QT: Against My Will-Chapter 571 - 8.88 - A Handfull- Monster Heist
Bing Shi hadn’t anticipated losing Leon and had been bullying Nathaniel to her heart’s content.
So if Nathaniel decided not to help Shina ever, she wouldn’t be surprised. Nevertheless, it wouldn’t hurt her pride to at least try and ask.
At the end of her day, she never won against her husband by playing fair, and he didn’t either, so yeah...

Nathaniel’s grandfather paid an unexpected visit to the military barracks where Nathaniel was stationed.
His arrival was marked by an air of stern authority, and his posture was rigid as he entered Nathaniel’s dorm.
Nathaniel had just received the message from Shina, even though he had already blocked her. He watched the video with a mixture of irritation and disbelief, ’It hasn’t even been a day since your departure.’
Ru Quan, meanwhile, observed the unfolding situation by his wife’s side and couldn’t help but chuckle softly, ’This is her second cry for help in a day. Are you just going to stand by and do nothing?’
Nathaniel wanted to take over Leon’s position in the south, but the disapproval of his family rang loudly in the background.
His grandfather slammed his hand onto Nathaniel’s desk, the resounding thud echoing through the room. "Nathaniel!" he bellowed, demanding his immediate attention.
"Yes, grandfather?" Nathaniel finally looked up from his phone. What had he done that his family began to treat him as if he was an idiot?
His grandfather’s expression remained unyielding as he spoke, "It has come to my attention that you’ve been pursuing Shina Night...in a rather inconvenient way. And would you believe it, Shina Night herself approached me, of all people, and implored me to put your... hormones under a lock as it seems like your celibacy is getting out of control!"
"And you believed her lies?" Nathaniel kept his composure, acutely aware of the scrutiny he was under, "Grandfather, I assure you, my involvement with her is only to maintain order and reputation within our ranks. I have no special interest in this woman."
Nathaniel’s heart pounded in his chest as his grandfather abruptly threw a bunch of proof onto the desk, ’She...really...’ There were various ambitious letters, photos of him kissing her mask...
Bing Shi took full advantage of the privilege of being Lu Kai’s wife and kept breaking her character around Nathaniel, so he also revealed a bit of Lu Kai to comfort her bad acting.
With a grave expression, Nathaniel’s grandfather fixed on him with a stern gaze and demanded, "Swear on your life, Nathaniel, that the man in these pictures isn’t you."
"She is trying to mislead you." Nathaniel swallowed hard, his throat dry as he faced the impossible task of denying the evidence laid before him, "Will killing her be enough to show you that there is nothing between us?"
"You couldn’t even deal with Silvia! What makes you think you will be able to kill a fellow LAD, a member of the revered 7th Special Operation Forces?!" his grandfather bellowed, his words like thunderclaps that shook the room, "Fool! I thought you were a genius, but you are such an idiot!"
From the ordeals, they saw that Silvia was competent in every aspect except in her personal life, which became an utter mess after Nathaniel broke the engagement and her family went bankrupt.
Nathaniel, realizing the gravity of the situation, tried to explain, "I’ve been wrongly accused, and that alone deserves death," he grabbed his equipment as if ready to confront Shina right here and there.
But his grandfather wasn’t listening, his face crimson with fury. "Wrongly accused or not, there are limits to what one should even contemplate. This obsession with Shina Night has to stop!"
"You are wrong, grandfather. She is the one who is obsessed with me."
But his grandfather remained adamant, his anger unwavering, "I don’t care what she’s doing. It’s your actions that concern me. You’ve lost sight of your duty and your honor."
The accusations flew back and forth like verbal daggers, each word cutting deeper into the strained relationship between them.
"I’ve let you down," Nathaniel admitted, his words carrying the weight of his actions. "And I’m sorry for letting you down again."
Receiving a phone call, he answered the phone, "You are such a handful."
"Late to the rescue again, Nathaniel. You really do suck at this, don’t you?" Shina replied.
"Well, it’s almost like you are getting into trouble on purpose to see if I’ll come running." With those words, he turned and left the room, his path leading him to none other than Shina Night.
"Oh, my dear murderer, you wound me with your accusations. I would never dream of getting into trouble just to see you embarrass yourself."
Bing Shi lifted Kuro to show Nathaniel the little heart below her monkey eyes. She ordered her system to hack Nathaniel’s phone, so she could bother him with another phone call, |"Look at the new beauty mark Victor had given me. Isn’t it pretty?"|
|"Are you hurt?"|
Bing Shi shook her head, thinking how to make it more difficult for her husband to stay in Nathaniel’s character, |"Just a bit lonely."|
Lu Kai pressed the bridge of his nose as if trying to ward off an impending headache, |"I’m on my way."|
Maybe if Nathaniel put more effort into nurturing his relationship with Silvia and trying to guide her toward positive changes, things might have unfolded differently.
But Lu Kai was so adamant about spending time with his wife only that he completely failed his role as the male lead.
Despite carrying a significant name and accomplishing remarkable deeds in every world he visited, he couldn’t become a God like Bing Shi. The reason was always clear – Lu Kai had been simply detached from everyone and everything.

Shina’s team stood amidst the wreckage of the battle between Shina and Victor. Broken walls, shattered windows, and debris strewn across the roads painted a grim picture of the chaos that had unfolded.
Shina took upon herself to pay for the repairs, and was currently in the interrogation room — her chances of being demoted this time were high.
Sergeant Rills fixed a stern gaze on both Shina and Victor.
"Your actions have caused significant damage to military property and disrupted the order of operations," he stated firmly, locking his gaze on Shina, "This is not the first time you have been involved in such incidents."
As Shina, Victor, and Sergeant Rills remained in the interrogation room, a sudden commotion could be heard from outside. The sound of approaching footsteps and hushed conversations grew louder, drawing their attention.
The door to the room swung open, and a group of individuals dressed in formal uniforms entered. They carried an air of authority and responsibility as they walked in.
A middle-aged man with a serious demeanor stepped forward and addressed Shina directly. "Shina Night, on behalf of the Egerton clan, we extend our deepest apologies for the recent incident and the damage it has caused."
He then stood before Sergeant Rills and stated sincerely, "We are taking full responsibility for the consequences of this situation."
Sergeant Rills, taken aback by this unexpected visit, nodded in acknowledgment. "Thank you for your cooperation."
The Egerton family, true to their word, offered their assistance with the repairs and committed to covering the costs associated with the damage.
They then turned their attention to Victor, seemingly having their own plans for him.
As they led Victor away, Bing Shi was left to contemplate the unexpected turn of events. To express her thanks, she decided to send a formal letter of appreciation to the Egerton clan.

On a somber afternoon, representatives from both the Hauxley and Egerton clans arrived before Elera’s house.
There was another group beside them, their expressions were serious, and their demeanor carried an air of urgency.
Bertha stood in between the groups and Elera in protection, her expression cold and unwelcoming.
"Mama, who are they?" a little girl asked, her eyes filled with wonder.
Elera carried her daughter in her arms protectively. How was she going to explain that two groups came from this little girl’s father’s side, and the other from the little girl’s godfather’s side?
"We’re here on behalf of your father," one of Victor’s underlings started first, his tone gentle, "We work for him, and he’s asked us to make sure you and your mother are safe."
"We’re here because of the recent tragedies that met certain towns and cities near the barriers," the representatives from the Egerton’s side spoke up second, "It’s unwise for a young mother and child to remain here. It will be safer for you both to come with us."
As soon as the word "father" was mentioned, the little girl’s eyes lit up with a mix of excitement and curiosity, "Papa? Will Papa be there too?" she exclaimed.
Her father had been a mysterious figure in her life, and any mention of him always piqued her interest.
The third group, representing the Egerton clan, recognized the little girl’s eagerness to see her father and decided to gently address her question, "Your dad is doing important work in the military right now. However, you have a grandmother and grandfather who would love to meet you."
"Mama," the little girl piped up, her eyes hopeful, "Can Lily visit grandma and grandpa? Please?"
"Sweetheart," Elera began, "I know you’re excited to meet Grandma and Grandpa, but there are some people who want to hurt Mama. It’s not safe for us to visit them right now."
The little girl’s eyes widened in understanding as she remembered the times they had to hide from danger.
Elera continued, "But you know what? Your godfather is really looking forward to spending time with you. Would you like to meet him?"
The little girl considered this new idea for a moment, then a bright smile lit up her face, and she nodded enthusiastically, "Lily wants to meet Lily’s godfather too!"
