Chapter 149: I Want To Be Like You

King Ralden gave out a low laugh. "Looking at your faces ladies, I could guess what you are thinking."

Amaya looked at him in surprise. "Really? Can you read minds? Then can you tell me what am I thinking earlier?"

Prince Ibarra threw a warning look at his daughter. She really looked gullible.

"Hmm... You think that I am old."

Amaya’s eyes widened. Can he really read minds?

"And?’’

King Ralden frowned. How would he know what is on her mind? This princess is really something.

"That’s only half of what I thought. What is the other half?" Amaya asked.

Everyone was dumbfounded.

King Ralden laughed heartily.

Princess Nelida gave her a side stare. "Amaya, King Ralden is just joking."

Amaya’s face reddened. She lowered her eyes and started eating her dessert.

The King of Ra-Iya was amused. He hasn’t seen a royalty blush blatantly in a long time. It was a strange sight for him.

"So, princesses where are you taking me after lunch? I will be in your care." He turned sideways to look at the three beauties sitting by his side. If he was in Ra-Iya, he could have all of them serve him at the same time.

Before any of the three can answer, Amaya interjected. "Grandpa, Daddy, I need to practice archery, this afternoon. The sports committee in school automatically entered me in the women’s events of hitting multiple targets in a span of two minutes."

"Are you still playing? Didn’t you lose in fencing?" Zanzara tried to speak normally. She wanted to mock Amaya but she cannot do that as they were in the presence of the two kings and her uncle was also there.

"My opponent was last year’s champion. Besides, I haven’t touched the sword since Daddy Ibrahim died." a tinge of sadness laced her voice.

Ibarra perked when he heard the word fencing. "When did you learn to play the sword, Amaya?"

"Daddy Ibrahim taught me, but it wasn’t enough."

Prince Ibarra pondered for a moment before nodding. Ibrahim was good at fencing. He often beat him whenever they played.

When King Ralden heard the mention of Ibrahim, he shifted his focus to Amaya. He remembered what he saw in the museum yesterday. He has read his journals and that man was worth his praise. He could have been a worthy opponent. He didn’t realize that Ibarra has a twin brother, but it doesn’t matter now as he already died. A dead person cannot do anything.

"Do you know how to play archery?" King Ralden was holding a glass of water when he asked Amaya.

"Yes, I do," was Amaya’s brief reply.

King Ralden thought of something. "Now, I know what to do. How about we all watch Amaya practice?"

Zanzara wanted to protest but Tatiana pulled the sleeve of her dress.

"Aren’t you and my cousins going out to look around Lireya?"

"There is very limited time. Besides I haven’t drawn an arrow for a long time. If you don’t mind I will practice with you."

"I will go to the training ground after changing my clothes. I will be there around 2:00 pm." Amaya excused herself and hurried back to her room to freshen up and change.

Her three cousins took the opportunity to cozy up to Raiden. The king was disgusted by them but he had to maintain a polite and gentle demeanor. That was the image that the king of Ra-Iya built in his kingdom and his people loved him for that.

"We have a guest room prepared for you. You can rest if you want." King Duncan said as he looked disapprovingly at his granddaughters. "By the way, have you decided who will be your wife?"

King Ralden shook his head. "I will let you know in the evening."

"Ibarra will tour you around the palace. I will go back first and check on the queen." The Lireyan king stood up and headed to the door.

Ibarra invited Ralden to the garden in the North wing. "Do you want to have coffee or alcohol?"

King Ralden chuckled. It was still daytime and he did not want to touch alcohol. He would still be dating four of the king’s granddaughters. How can he touch alcohol?

"So, what is your plan for your eldest daughter? Is she already betrothed? She mentioned that she already found her mate."

Ibarra frowned. "Did Amaya say that?"

King Ralden nodded. In his peripheral vision, he caught a movement on the third-floor window. And soon, a face popped out of the window. It was Princess Amaya. Only her upper body was visible.

"Yes, she did." King Ralden confirmed.

"Actually my father has an agreement with the King of Albanya. Amaya is supposed to be betrothed to Prince Raquim but my father did not want to force Amaya because she just came back to us."

"I see." He nodded and became silent. "Maybe the one she is referring to as her mate was Raquim."

Prince Ibarra did not reply but he has already guessed who that person was. It cannot be Raquim but Marx.

"Can I see your training ground?"

"Sure!" Prince Ibarra led the guest to the training ground.

Amaya was already there. She actually came down early. She was wearing a white t-shirt a black pleated skirt and white sneakers. Her servant Lilia was beside her. She slung a quiver on her back and she was holding a bow and arrow.

She looked like a huntress. King Ralden was pleased.

Prince Ibarra was proud that his daughter can shoot arrows.

"She has a good form."

"Of course. She won the championships in their school’s sports fest, yesterday."

"Really?" King Ralden widened his eyes a little to feign surprise. Of course, he already knew what he wanted to know about the First Princess from his intelligence network.

Prince Ibarra was about to reply when Amaya released her first arrow and it hit the bullseye. She quickly took an arrow from the quiver on her back and drew the string then released it flying toward the second target.

More and more people have gathered to watch Amaya’s practice. Prince Donello was one of them.

Amaya moved very fast. She did not pause to relax but continue to release the arrows until she completed all six targets.

Donello approached to check her targets. He exclaimed when he saw that all targets hit the bullseye.

"Sister, can you teach me? I want to be like you."
