Rabbit Must Die-Chapter 621 - 220 Feidan Has Gone Mad..._1
Upon entering, Qin Shou realized something was amiss – a faint purple poisonous fog drifted through the cave, and in the midst of it bloomed a palm-sized purple flower, vibrant and striking. From its stamen emanated streams of purple poison, it was clear that the fog was its handiwork.
Qin Shou didn’t know what it was called, let alone how poisonous it might be, but after a single breath, he was invigorated as if injected with chicken blood. His entire body’s cells roared; he too bellowed excitedly, pounced forward, ripped off the flower, and stuffed it directly into his mouth. Then, with a deep inhalation, all the poisonous air was sucked into his abdomen...
For the next caves, Qin Shou followed the same method and broke all the enchantments. He stormed in at the first opportunity, sucking up what he could, eating what was edible, swallowing the small things whole, and after a bit of kneading and rolling, the large things went straight into his mouth. Nothing green was left in his wake... 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
At this moment, Lord Feidan had already rushed into the great hall.
Just then, Guiche and the others had arrived, saying from behind, "Lord Feidan, you need not worry. Your Alchemy Room is the most dangerous place in the whole Feidan Hall."
The Golden Toad followed up, "Exactly, it’s full of deadly substances. If outsiders go in and mess around, even if they just smell the wrong medicine, it will be you who has to come to the rescue."
Upon hearing this, Feidan remembered he wasn’t just any alchemist – he was the most powerful poison master in the entire Heavenly Court of the Demon Clan! The caves of his Alchemy Room were sealed with the world’s most bizarre poisons, which regular Xumi Bags could no longer contain. Even when placed inside a Xumi Bag, their toxins would still seep out, threatening the lives of others. That’s why he had to seal them away in the caves.
With this in mind, Feidan’s heart felt significantly lighter, and with a cold laugh, he said, "If that rabbit behaves itself, fine, but if it causes troubles... heh heh, tonight I’ll treat you all to rabbit meat!"
Everyone laughed upon hearing this, their mood lightened, though their pace didn’t slow – the items in the Alchemy Room were far too important for them to allow any relaxation to decelerate them.
In the midst of conversation, the group arrived at the entrance to the Alchemy Room. Feidan reached out to push the stone door and in the next moment...
Clang!
Everything that was in their hands fell to the floor, their mouths agape in astonishment, eyes bulging almost to the point of falling out.
The vast Alchemy Room, where the pill-making had taken place, was left with only several pitiful iron chains.
The Alchemy Furnace that was originally hanging from those chains had disappeared.
"My Pill Furnace, my pills!" Feidan immediately freaked out, hands clutching his head as he darted around in place.
As a result of this movement, he looked up and saw that every enchantment outside the large cave had vanished! The insides were completely empty! And turning his head, he saw another cave was the same!
Looking at one empty cave after another, Feidan’s gaze became increasingly hollow. As he walked on, every sight struck his heart like a knife, blood gushing out... such heartache...
"My heavens... Did that rabbit come here to loot everything?" the Mountain Spider exclaimed with its mouth wide open in astonishment.
The Golden Toad said, "We have said before that this rabbit was a bit odd. It could bite through Guiche’s chariot in one bite, yet it showed strength that didn’t even reach that of a Human Immortal. Is that possible? As expected, disguising itself as a pig to eat the tiger – this fellow planned to ride our coattails to come here and cause havoc for us!"
Had it been earlier, Guiche would not have believed this theory, but now, given the current situation, he had no choice but to accept it. With a bitter tone, he said, "What do we do now? No matter what, we brought that rabbit here. With such a grave incident having occurred, we probably can’t escape blame."
The Golden Toad said, "The pills in that Pill Furnace are tied to the hopes of the Demon Clan... We cannot allow even the slightest error. Now, since it’s happened, our only option is to quickly find that rabbit and the Pill Furnace!"
The Mountain Spider nodded, about to speak, when suddenly it said, "My children have found the rabbit’s trail!"
As it turned out, upon realizing something was wrong, the Mountain Spider had immediately sent out a swarm of little spiders to scour the Alchemy Room, hoping to find some clues. Indeed, they had a fruitful find!
The two followed the Mountain Spider all the way to a corner, where everyone saw a small hole. It was pitch black inside, evidently a deep tunnel.
"Are you sure he escaped through such a small hole?" the Golden Toad poked the tiny opening with his finger, which fit just as thick as one of his fingers.
The Mountain Spider said, "None of us are ordinary people, shrinking isn’t much of a Magic trick."
The Golden Toad said, "It’s precisely because we’re not ordinary people that I’m suspicious. Couldn’t he even accomplish the most basic Earth Escape of the five elements magic? And still he digs a hole... Well, digging is indeed a rabbit’s niche. But that being said, he would have to shrink down quite a bit to fit. The effort before and after seems about the same, why would he insist on shrinking down?"
Rolling her eyes, the Mountain Spider replied, "How should I know? I only found his scent, I didn’t witness the past."
Meanwhile, a little spider emerged from the hole, carrying a white hair in its mouth.
The Mountain Spider said, "See for yourselves, this should belong to that rabbit, right?"
After inspecting it, Guiche nodded and said, "Indeed it is!"
"Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go after him!" said the Golden Toad, and after shrinking down, he strode boldly into the tunnel.
The Mountain Spider asked Guiche, "Shouldn’t we call for Lord Feidan?"
Guiche glanced at Feidan, who was still on the ground, scratching his ears frantically and flailing tears and snot, and said, "Forget it, let’s go after him ourselves."
The Mountain Spider looked at Feidan, sighed, and said, "Let’s go..."
With that, the two also entered the tunnel.
The trio sprinted through the tunnel, but after a while, the Golden Toad leading suddenly stopped.
The Mountain Spider and Guiche, who were right behind, nearly crashed into his back. The Mountain Spider didn’t dare lash out at the Golden Toad, but Guiche didn’t care and scolded, "Why the hell did you suddenly stop?"
"Something’s not right!" exclaimed the Golden Toad.
Guiche asked, "What’s not right?"
The Golden Toad responded, "Don’t you think there’s something off about this tunnel?"
Confused, Guiche and the Mountain Spider asked, "What’s wrong with it?"
The Golden Toad explained, "The direction. We’ve been running this whole way; we’re already out of Feidan City. If he wanted to leave, wouldn’t he dig a much shorter route? Plus, this direction seems to be heading toward the imperial city."
Upon hearing this, Guiche exclaimed, "That rabbit went to the imperial city?"
The Golden Toad replied, "I’m not sure, but if he really left this way, then it’s almost certain. Are we still going after him?"
The Mountain Spider argued, "We’ve already chased this far, why would we give up halfway? What about the imperial city? We’re capturing the rabbit for the State Preceptor, it’s not like we’re doing anything else."
