Psychic Overlord-Chapter 91: The Battle of Al-Rafid 3
Chapter 91: The Battle of Al-Rafid 3
Kaizer and Bjorn stood side by side, both of their eyes glancing down on the battlefield from above like overarching gods. Kaizer had a calm expression while Bjorn grinned widely, even though the scene below showed Kaizer’s people winning greatly.
"Hahaha, this is interesting! Well, Overlord, after your people win, what’s the plan? Will all of you fight me together or will you fight me alone?" Bjorn finished his question with slightly narrowed eyes.
Kaizer felt immense pressure begin to act upon him, letting him know that the moment he gave the wrong answer, battle would ensue. As the young man frowned and pondered how best to answer based on the situation, a gust of sudden wind appeared and struck at Kaizer, sending him flying into a nearby wall, embedding him deep within.
The gust of wind revealed itself to be a young man with extremely light brown hair, a slender build, and a windbreaker that covered the lower half of his face, only revealing his dark eyes. The fellow stood protectively in front of Bjorn, speaking quickly.
"Brother, you must leave quickly! The situation downstairs is not good, and we are destined to lose! I will hold this bastard back while you take the lead!" Soren said quickly, his body beginning to vibrate on the spot.
However, all Soren got was a whack to the face, sending him flying to another side and crashing through some gargoyle statues. Bjorn, who hit him, had a mixture of a cold and apologetic expression.
"Thank you for the concern, Brother, but there is no way I will lose to an upstart like this, not to mention that Valhalla spurns all those who flee from battle." Bjorn stated while glancing towards Soren casually.
"Now as for you..." Bjorn said menacingly as he cracked his neck, his muscles rippling as his power surged through them.
The dust settled, and Kaizer walked out of the area where he had been sent crashing into without a single scratch on his person, only a slightly dented psychic barrier to show for all of Soren’s hard work.
"You are just as foolish as Vegeta, harming your own ally." Kaizer stated with a bit of disgust.
Bjorn did not seem to care. "I don’t know what that is, but it doesn’t matter. He should know better than to suggest such a thing to me, so my punishment is light, considering our years of brotherhood."
"Anyway, enough of that. Show me your mettle, Overlord!" Bjorn roared as he spread his arms out and charged forward.
The speed at which Bjorn moved belied his humongous physical stature, causing Kaizer’s brow to furrow. He immediately responded by unleashing a full-force psychic cannon in Bjorn’s direction, which directly shattered a majority of the manor’s roof area and sent it flying miles away.
Bjorn grunted in discomfort, blocking his face as his customized clothing almost ripped apart on the spot. His casual expression became solemn because he never expected Kaizer’s telekinetic power to be so powerful.
Was it not said that this guy’s telesthesia was the real problem? Since when did mere telekinetic power reach such levels?
Bjorn had no time to consider this as he increased his power usage to 40% on the spot, countering the second psychic cannon Kaizer unleashed towards him and still charging forth with a roar.
Kaizer sighed internally as that really was the full force of his raw telekinetic power at work, meaning that even against certain S-class espers, he was not yet overpowered. However, that was fine, as there were better ways to use telekinetic power in combat rather than just throw it forward.
Immediately, a thin blue outline formed around his body as he entered a boxing stance, instead setting his feet strongly in order to receive Bjorn’s attack and measure his strength head-on.
The Beast did not throw a punch, but rather attempted to grapple Kaizer, which led to them clasping each other’s palms and pushing against one another to try and gain an advantage. Looking at Kaizer - who was tall but still overshadowed by the massive Bjorn - any onlooker would grimace, thinking that Kaizer was about to be crushed into paste.
However, to the contrary, Kaizer’s expression was that of intense focus while Bjorn was surprised, the two of them evenly matched as they exerted their force against each other.
Bjorn’s eyes couldn’t help but flicker, hesitant to raise his power output above 50% because from there, backlash would occur. Not only would his intelligence and sanity decline, but his physical body would also wear rapidly, causing him to be severely debilitated for a period of time depending on how much power he exerted.
At his current 40%, you could say he was somewhat going all out, just like Kaizer. Bjorn had no doubts that his opponent, Overlord, could also break some limiter and utilize power far beyond his means, but neither of them wished to go that far.
Kaizer came here for training, not because he was invested in the armed conflict here, and the same held true for Bjorn, who only came to fight strong espers, and the war situation could go to hell for all he cared.
This clash seemed to create some unspoken understanding between the two as they broke off and began brawling, utilizing their full power within their safe ranges to combat each other. Bjorn threw his first punch which clashed against a psychic barrier Kaizer put up, and to his surprise, caused it to crack significantly. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
This was just a normal jab from Bjorn, whereas Soren ran using super speed and used accumulated momentum to cause a minor dent. However, the young man did not have time to think further as he punched forward to meet Bjorn’s next blow head-on, being forced back three steps while Bjorn remained in the same position.
At the end of the day, Kaizer was enhancing himself using his trained body and telekinesis to achieve such power, but this was Bjorn’s field of expertise. To expect to beat him in it was far-fetched for the current Kaizer, so he had to become more cunning.
As such, the domain which he purposefully suppressed to get a hang of this battle was unleashed, and with it, Kaizer’s entire movement changed as well. As Bjorn charged forward with another hefty swing, Kaizer dodged it with ease and landed a blow on Bjorn’s gut, causing the man to grunt painfully.
Bjorn was used to pain, reacting quickly to use his other hand to make a sweeping attack, but Kaizer dodged that with a hair’s breadth and used his free hand to launch an uppercut that smashed Bjorn’s jaw, causing him to fly upwards a little before landing down heavily.
Bjorn was a little dizzy but quickly regained his footing and stomped, leaping forward with a blast of speed unlike anything before, attempting to clothesline Kaizer with his left hand. Kaizer’s eyes narrowed as he noticed a ripple in Bjorn’s movement, meaning that he was feinting.
To bait out the feint, Kaizer pretended to avoid the clothesline, only to see Bjorn grin crazily as he raised a knee that would strike Kaizer in the gut for sure. Kaizer was quick, but the position he was in did not allow for him to move quick enough to dodge unless he wanted to fall to the ground, in which case Bjorn would be even happier as he could stomp his brains out.
But Kaizer did not need to move his body with his muscles when he could do so with his mind. So, in a very unscientific and inhuman fashion, Kaizer’s entire form shifted to the side at once, as if a giant hand pushed him out of the way, causing Bjorn’s feinted attack to fail.
What he got for it was a roundhouse kick from Kaizer empowered by telekinesis, striking the upper part of his back and causing Bjorn to fly into a nearby wall. He groaned in pain as he pushed himself out of the trap while coughing a bit of blood since Kaizer hit an important point, but Bjorn’s pain was just beginning.
Kaizer ’dashed’ over using telekinesis, moving even faster than Soren, and struck again with a flying dropkick. As both feet smashed into Bjorn’s back, he dug deeper into the wall, and Kaizer began to lay into the fellow by throwing full-force punches and kicks while The Beast couldn’t respond.
Was it wrong to strike a man in the back while they were helpless? Kaizer did not much care either way and this was precisely what Rina was referring to.
"Hm?" Kaizer dodged an incoming blow from Soren, who had gotten up.
The speedster had expected his attack to hit just like the first time, not realizing that Kaizer only allowed that first hit in order to buy him time to not answer Bjorn’s question back then. However, now that the battle began anyway, he no longer had any qualms.
Kaizer did not bother to waste time with Soren, unleashing a raw psychic cannon on the fellow point blank, causing Soren’s skin to be flayed off his body, leaving his bloody skeleton behind on the spot.
