Quills: the Rise of the Northern Matriarch-Chapter 59: Fear 2
Chapter 59 - Fear 2
Cerez calmly walked down the hall to the main entrance. He quietly opened the door and stepped out. He approached the garden bed looking for the movement he saw from inside. He started noticing the tips of the grass swaying differently than the others in the wind as he guessed the observer was moving to avoid detection. He followed the movement into the garden, stalking the unwelcome guest. Cerez found the man's encampment in a bed of ornamental blushes and quickly restrained him from behind. The man reeked and was emaciated. It was clear he had not been eating well and had been watching them for some time. He kicked himself for not spotting the man sooner.
"Before the Matriarch of this building finds out what you have been doing you need to talk quickly, quietly and honestly. You would have acted a long time ago if you intended to hurt her, when we were sleeping?" Cerez said as he questioned the man. He loosened his choke hold and then the man gasped for air and coughed lightly. He looked at the starving, pathetic Bitas man in front of him with pity and seriousness. It was obvious that he was dealing with a mental health condition. He hoped that he could keep this quiet and prevent a needless death.
"Answer me, it is very important that you tell me honestly, because I will know, and I will not forgive any lies." Cerez said impatiently, becoming stressed that he might have to hurt the man to get him to answer.
"I was on her transport coming down from Izaberne. I just wanted to make sure she was healthy. I care for her a lot. I come here to check on her when I am on leave. I do not want to hurt her or anyone." the man explained pathetically.
"She was so skinny, and she almost lost her life a couple of times. When I read that she had no family, I was worried about her. I just got stuck when I came here." he said, erupting in tears. The man broke down in front of him mentally. Seeing he admitted that it was coming from a place of care, he looked at the man with a lot of empathy.
"You have seen that she is healthy. She is being taken care of by the most wealthy clan and has three bound spouses to care for her. She is safe now. This obsessional behavior is unhealthy. If you leave now, I will order the enforcement team to give you counseling, and we will send you to a nice and peaceful facility to work. I promise you will have good conditions, and you will not need to worry anymore. Because you will work for us." Cerez said, feeling terrible for the man. "Give me your name and identification code. If you return, uninvited, we will be less merciful," Cerez said.
"My name is Jahn and my identification number is 8234897209876" said Jahn. He was a Bitas and the man standing in front of him had the ability to set his career back.
Surprisingly, he had just helped him and given him employment. He was away from duty and was sure to lose his other employment. Jahn cast the Alphem standing in front of him with a grateful but confused look. Cerez understood that not every male would accept a male partnership, and they should never be forced to, but this was an unhealthy violation of privacy. "You understand what you have done is not only dangerous, but very violating." Cerez said. He was not attracted to males himself. But he would never step over the line to stalk and watch a woman in her home. No matter how much he cared for her. When he saw Nora she had ignited a thirst that he never knew he had. He was able to quench his thirst. This man would never be able to. Cerez stuck to his guns and was compassionate.
"Yes, thank you for your mercy. I could not help it, the anxiety was killing me." Jahn said. He could smell himself. He had no idea when it had come over him. As soon as he got close to her, the better he felt. He would never step out of line to hurt her. He started to weep.
"Do not let me regret it, be better for yourself, channel that energy of wanting to protect her into bettering the world. You will be alright." Cerez reluctantly patted Jahn on his back. The man shook as he wept. He had obviously not eaten for days. "Let us go meet the Peacekeepers, they will bring you to get some food and help you clean up, and, as promised, to be counseled about this behavior. Cooperate and I will not restrain you." Cerez said. Cerez offered him his hand to help him off the ground. He did not want Allurai to see or hear the commotion. It could also wake Nora.
"I am very grateful. I will reflect and not forget your kindness," Jahn said.
"It is Quill's kindness. Do not forget that." Cerez said. If this man were to spread his story of mercy with Clan Quill's name on it, it would also be great for their reputation. Opportunities to like this and to be merciful rarely coalesced. Fortunately, it happened on a day when the Allari were not paying attention. Cerez was unsure how to approach this.
'If Liem went to his mother, then this man would most likely be dead before Liem finished explaining why resolving the situation peacefully was beneficial. The building is not finished yet, so we cannot move in yet. This would be something that we should talk to Nora about, but how?' Cerez thought as he waited for the area to clear out. He then took some deep mindful breaths, settling his complex feelings in his heart before returning to his family. Liem was working on cooking their meal as Cerez came into the house. Kadir's nose wrinkled, smelling the smell of intense body odor wafting off of him.

"You better not go through the bedroom smelling like that. She will wake up and vomit." Kadir warned Cerez. "How many?" Kadir said.
"Only one. A Bitas from the transport down here. He's being sent for counseling and on to the healing farm." Cerez huffed a frustrated sigh. "If that is how a brief encounter with her resulted, I cannot imagine what is lurking outside." Cerez said with frustration.
"Quiet down, if she hears you she might blame herself." Liem silently hissed. "We are going to have different operational rules than Clan Allari. How is the building coming along?" Liem asked.
"So far away," Kadir said as he frowned. Both Cerez and Kadir already knew it was not finished. The Sedai family had offered a generous dowry and support payment plan upon Kadir's entrance into Clan Quill. Amrita had been worried prior to the ceremony due to her sons 'condition' and included more compensation. They were given property close in proximity to the Allari and Sedai and had started work on their home and official building.
"We are looking at one hundred and eighty-two days. Maybe more for the main building to be completed with the intrusion resistant housing we added on. The shifting paths to the main residence and courtyards are almost complete," Kadir answered, and sighed.
"Go shower and change, you smell awful." Kadir complained. Cerez shed his clothes in the kitchen, tossing the awful-smelling clothes in the incinerator and walked off to shower naked as the day he was born. He used to feel awkward being nude around men, but he was now comfortable. He walked into the room, startling Nora awake. Nora laughed seeing him barge in naked. Cerez straightened up his back.
"What are you laughing about?" Cerez asked.
"It is just, what a way to wake up. I do not get to see you like this often," Nora said with a chuckle. "
Do you want to take a bath?" Cerez asked. Nora nodded with a huge smile on her face. "I thought you might be sore. I stink." Cerez said, smiling at Nora. He held a hand out to pull her up.
Cerez was able to easily pick her up, but she did not like that. She liked independence, but it was painful for him to watch. She was very pregnant. Not that far behind Allurai, who was giving birth a few floors above them. She must be so sore, her stomach had grown round and her breasts had gotten larger and heavier. He had felt their weight himself. Her shoulders must hurt. He wished she would rely on them more, especially now.
It would be nice to treat her to a massage after what happened outside. Their woman was so desirable that she drove men crazy. Even if she did not smell so good, she was beautiful. He felt that if they did not watch, someone would try to take her away and hide her. Cerez walked into the bathroom and started to fill the massive tub. He added some moisturizing milk and flower petals to the tub. He added some mood lighting. He was going to take the initiative to build more intimacy with her. It should not all be about trying to have children and pleasure. Nora slinked into the bathroom.
