Rabbit Must Die-Chapter 623 - 222 Luxury Ah_1
Crossing the small wooden bridge, Qin Shou realized something was amiss. The bridge might look simple, yet the wood used was the ancient Yinchen Wood, whose gloomy aura was even more intense than that of the chair from the Nether River Patriarch Qin Shou had nibbled on!
But, the Nether River Patriarch had only used that type of wood for some furniture, while the doors and windows were made from slightly inferior timber.
Yet here, it was used to construct a bridge extending for thousands of kilometers...
Qin Shou only felt an immense dizziness in his head...
At that moment, Mengpo said, "You recognize the Yinchen Wood and the Earth Mother Stone, can’t you guess what the screen Mountain at the entrance is made of?"
Qin Shou, in a daze, asked, "What material?"
Mengpo replied, "It is forged from Buzhou Mountain. Although it’s just a small piece, it is an entire mountain!"
Upon hearing this, Qin Shou gasped in shock!
Though Buzhou Mountain was once known as the largest mountain in the world, the pillar that propped up the sky. Later, it collapsed due to certain reasons... but the strangeness lies right here.
Buzhou Mountain had collapsed, but after its fall, it remained a large mountain, didn’t it? To take a few stones from it should have been easy, right?
Yet, looking back at history, after the collapse of Buzhou Mountain, there was no more mention of it. It vanished without a trace, as if it disappeared into thin air...
It’s only now that Qin Shou understood where Buzhou Mountain had gone—it had been moved here to serve as a screen!
By this point, Qin Shou had finally realized something: the owner of this place must be immensely rich or noble! And not just any kind of wealthy or noble, but the top tier of both!
For someone of such status who truly wanted to harm him, there was no need to waste so much brainpower or to find someone to impersonate Mengpo—he could just summon a few super bosses to slap him dead, and that would be the end of it.
Therefore, by now, even though he hadn’t verified Mengpo’s identity in detail, Qin Shou was convinced—this must be Mengpo!
So, Qin Shou took a deep breath and said, "Granny, why aren’t you home working on Mengpo’s Soup? What are you doing here? What’s the matter? In need of money? Doing temp work? Working as a nanny? By the way, the owner of this courtyard seems very wealthy. How much do they pay you per month?"
Mengpo, besieged by Qin Shou’s barrage of questions, felt a mix of laughter and tears but didn’t address them directly. Instead, she merely stated, "I know you have many questions in your heart, but I’m unable to answer them for you. Once you meet the young lady, all your questions will naturally be resolved. If you still have any, you may ask her."
Upon hearing this, Qin Shou’s curiosity about the so-called young lady only grew. He wondered who she was to have such wealth and why she would want to see him.
Could it be that the young lady had taken a liking to him?
If this had been before, Qin Shou would never have believed such a thing—who would take a fancy to a rabbit on the level?
But after going through the incident with Feidan, he suddenly felt that the saying ’There’s all sorts of birds in a big forest’ was credible.
"If she is very beautiful and confesses to me, how should I reject her? I’m a rabbit with a mate! This is a problem..." Qin Shou muttered to himself in a whimsical daze.
Following Mengpo onto the small island, they came upon a courtyard. At the entrance, Mengpo didn’t go in but gestured invitingly, "The young lady is inside waiting for you."
Qin Shou nodded and then pushed open the gate of the courtyard to enter, only to be completely stunned as he stepped in!
"This..." Qin Shou’s eyes widened in sheer disbelief!
Behind the courtyard gate was actually a room! A room was one thing, but what shocked him was how familiar the room felt, with its white walls and tiled floor, a light switch near the entrance, which, flicked on, lit up the room...
Indeed, this was styled like a 21st-century Earth room!
Completely modernized...
Right at the entrance was a vestibule; beyond which was a hall that served both as a dining and living room, advertised as two rooms but effectively just one large hall.
The living room was furnished with a sofa, chairs, and even a hundred-inch curved screen TV mounted on the wall! Across the living room was a balcony, with floor-to-ceiling windows through which Qin Shou could even see skyscrapers! He could even spot a building that looked like a pair of giant trousers!
Qin Shou rubbed his temples and looked away, only to see a deep corridor with five doors leading off it. Clearly, this was a modern five-bedroom apartment with one living room.
Next to the dining area, diagonally across from Qin Shou, was the kitchen.
The kitchen was separated by frosted glass doors which were closed, but through them, he could faintly hear the sounds of cooking, even the whirring of a ventilation fan...
The dining room had a white dining table with six chairs, and the table appeared to be the foldable kind that could be extended into a large round table. On the other side of the dining room was another balcony, with the same floor-to-ceiling windows.
Unable to resist, Qin Shou approached the window and looked out onto a modern residential park, complete with artificial hills and waters, trees, slides, and the like. There were elders with their grandchildren playing below...
Qin Shou rubbed his temples again and muttered, "Can this be real?"
Just then, the kitchen door opened, and a gentle voice sounded, "Are you back?"
A soft "Are you back?" was enough to ignite everything that Qin Shou had buried deep inside him. He didn’t understand why but his heart was filled with a sour feeling, and tears flowed uncontrollably. He instinctively opened his mouth, wanting to shout, "Mom..."
However, Qin Shou quickly came to his senses; he’d never met his parents since he was a child, having only Old Master Qin.
Yet Qin Shou found it strange; why did that inquiry evoke such a familiar sense of déjà vu?
Turning his head, Qin Shou saw a woman standing in the kitchen. Gentle as jade, with long black hair braided into a thick plait hanging behind her, clad in a checked shirt and jeans, wearing an apron. Even with the apron in the way, Qin Shou instantly recognized her incredibly long legs and asked subconsciously, "Sister?"
This person was none other than the sister Qin Shou had acknowledged back in the Nether River, the same blood-red Rabbit from his sea of consciousness—Fang Ya.
Fang Ya smiled with pursed lips and came over to tap Qin Shou’s forehead with her finger, saying, "At least you have some conscience, remembering me, your sister. Have you caused trouble again?"
After that, Fang Ya pulled up a chair and hoisted Qin Shou onto it like a commanding yet affectionate sister, looking at him with a touch of gentle reprimand in her eyes that nonetheless divulged endless fondness, and said, "Aren’t you going to tell your sister about it?"
For some reason, Qin Shou felt that upon entering such a room, his first reaction should not have been surprise, let alone warmth, but terror!
