Raised From The Wild-Chapter 291: The Concert 3
Amaya’s fingers flew over the keyboard. Her movements were smooth and fluid.
Fiona was dumbstruck. She did not expect the princess to play the piano so well. Because she was distracted, she was a second late with her intro.
The Princess looked at her as if prompting her to start singing. Amaya sang using her alto voice. Fiona was a soprano. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
When Fiona got her momentum, she tried her best to overshadow Amaya with her powerful voice. But no matter how much she tried, Amaya’s voice perfectly blended with hers, resulting in a harmonious duet.
The notes at the last part of the song were high. It required the singer to gradually increase her volume.
As Fiona’s voice reached a crescendo, she faltered and was out of breath. Amaya noticed her predicament and supported her by using her soprano voice. She hit the high notes without any problem.
After she pressed the last few keys, the audience gave her a standing ovation.
Princess Amaya stood from where she was sitting. She bowed to the audience then turned to Fiona and murmured her thanks.
"Lireyan, please give Miss Miley a round of applause for her wonderful rendition of our very own pop music ’A Beautiful Place.’"
Everyone clapped their hands and cheered. It was only after the thunderous applause died down that the Princess of Lireya headed to the stairs to get off the stage.
Marx climbed the few steps of the stage to escort Amaya back to her seat. Fiona felt resentment in her heart as her gaze followed Marx who gently led Amaya to her seat.
Fiona made a graceful curtsy before exiting the stage. Her part was done.
Back in the dressing room, Fiona sent the expensive makeup kits placed on the dressing table crashing on the tiled floor.
"Miss Chase, please be calm! Who made you upset?" Her personal assistant asked her while she hurriedly cleaned up the mess.
"It is that "woman." How dare she seduce my fiance?" Fiona cursed.
Her assistant dared not approach her. She did not want to bear the brunt of her anger. She experienced it once. In the past, she spent two days in the hospital to recuperate from a cut on her forehead when she was hit by an ashtray. She did not want to have a take two.
She knew that Marx Skylar had broken off his engagement with Fiona and the engagement partner changed into Marx’selder half-brother, Stephen Skylar who was now the CEO of the Skylar Conglomerate. Yet, the assistant dared not voice her thoughts.
"Give me my phone!" Fiona was fuming when she gave the command.
Her assistant obediently passed her the cell phone.
"Call Dad!" Fiona spoke into the phone. She was lazy to dial her father’s number so she had enabled voice dialing on her phone.
The call connected in a matter of seconds.
"Fiona, are you alright?" A doting voice came from the other end. He was on speaker.
"Dad, as you know I performed in a fundraising concert organized by the students of Lireyan Alpha University."
"Hmmm... " The governor hummed at the other line. He was actually in a meeting with the mayors. But because he doted on his only daughter, he gave importance to her. For as long as he was not meeting an official with a higher rank than him, he would see to it to answer Fiona’s call.
"Marx was in the concert."
"Daughter, that’s great. Have you won him back? I know that he is the reason why you went to Lireya"
"Dad..." Fiona tried to sound very aggrieved. "He is accompanying the Princess of Lireya and ignored me."
"What?" The governor asked in surprise. "How can he do that?"
"Can you call Uncle Frederick and tell him to call Marx to accompany me while I am here in Lireya?" Fiona asked in a sweet voice.
Her father of course could not reject her when she spoke like that.
"Of course! I will call him right away."
After a few more exchanges, Fiona hung up. She changed into a dainty white dress and headed to where Marx and Amaya were sitting.
Dave was seated beside Marx. Marx and Amaya were seated beside each other while Julienne was beside Amaya.
The seat beside Dave was allotted to Fiona.
Fiona sat down first to avoid distracting other people who were happily watching a quartet performing on the stage.
"Excuse me, Mister. Can we exchange seats? I just have things to ask Marx." Fiona spoke in a seductive tone.
Dave looked at her then he looked at Marx. Marx however was leaning toward Amaya and listening to whatever she was saying to him.
Dave could not reject Fiona so he stood and exchanged seats with her. Marx was unhappy when he saw Fiona sitting beside him. He glared at Dave but the man pretended not to notice as he focused his attention on the performance on the stage.
"Marx, I did not know that you like to watch concerts. Last time when I asked you to accompany me, you said that you don’t like concerts." Fiona leaned closer to Marx so he could hear her as the background sound was too noisy.
"People change Fiona. Besides, I am here to accompany Princess Amaya." Marx said coldly.
Fiona clenched her fists. ’It is Princess Amaya again.’
"When are you coming back to Usturia? It has been three months." Fiona spoke in a gentle tone.
Marx snorted.
Amaya heard him. She turned to him and raised her eyebrows silently asking him what is the matter.
Marx reached out to hold her hand. His gentle squeeze was his way of saying that he was fine.
His movement did not escape Fiona’s watchful eyes. Fiona hated the Princess of Lireya all the more. She stole his man from her.
Marx’s cell phone vibrated because of an incoming call.
When Marx saw the caller ID, his brows furrowed and he store a sideward glance at Fiona.
’Does she have something to do with the call?’
Marx’s finger tapped the decline call button. He sent a message instead.
Marx: "I am in a concert and it is inconvenient for me to take your call."
Frederick: "Fiona is in Lireya. You have to take care of her."
Marx: "She can take care of herself. Besides, she has a bodyguard and a personal assistant."
Frederick was so angry he did not know what to type anymore. He tried to type a curse but deleted it before he could send it.
Fiona was full smiles when she saw that Marx was busy typing on his cell phone. Her daddy sent her a message that he had called Frederick.
She was sure that she could win back the man she loved.
