Queen Mommy's Six Genius Babies Found the CEO Daddy-Chapter 90: He’s Back!
The smell of hospital disinfectant filled the air, invading Sophia’s nostrils as she slowly woke up.
As she opened her eyes, she heard a gentle male voice from beside her, "You’re awake? Feeling any better?"
She turned her head and saw a kind, unfamiliar man.
His features were sharp, and his eyes were a striking shade of amber. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
"Who are you?"
"I’m Damien Brown. You fainted in front of the LT Film Company, and I brought you to the hospital."
Sophia vaguely remembered seeing a figure just before she passed out, and it must have been this man.
"Thank you. I’m Sophia Morgan."
Damien gave a small smile and poured her a glass of water.
"I’ve already contacted Howard from LT Films. He’s on his way. You had a high fever, and you’re only halfway through the IV drip."
Just as he finished speaking, the sound of children’s voices came from the hallway.
"Mommy!"
"Mommy!"
Damien turned his head slightly, clearly surprised that this young woman already had children.
"Is that... your kids?"
Sophia nodded slightly, and Damien’s eyes widened as he stared at the six children who had just entered the room.
"Mommy!"
The six kids swarmed around the bed, pushing Damien aside.
Faye gently cupped Sophia’s pale face in her hands. "Mommy, why are you sick?"
"I’m fine, don’t worry. How did you guys get here?"
"A strange uncle said he was bringing us to find you. He didn’t seem like a bad guy, so we came with him."
At that moment, Howard walked in.
"Sophia, are you okay? I told you not to push yourself, but you wouldn’t listen to me."
"I’m fine, but I need to thank Mr. Brown for bringing me to the hospital."
"Mr. Brown?"
Sophia was about to nod, but she suddenly realized that the man had disappeared without her noticing.
"He was just here. He said he contacted you. Don’t you know him?"
Howard thought for a moment, but couldn’t recall anyone by that name.
"I don’t know anyone named Brown."
How strange.
"Well, if we ever have the chance, we’ll meet him again."
Howard handed her a glass of water.
"Mommy, let me feed you."
After she sat up, Charles helped her sip a few mouthfuls of water.
"I’m fine now. My fever’s gone. Uncle Hanson, please handle the discharge paperwork."
"No, you had a high fever. It’s definitely from overworking. You need to stay in the hospital a bit longer."
Sophia sighed.
Uncle Hanson was back again.
"I’m really fine, and please, don’t bring the kids here again."
She’d always been their superhero—superheroes don’t get sick.
"Mommy, don’t be stubborn. If Daddy comes back, he’ll bully you."
"Bully?"
Howard’s expression darkened. "Lucas bullies you?"
"Yeah, sometimes Daddy takes Mommy to the room, and then Mommy makes... um..."
Sophia quickly covered her little daughter’s mouth, stopping her from saying more.
Faye blinked innocently and protested with muffled sounds.
"Uncle Hanson, don’t listen to them. They don’t know what they’re talking about!"
Howard, experienced as he was, certainly understood.
He let out a breath, but there was still something he felt needed to be said.
"Sophia, you and Lucas..."
"Uncle Hanson, I know my limits, so don’t worry."
Howard had no right to interfere with her personal matters, but his concern was real.
In the end, he couldn’t talk her out of it, so he completed the discharge paperwork.
Sophia, still feeling dizzy, didn’t notice her phone lighting up.
Billy grabbed the phone and saw that the message was from Lucas.
[I’m back in the country.]
Billy shared the message with the others, and they all agreed—delete it!
Mommy wasn’t listening, so it was time for Daddy to take care of her.
Lucas had only been gone for four days, but the issues with the overseas branch had already been fully resolved.
He had bought a last-minute plane ticket and was holding a bouquet of roses in his hand.
"Young Master, you’re back," Mrs. Wilson said, surprised but also happy as she opened the door.
He handed his clothes to Mrs. Wilson. "Where’s Sophia?"
"She’s sick and still resting upstairs."
"Sick?"
Lucas frowned. "How long has she been like this?"
"She fainted outside and was taken to the hospital. She insisted on coming back, but she’s still dizzy now."
A sense of worry crept into his chest. "Prepare some light, nutritious food. I’ll go check on her. If everything’s fine, don’t bother us."
"Master, the six little ones are upstairs in her room taking care of her."
"At least they have some conscience."
Lucas changed his shoes and went straight upstairs.
He opened the door, and the six kids all looked over at him.
"Daddy, shh!"
Faye raised her finger to her lips, signaling for him to be quiet so they wouldn’t wake Sophia.
Lucas walked over and ruffled their heads. "You guys can go now. Go downstairs and play, or go to your rooms. You can also help Nanny Wilson with something downstairs. I’ll stay here with her."
To his surprise, the kids didn’t argue at all. They tiptoed quietly out of the room.
Lucas set the bouquet of roses down and looked at Sophia lying in bed.
He’d only been gone for a few days, and she’d gotten herself into such a mess?
Sophia, when she was asleep, seemed to have some kind of magic about her.
She slept so peacefully, as if only when she was asleep did she become truly calm.
He placed his hand on her forehead. The fever was gone now.
Sophia let out a soft moan and slowly opened her eyes.
How did she end up seeing Lucas?
It must be a mistake; she was still half-dreaming.
She blinked and closed her eyes again, turning to face the other side, pulling the blanket over her head.
Lucas couldn’t help but smile slightly. "Are you avoiding me, or are you just still half asleep?"
Sophia felt his weight on top of her as he pressed down gently.
"Mm..."
He moved the blanket off her head a little, their eyes meeting.
"Lucas?"
"What’s wrong? I’m back now, and you’re lying here like a sick kitten, not moving?"
A wave of helplessness spread through Sophia.
She didn’t know why, but when she was sick, she felt like a helpless little kitten, always wanting to lean into someone else’s arms for comfort.
She closed her eyes, rubbing against his hand in a soft, almost inaudible voice. "Why are you back? Didn’t you still have some time left?"
"I sent you a message, but you didn’t respond."
"A message?"
Sophia reached for her phone, but there was nothing in the inbox.
Her mind felt like a tangled ball of yarn. With her eyes still closed, she mumbled in frustration, "It disappeared."
"Huh?"
"The message you sent is gone."
Lucas couldn’t help but laugh. The sight of her sick was unexpectedly cute.
"Why didn’t you stay at the hospital?"
"It smelled bad."
Sophia absentmindedly traced his fingers with her own, her touch light and delicate.
