Quick Transmigration: The Mad Beauty Refuses to Be the Scapegoat!-Chapter 248 - 29: Berserk Junior Sister Refuses to Be Cannon Fodder (Part 29)
The viper nimbly dodged, while the Fire Spirit Scorpion, after several failed attempts to land an attack, shot flames from its tail towards Jiang Lai’s direction.
Jiang Lai quickly pulled the fourth junior brother aside to dodge, then shouted at Pudding.
"Pudding, bite it!"
Seeing the scorpion tail swelling up again, extending to sting, this time targeting Pudding—despite being such a tiny creature, Mu Wu did not like it. Jiang Lai was able to move so effortlessly in the Secret Realm because this little dog led the way.
But what use was a good nose if it had no power to fight back or protect itself? She might as well eliminate it quickly.
Mu Wu smirked, but upon seeing Jiang Lai’s calm face, she unexpectedly felt a flutter of panic in her heart. The next second, she saw the little black dog rush head-on and bite the tail of the Fire Spirit Scorpion.
"Overestimating itself..."
"Crack!!"
It sounded like a stone breaking, and the once-menacing Fire Spirit Scorpion let out a piercing wail, as if its lifeline had been cut, its ear-splitting screeches accompanied by cold, green blood splattering everywhere. Jiang Lai kicked the fourth junior brother away, dodging to the side.
The fourth junior brother, who rolled several times from the kick, was about to curse, when a drop of green liquid splattered onto his sleeve. The sleeve instantly began to dissolve like sugar frosting meeting water, disintegrating piece by piece.
Everything that the Fire Spirit Scorpion’s blood splattered on was corroded into a pitted mess.
The fourth junior brother stared incredulously at the Fire Spirit Scorpion, its tail sting bitten off, and exclaimed.
"This creature is this venomous? Is Mu Wu raising poisonous pests?!"
He hastily shed his outer robe and kept flapping his arm, looking as disgusted as if he had stepped in dung.
Mu Wu rushed forward to check on the Fire Spirit Scorpion’s injury. A closer look confirmed the entire scorpion tail had been bitten off from the root, entirely incapable of growing back.
She looked up at the nearby little dog chewing on the scorpion tail, so furious she nearly ground her teeth to bits!
What on earth is this creature, with such strong teeth that it can completely ignore the scorpion’s venom!
She looked at Jiang Lai with hatred, heartbroken at the sight of her most beloved scorpion losing its most critical feature, her eyes reddened.
"Jiang Lai!!"
The fourth junior brother felt a slight tremor in his heart, this woman looked so terrifying, so fierce.
Jiang Lai, however, remained smiling, clearly unfazed by Mu Wu’s hatred.
She even wanted to add fuel to the fire, patting the snake’s head with a villainous look at Mu Wu.
"Mu Wu, your scorpion just lost a tail, that’s all. If you know what’s good for you, steer clear of anyone from the Tiangang Sect in the future, or else I’ll beat you up every time I see you!"
Since she was already involved, Jiang Lai had no qualms about dancing around in Mu Wu’s danger zone.
The fourth junior brother shrank back.
"Look, that man seems strange. After all that’s happened, he’s been standing still all along, like he’s fake. Is he also a puppet?"
Jiang Lai chuckled.
"Do you remember what you’re here for on this trip?"
"For... no way, I did hear that thing could not only grow legs and run but also transform into forms it has seen, but so realistic... Wow, this is eye-opening."
"What are you standing there for? Go snatch it."
The fourth junior brother was a bit intimidated by Mu Wu, probably because of his cannon fodder nature, making him instinctively afraid and wanting to flee at the sight of her.
Jiang Lai kicked him.
"Be bold, I’m here."
"Alright, as long as you keep me safe if I’m in danger, junior sister."
So, when Mu Wu was steeped in the grief over her injured pet, the fourth junior brother sneaked around from behind, first testing it with a poke, confirming indeed it was the Wood Spirit Ginseng he sought, and without hesitation, hoisted it onto his shoulder and ran.
He couldn’t help but let out a series of triumphant and wild laughs while running.
Mu Wu turned around, her Wood Spirit Ginseng was gone!!
By now, the fourth junior brother had returned to Jiang Lai with the human-shaped Wood Spirit Ginseng, so excited that his voice was trembling.
"I never thought I’d get the Wood Spirit Ginseng so easily, look it’s just like a human!"
He had completely forgotten that he had just snatched it right under Mu Wu’s nose. Indeed, his natural greed made him fearless.
"But how do we eat this thing?"
The Wood Spirit Ginseng needed to be eaten to take effect. But it was entirely in the form of a man. If it were a beautiful woman, that’d be different, but this was just unpalatable.
"Chop it up and gnaw on it, like eating chicken or pork."
After these words, a trace of panic and fear appeared on the once-dazed man’s face.
Jiang Lai then added.
"Anyway, my dog has good teeth, so let it take the first bite, then you’ll feel no psychological pressure eating it."
Saying this, Jiang Lai beckoned to Pudding, who immediately left the half-eaten scorpion tail and trotted over happily.
"Pudding, go, and bite off a finger to taste."
Pudding bared its teeth and looked ready to pounce. Seeing this, the once-dazed man turned and fled, moving so quickly that the fourth junior brother beside him hadn’t even reacted.
Luckily, Jiang Lai was faster, grabbing a handful of his hair, and with a forceful throw, the tall man transformed into a twisting root-like ginseng. Jiang Lai held tight to the tuft of hair on the ginseng’s head, it was utterly immobile despite its struggles.
"Move again, and I’ll eat you in one bite!"
The struggling Wood Spirit Ginseng immediately settled down, with its dim gray body sprouting two tiny bean-sized eyes that were easy to miss.
Now, those eyes were full of fear, its body trembling uncontrollably in Jiang Lai’s grasp.
"Here, your baby."
The fourth junior brother was incredulous.
"Just like that, it’s mine?"
"Don’t want it? If not, I’ll eat it."
"No, no, no, eating it directly would be a waste, I’ll handle it, I’ll handle it."
The fourth junior brother clung to the Wood Spirit Ginseng, fearing it might escape, then glanced back at Mu Wu.
"What about her? She seems about to explode."
Mu Wu indeed seemed about to explode; her acquired Wood Spirit Ginseng was stolen, yet now she dared not make any moves, realizing Jiang Lai’s true strength likely wasn’t as it seemed, and since Ye Yunzhou couldn’t handle her, reason dictated for Mu Wu to endure.
"Tell me, where is Ye Yunzhou?"
Jiang Lai pointed behind her.
"Outside, poisoned, let me see, probably just died recently."
Mu Wu gritted her teeth, shot Jiang Lai a fierce glare, and eventually chose to leave.
The fourth junior brother heaved a sigh of relief.
"If Ye Yunzhou is dead, then the Eight Desolates Sect would be in utter chaos."
"Instead of worrying about others, you should worry about yourself and eat up quickly."
