen as she exclaimed, "Sister, I am incredibly wealthy!" Her adorable grin stretched from ear to ear, framed by her black hair tied up in two playful ponytails.
Amaya couldn’t help but laugh as she watched the girl’s excitement. "Hey, how did you become so wealthy?"
"It’s not just me; Ren, Uncle Dave, and even Ancle Vasquez are involved."
"Hmm, what have you done?"
Suddenly, Ava’s cute face was pushed out of the screen and replaced by Ren’s.
"It’s the one I was talking about earlier. She created a website where people can place bets on their favorite athletes competing in the Battle of The Titans."
"I understand. It’s a relief that I emerged victorious. I can’t help but wonder what would have happened if I lost."
"How could you lose, Sister? You are so good at archery. You can never lose." Ren said with a flattering smile.
"Stop with your flattery. It will not work on me." Princess Amaya pretended to look serious.
Ren’s expression turned serious and concerned. "Someone has been searching for information about your horses. I’ve changed the name of the horse assigned to you. I fear they may take action tonight and harm your horse."
"Amaya was upset. "What? They really would stoop that low to win?" she exclaimed.
"It is just a speculation, Sis. Don’t worry, I will watch them and not let them succeed."
"Good boy," Amaya replied briefly and stifled a yawn.
"Go to sleep, Sis. You have a long day tomorrow. Good night." Ren did not wait for the princess to say anything else but directly hung up. He knew their conversation would drag on for a few more minutes before she could finally say goodbye.
Princess Amaya, exhausted from the day’s events, drifted off to sleep with her cell phone still clasped in her hand.
A gust of wind swept in from the balcony, causing the curtains to billow and a mysterious dark figure to slip into the room. His eyes were locked on the slumbering princess as he stealthily made his way towards her. With a swift, silent movement, he reached out and carefully removed the cell phone from her grasp, placing it gingerly on the bedside table.
As he was leaning in to kiss her on the forehead, a noise outside the door caught his attention. In a swift motion, he darted out of the room and onto the balcony. Before closing the sliding door, he stole a lingering glance at the peaceful, sleeping princess.
The following morning, Amaya received a message from Ren that someone indeed made a move and fed ’her’ horse some medicine. It was a slow-acting poison. The effect would start to manifest after 3 to 4 hours.
Princess Amaya ordered room service and did not come down for breakfast. She felt that someone would play a trick on her if she ate at the restaurant.
After a simple breakfast, she changed into black riding pants and a red long-sleeved top. Apollo was a white horse and she wanted to wear black and red to create a contrast with the horse. She matched her outfit with a red hat with black trimmings.
She went directly to the ranch where the dressage would be held. She visited the stables, inspected Appolo and Artemis, and was thankful they were okay.
She was the second performer, so she stationed herself with Apollo near the arena’s entrance and watched the first performer lead a horse into the arena. The girl was younger than her. Perhaps she was fifteen or sixteen years old.
The girl did pretty well during the first half of her performance; however, when she was in the second half, her horse neighed and went berserk. It was madly running toward her.
