Raised From The Wild-Chapter 306: Claim Her Treasures
When Marx and Amaya returned to the banquet hall, the guests were presenting their gifts to the crown prince.
As per tradition, the crown prince would select a dozen gifts and open them during the banquet in front of all the guests. The giver of the gift will be called on stage to provide the explantion.
"The last gift that will be opened is a gift from Princess Amaya!" The deep and pleasant sound of the emcee filled the entire banquet hall. "Princess, please come up the stage."
Marx escorted Amaya to the stage.
Amaya’s gift was placed inside a square brocade box that was 31 centimeters tall. She carefully unraveled the bow of the golden ribbon, pressed a mechanism on top of the box and it split in half.
A collective gasp was heard from the audience as a magnificent crown appeared inside a glass encasement.
"This crown is called The Heritage. I spent more than a month to complete the design. The twelve gems at the baseband represent the 12 districts of Lireya. The gems were also carefully selected to represent the colors of Lireya. Ruby red for bravery, blue sapphire for courage, and diamond for the invincible spiritual power of the Lireyan people." Amaya’s gentle voice reached the ears of the audience who were awed by the majestic crown.
Amaya bent down, took the crown from the box, and offered it to her father.
"What an exquisite crown. Look at the jewels at the baseband. There are twelve sets of each gem. That crown must cost millions." Someone from the crowd spoke loudly.
"Just how rich is the treasury for the Princess to take out so much money just to gift her father with a crown? Aren’t there so many poor people in Lireya that could be helped by the money used to make that crown?" A fat lady in her early fifties did not hide her displeasure as she uttered those words.
"What is that to you? The Princess used her treasures to make such a crown. Don’t malign her." A noble lady beside her retorted.
King Ralden’s eyes glinted when he saw the crown. He knew a lot about jewelry. Even from a distance, he could see that the jewels that adorned the crown were rare gems that cost millions a piece.
’Just how much treasure does Amaya have? How rich is she?’ King Ralden thought to himself as his gaze focused on the father and daughter up the stage.
"My Queen, it looks like your cousin has a lot of gems that she brought from the island. Why not ask her for a gift fit for a queen? It will be your birthday soon."
The smile on Zanzara’s face froze. She knew that she did not have a close relationship with Princess Amaya. How could she ask for such a gift?
King Ralden caressed her face with the back of his hand. It was a very gentle and doting act that sent electric shocks to Zanzara’s body.
"I know that my Queen is very capable. Only a capable queen could stand by my side. You can do it." King Ralden’s voice was very pleasant but Zanzara felt a chill.
Was King Ralden threatening her?
A thunderous clap filled the banquet hall when Princess Amaya put the crown on Prince Ibarra’s head.
"Happy Birthday, Daddy Ibarra. I wish you good health and long life"
Amaya was smiling brightly. For a moment, Ibarra thought that he was seeing Danaya. He was dazed for a split second but recovered quickly.
"Thank you my daughter for this beautiful gift. This will be a new heirloom of Lireya’s royal family." Prince Ibarra dotingly said. He was grinning so wide that the corner of his lips almost reached his ears.
Danella who was sitting beside the Princess Consort has a jealous look on her face.
"Mother, why do I feel that Father likes Amaya more than me?" The Princess said in an aggrieved manner. "Does Father does not like me anymore?"
"Of course not. You are the only princess in your father’s eyes."
"But Mother, look at her buttering herself up with Father and Father looks so happy." Danella protested.
The Princess Consort smiled meaningfully.
"He is happy. He has gained more power now. Look at the crown on his head. Doesn’t it look majestic?" Nelida’s shone as she looked at the crown with longing.
’Soon I will be the Queen. You see Danaya, in the end, I am better than you. It is just a pity you did not live to see this day.’
"Hmmp! The crown looks tacky and bulky." Danella harrumped.
Princess Consort Nelida chuckled.
"The gems on the crown cost millions, my daughter. If your elder sister can give that away without blinking, just how many treasures does she have? Try to cozy up with your elder sister and try to get some of her treasure." Princess Consort Nelida whispered to her daughter.
"Where is your brother?" She asked while looking around.
"Where do you think he is? Of course, he is trying to impress the daughter of the Prime Minister."
The princess consort smiled. Her son has good taste. The Prime Minister’s family was only second to the royal family in terms of prestige and wealth.
"Why are you smiling mother? Do you approve of Nadya for brother?" Danella furrowed her brows. She thought her mother had high expectations of her brother’s future bride.
Nelida’s smile froze.
"What? Who did you say your brother is wooing?"
"It is Nadya, Mother. The second wife’s daughter." Danella enunciated clearly.
Nelida’s frozen smile turned ugly. But then she thought about it. Her son is still too young. She will let her play around.
Princess Consort Nelida shifted her gaze to the stage and saw that her husband and her niece were coming down.
"Darling, let’s go great your Father. You have to grab this opportunity to cozy up with your elder sister."
Zanzara who was sitting at the other table heard the conversation between the mother and daughter. She sneered as she cast furtive glances at both of them.
’What a scheming mother. She would even use her daughter to gain benefits.’
"Why is my queen frowning?" King Ralden asked.
Queen Zanzara looked into his deep eyes and marveled at the handsome features of the King of Ra-Iya. What a handsome powerful man and he is her husband.
"The Princess Consort is plotting something and she wanted to claim the treasures on Amya’s hand."
