Chapter 526: 8.43 - Stinky Bun Will Watch Mommy’s back - Monster Heist

° Bing Shi knelt down to examine one of the ants and found no visible injuries or signs of illness. "This is strange," she said, furrowing her brow. "These ants are dying without any reason."

° Everyone immediately looked at the little boy in accusation. The ants obviously dropped dread from the stress Ying Xiong was placing on them.

° Ying Xiong looked up at the group, his innocent face behind the gask mask was confused, "Daddy?"

° Bing Shi chuckled and patted his head. "Maybe it’s something in the air. Like a gas or something. Let’s keep our masks on and be careful."

° After a while, they came across a large cavern where the tunnel split off into multiple paths. Bing Shi noticed her son’s fatigue and picked him up, "Let’s take a break," she said, finding a nearby rock to sit him on.

° "Come on, we can’t stop now," Xiao Pu protested, "We don’t want to be caught in the middle of a high-traffic area like this. Let’s keep going."

° "Yeah, we can’t let a little kid slow us down," a mercenary chimed in, crossing his arms and tapping his foot disapprovingly.

° "Maybe we should take it a little slower," another suggested, "After all, Stinky Bun is not quite ready to keep up with the big bois yet."

° Despite being a female mercenary, she still referred to herself as a part of the ’Big Bois’. Yes, their master named their crew like that to highlight just how small in size their young master was.

° "We’re taking a break, and that’s final," Bing Shi said firmly.

° The other mercenaries grumbled and muttered, but eventually, they begrudgingly settled down for a rest. Not for long because like Xiao Pu said, this was a high-traffic area where ants swarmed at them from all sides.

° The group of mercenaries quickly split into smaller teams to defend the various paths. Bing Shi tied her son to her back, and ensured he was not only comfortable but also safe.

° "How is my little warrior feeling?" she whispered in his ear as she gave orders to the other mercenaries.

° The sulking boy snuggled tightly against her back, watching his mommy join the fight with his half-closed eyes, "Mommy, mommy." Stinky Bun only took down one ant.

° "That’s perfectly fine. Even though mommy didn’t take down the most ants, the other big bois still have to listen to mommy the most, see?" giving out a few orders, she grinned at her confused son, "Stinky Bun doesn’t have to kill the most ants to show them your bravery either."

° As they continued to fend off the swarms of ants, Bing Shi noticed that they were no longer dropping dead without any explanation. Ying Xiong also wasn’t as exhausted as before and was back on his legs, chasing the ants with his wooden sword.

° "Mommy, mommy!" Ying Xiong hit the legs of the ant. They are much stronger than before! He huffed as the ant caught him with its mandibles, lifting him up into the air.

° The other mercenaries quickly rushed over, trying to pry the ant’s mandibles open to free Ying Xiong.

° Xiao Pu scolded, shooting a bullet through the ant’s head, "Ying Xiong, what did Daddy tell you about being too reckless? You need to be more careful!"

° Baby Shiro added, "Yeah, and you can’t let your guard down just because the ants were weaker before. Always stay alert."

° Bing Shi flew up to the little boy that was still clutched by the ant and sent him into their space, "Are you alright?"

° Ying Xiong nodded with a sniff, "Mommy, mommy." It was a big ant, Mommy. He said, his voice trembling slightly, hiding his fear. "Mommy, mommy." It came out of nowhere and grabbed Stinky Bun’s tummy.

° Bing Shi gently took off his combat suit to check for any bruises or injuries, making sure he wasn’t hurt, "Looks like you got a few bruises here and there, but nothing serious," she said, relieved, rubbing some cooling ointment on his body before putting back on the combat suit.

° Stinky Bun was used to being sent home every time he got into danger.

° Daddy thought if Stinky Bun was not held accountable for his actions, he would start to take risks without consequences.

° While being grounded, Daddy would try to help him understand what went wrong and how he could do better next time.

° Mommy admitted that Mommy didn’t know what mistake Stinky Bun made because she wasn’t a good fighter like Daddy. She only reminded him to thank others for saving him, even though they hadn’t been kind to Stinky Bun.

° "What happened to Stinky Bun can happen to big bois too. Can you help mommy check if her goggles are on tight, so we can both stay safe?"

° Stinky Bun inspected his mommy’s gear. He made sure she had the right goggles to protect her eyes and the right protective gear to keep her safe. After making sure everything was in order, he nodded. "Mommy, mommy!" You’re all set, Mommy!

° The mother and son duo quickly went back to fight the ants again, with Ying Xiong riding on his mother’s back this time around.

° The mercenaries starred in surprise at the boy who was using sign language to thank them, winning them over with his cuteness! 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

° "Are you serious?" XiaoPu didn’t expect them to return, which meant he would have to stay in this dirt hole for longer, "Why did you bring him back after he was almost eaten up by an ant?"

° "Stinky Bun is not scared, so why should I be?" Bing Shi handed her son a toy gun to practice his shooting skills with paint bullets, "Even though Stinky Bun may not be able to fight off an ant on his own, there are still other ways he can help us."

° She wondered how her husband was able to make Stinky Bun stay ’obediently’ at home. Occasionally scaring the little boy with literal monsters seemed to be his solution, "Remember, everyone’s safety is always our top priority."

° Ying Xiong nodded eagerly, holding the toy gun tightly. "Mommy, mommy." Stinky Bun will watch your back, Mommy.

° "Thank you. You also need to watch other’s backs so they won’t be eaten by an ant," entrusting her son with an important task, Bing Shi turned to the side, "And if you ever get tired or need a break, it’s important to tell mommy, understand?"

° Ying Xiong nodded, "Mommy, mommy!" Yes, mommy! He took his job very seriously and kept a close eye on the dead ants, so they wouldn’t suddenly come back to life and attack them.
