QT: Against My Will-Chapter 628 - 12.08 - Voodoo Doll - Interstellar Voyage
Lily promised not to go alone again, which meant she could go as long as she took someone else with her, right?!
Except for Victor, everyone else refused to help her, so she waited patiently until his shift ended, and approached him nervously, "I need your help."
Victor raised an eyebrow. "Help with what, Lily?"
"Lily wants to save Nathaniel."
Victor’s eyebrow arched even higher, thinking how she inherited the bluntness from both her parents, "Rescue someone from Shina’s clutches? Didn’t your mom teach you how extremely dangerous it is?"
"Mama warned Lily about the danger, but..." Lily paused, "but she also said we do brave things for people we love. Mama was brave and took a risk to give life to Lily. Nathaniel is Lily’s prince, and Lily is his princess. So, Lily has to save him now! Then, we’ll get married and ride giant dragons together!"
"What did you say?" The shock on Victor’s face was palpable as he picked her up, "Marry Nathaniel? He’s such...a weakling. Why would you think of marrying someone like him?"
Lily remembered her mother’s wise words and replied confidently, "Mama always says, ’True strength isn’t about how you wield a sword, but how you wield your heart.’ Nathaniel is kind and fun, and he cares for Lily more than himself. Isn’t that true strength?"
Victor paused to consider his daughter’s wise words, {Nora, there should no longer be any problems with getting rid of the male lead, right?}
{If you cross out Shina, there should be none,} answered Nora, {Why would you want to get rid of him though?}
{My daughter wants to marry a male lead, isn’t that enough of a reason?}
Before Victor could further his plan against Nathaniel, the spaceship’s speakers came to life with an urgent, robotic announcement: "Alert! System breach detected. Initiating lockdown protocols."
Soldiers around them were already in motion, some heading towards emergency stations, others coordinating efforts to secure the ship.
"Attention, we have a potential breach in sector 7-G. Security teams respond immediately. All other personnel, return to your posts and stay alert."
Nora navigated through screens of data.
The spaceship’s barrier got damaged from the impact with the Ether’s barrier and if it weren’t for Victor’s fast reaction, it would have been the end of everyone right there.
They were currently looking for an inhabitable planet, but it would take a while until they understood the mechanics behind the spaceship.
The crew was ill-equipped to fight hostile alien forces, and it became essential to keep a low profile and remain undetected, yet someone had decided to send their coordinates into the depths of space!

Everyone’s anxiety shot through the roof when they received a response from an unknown sender.
To their dismay, the message they received was far from friendly. It was delivered in an unknown language, but their programs were able to translate it and what they found out was filled with explicit hostility:
╔═══════════╗
Foreigners, you trespass on our territory uninvited. Your presence is an invasion and will not be tolerated. Leave immediately or face severe consequences.

’What are the odds of us surviving this predicament?’ Nathaniel couldn’t help but place a bet on his own fate, ’Will a miracle finally wake her out of her focus? Will she cheer on as we all burn? Or will she save us like a little saint?’
Nobody would have thought that the ship-wide catastrophe that could currently harm everyone on board was his doing.
’That guy better exhaust himself to death,’ Nathaniel couldn’t allow Victor to regain his full strength while he was stuck in this pitiful condition, could he?
Dai An closed the book she had been engrossed in and swept all her scattered research materials into her space. As the alerts chimed in the background, she cast a brief glance towards Nathaniel.
The man who was tucked away in his corner, continued to embody aloofness and mystery.
Dai An placed down a voodoo doll she had crafted with Stinky Bun when it was her turn to watch after him. Made from a patchwork of colorful fabrics, with button eyes and a stitched smile.
With a life-like agility, the doll scuttled across the floor, its stitched limbs flailing comically. As it neared Nathaniel, the doll, in a surprisingly clear and child-like voice, called out, "Daddy, daddy!"
"..." Nathaniel’s expression shifted from shock to sheer terror as he realized it was Stinky Bun that had somehow found his way into the tiny voodoo doll.
|"DAI AN!"| The intensity of Lu Kai’s outcry filled her ears, |"What do you plan to do with our son?!"|
Giggling internally, Dai An scooped their baby boy, and flew out of her room. As she accelerated through the spaceship, Stinky Bun’s tiny fabric arms waved in the air, mimicking the motion of flying, "Mommy, mommy?"
"Not yet," Dai An answered. Shina’s team began to materialize behind her, each member ready for action.
This spaceship wasn’t equipped to travel through other dimensions and realms, but it was fully capable of navigating within its own universe. Was...as in the past. Its current state was too damaged for that type of travel.
Shina led her team towards the hangar bay, where a small, agile spacecraft was docked, designed for stealth and short distances.
Her team wasted no time and leaped aboard and equipped themselves with the protective scaffanders with helmets.
Once inside the spacecraft, Juliet and Aria quickly familiarized themselves with the controls.
’I can’t do this!’ Aria cried internally, the memory of her piloting this spacecraft for the first time loomed over her like a shadow. Every button and lever seemed to mock her lack of experience, each screen a reminder of her rushed training.
Their lady told them to be ready to leave at a moment’s notice, but the reality of their situation hit everyone hard.
’~For how long is he going to keep you locked up?’
’I don’t know. Why? Should I ask hubby to release me?’
’~No, it’s nothing. I was just asking,’ Dai An understood the temptation to rely on Bing Shi’s unique abilities, especially in such high-stress, high-risk situations. But she was not allowing her team to rely on these abilities, especially not when she was around to lead them.
The ship’s engines roared to life and zipped through the cosmos at a breathtaking speed, leaving a trail of stardust in its wake.
