Raised From The Wild-Chapter 197: The Wedding
Amaya slept early that night. She turned off the light except for the small lamp on her bedside table.
Her royal guard hacked into the palace security system. There were cameras that he could not access because of additional layers of security but he found the camera in the Princess’s room in no time.
Amaya was sleeping soundly. The quilt covered her body safely. Only her face was visible. The camera was a bit blurred because of insufficient lighting. She was bathed with the warm glow of the dim light coming from the side. Her hair was scattered on her pillow. She looked enigmatic and beautiful in her sleep.
The guard sighed and turned off the light. He wondered if there were people watching her as he watched her. Who were they? He clenched his fist and cursed. He could not believe that King Ralden was so despicable as to install a camera even in the bathroom. He thought of hacking the cameras in the bedroom but that might be obvious and he might alert the palace security. He placed his cell phone on the bedside table. When the room turned completely dark, he closed his eyes and fell asleep.
Amaya woke up early the following morning. After a quick breakfast at the White Villa dining room, she went to the lounge prepared on the 3rd floor for the bride’s maids to have their make-up and for them to change into their dresses.
Amaya was the Maid of Honor. The role went to her because of her status as the First Princess. While she was wearing the same blush pink color as her cousins, the style of her gown was different. The dress was simple but elegant. It was an off-shoulder gown that reached up to her ankle. The material was that of duchess satin and the skirt has an overlay of white chiffon. Her hair was let down and cascaded at her back and a few curls framed her face at the front. While flower appliques decorated her skirt and silver beads accentuated her waistline and neckline. She wore a tiara on her head, a diamond necklace, and a pair of teardrop diamond dangling earrings.
The wedding would take place in a century-old cathedral which was a thirty-minute ride by horse from the palace. The church was recently renovated and funded by international organizations in charge of keeping the world heritage site. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
The bride and the entourage rode horse-drawn carriages. The bride’s maids took a six-seater carriage drawn by two beautiful white horses. Following the bridesmaids, was Princess Amaya’s carriage also drawn by two white magnificent horses. Her two royal guards were standing at the back. The most luxurious carriage was naturally that of the bride. She was riding on a catching red carriage that made her exquisite bridal dress even whiter. After the carriages were the black cars of the royal guards.
"You look very beautiful, Princess. You are prettier than the bride." the guard whispered to her when he assisted her in getting up the carriage. Amaya just laughed and shook her head. "Of course, the bride is always the most beautiful in any wedding." The guard did not argue anymore. In his eyes, the princess is three times more beautiful than the bride.
Many people lined up on the streets to watch the motorcade. They were holding small Ra-Iyan flags and banners congratulating their king on his marriage to the new queen. The wedding was very high profile. The king of Ra-Iya has spent a lot of money on the wedding. Many dignitaries from other countries attended. In the end, it was a money-making event for the King of Ra-Iya because many media companies paid an exorbitant price to cover the event.
Ra-Iya was not a popular country, but because it was one of the surviving monarchies of the modern era, a lot of people were interested to observe a Royal Wedding and it was not often that a king or a prince, or a royal family member happens.
The Ra-iyan citizens were ecstatic about the wedding as the event would showcase their century-old cathedral and the famous King’s Boulevard with its magnificent and ancient trees. They cheered the bridesmaids, but whenever Amaya’s carriage passed, the cheer was deafening. It was louder than when they cheer for the king’s bride.
Amaya noticed the crowd’s reaction. She did not want to steal the limelight from the bride, so she instructed the coachman to stay closer to the bride’s carriage.
Since the bride’s carriage arrived last, her entourage was waiting for her at the main entrance of the cathedral. The wedding started as soon as the bride set foot on the cathedral’s main entrance.
The King of Ra-Iya was already waiting at the altar. When Amaya was walking along the red carpet strewn with flowers, she admired the elaborate flower arrangement that liven the baroque architecture of the church. She felt a scorching stare coming from the front. Her gaze inadvertently fell on the groom waiting at the altar. Their eyes met and Princess Amaya saw a playful smirk on the king and a glint on his eyes. He was looking at her intently and it made the princess uncomfortable. Amaya felt her cheeks turn hot. She has to admit that the king looked very regal and handsome in his suit. He was wearing Ra-Iya’s military gala uniform.
Amaya’s royal guard was standing at the side observing the princess and the king. He frowned when he noticed that the king’s gaze followed Amaya until she found her seat. It was only then that he retracted his gaze and focused on the bride that was walking slowly down the aisle.
King Duncan nor Crown Prince Ibarra were not able to attend the wedding. It was Prince Sapiro, Zanazara’s father who walked the aisle with her.
King Ralden, looked at the beautiful bride who was beaming with happiness beneath the veil. How perfect would it be if it was Princess Amaya who was wearing the white gown? He stole a glance at the princess who was clapping along with the rest of the bridesmaids as Prince Sapiro handed over Zanzara to him.
Two people noticed that small movement. Zanzara clenched her fist but her face showed that she was over the moon. The royal guard frowned deeper. He was convinced that the King was infatuated with Amaya and it only meant danger for the Princess.
