Chapter 114: 8 Months Training 1

Dean Rochester shook his head. "This is mostly due to your youth. Kaizer, you have told me about your actions after Carla attacked you, and ever since then, I have held you in the highest esteem. My pride for you overflows from my very bones."

"You awakened after a traumatic event and immediately concealed your abilities from any suspicious persons while you began to research them and how to improve your power. Most lads your age would have been fearful and shared their changes with the authorities, seeking help and protection."

The Dean gave Kaizer a deep look. "You even resorted to perusing the depths of fiction related to your power to see all theoretical applications of your power that countless authors and creators had envisioned, then categorized these powers into a formal system called the Six Paths of the Mind."

"Being able to do this made me put you on a pedestal and assume you would be able to handle anything that came your way, forgetting that you are still a young man who needs to grow and reach his peak."

The Dean took a marker and walked to the whiteboard. "But your battle with Davion showed your biggest flaws, and that is why I am personally here to teach you this time. Why did you fail against Davion? Why did I say you shouldn’t have lost?"

He began drawing on the board, illustrating Davion in an ugly way that made Kaizer’s lips twitch at the Dean’s artistic skills.

"Let’s take things from your perspective. You have suddenly been attacked by a person you couldn’t detect with telepathy or telesthesia, so you have to react quickly and provide a response. Your response is naturally to put up a psychic barrier, but it is instantly shattered by your foe who moves at speeds that your telesthesia cannot follow."

"On top of that, your telepathy is a dud and cannot assist you in understanding the thoughts of your attacker and predicting their attacks based on that. This naturally puts you in a tough spot where you try to take the initiative to attack, but your blows are sliding off the foe like water on an umbrella."

The Dean finished illustrating the battle and wrote down the key difficulties Kaizer faced before turning to the silent young man. "Do I have this right?"

Kaizer nodded slowly.

Dean Rochester smiled slightly. "Good. Now, since you did not have time stop at the time, I will work with all the abilities I know you possess at this moment."

Dean Rochester turned to the whiteboard and began drawing new things. "Previously, I told you you lacked creativity, resourcefulness, and adaptability, and this is manifested in your rigid thinking when encountering problems."

"Would you believe me if I told you that just telekinesis alone, with telesthesia or telepathy, could have resolved your situation and brought the fight to a draw, if not your victory?" Dean Rochester asked seriously.

Kaizer was silent, then nodded. "You definitely have a method you are certain would have worked, so I do believe it."

Dean Rochester smiled with appreciation, but there was a hint of sadness. "It is precisely because you have their superior insightful nature and logical ability that I almost overlooked the other things you needed."

"First of all, your biggest issue was dealing with young Eleanor’s attacks, because as Davion revealed to you later, she was an S+ class esper during her life with an ability of precognition and superhuman kinetic reflexes, allowing her to move rapidly and respond to any attack or defensive method."

"On top of that, they had something that could negate the psychic power you outputted, forcing you to rely on telekinetic enhancement to barely keep up and maintain a tentative defense."

Dean Rochester tapped his staff down. "This was your first mistake."

"I have also managed to identify the reason for this mistake. When you first awoke, your mental stamina and fighting power were weak, so you subconsciously always felt that using your telekinesis to lift or carry items was inefficient and wasteful."

"However, this is actually the core of telekinetic ability, the ability to control physical objects with the mind. Raw telekinetic force was ineffective on Eleanor, but items controlled by telekinesis are not."

Dean Rochester sighed and tapped on the whiteboard where a big boulder was drawn with an arrow towards Kaizer’s depiction.

"Eleanor can instantly shatter your psychic barrier? No problem, use telekinesis to lift up a slab of stone from the manor and put it in front of you. She can bypass those defenses using her speed? No problem, shatter the slab into pieces and place it around you at various key points so that she is forced to shatter these smaller objects to reach you."

"How to attack her? There are many ways. First off, she doesn’t have your telesthesia, meaning she is relying on raw sensory ability to detect you, so use telekinesis to dig into the ground and throw up a huge amount of sand and dust, forming a cloud that surrounds your area."

"Move quickly within and lose her, then rely on your telesthesia to track her. Without lock-on to you, the puppet cannot maintain its speed, allowing you to have the initiative. In terms of raw attack and damage dealing, you can use large items like stone slabs to smash down on the puppet, but that might not work given the precognitive ability she has."

"To defeat that, overwhelm her with countless small attacks that she cannot react to while hiding the severe blow among them. For example, you can shatter the large stone slab you were going to throw over and send countless pebbles hurtling towards her, causing her to block or evade, while concealing a particularly sharp wooden stake or pebble among the harmless round ones and using it to pierce her head."

Dean Rochester stopped here, his whiteboard now full of linked illustrations that looked like a child’s comic portraying their superhero as unbeatable by the foe.

Kaizer was silent as he raised a hand to his upper lip, leaning in his seat with thoughtfulness.

Dean Rochester smiled. "Of course, my suggestions are not perfect and do not guarantee a hundred percent success. However, they are actions that have a superior chance at a positive outcome compared to what you took, and these things require what I just spoke about; creativity, resourcefulness, and adaptability."

"That is what I am here to teach you during this coming period of time, along with making sure to train you to the maximum limit of your ability." Dean Rochester explained as he pushed the whiteboard aside slightly.

"First we will start with theory, then practicals. Premier on the agenda is telekinesis, your fundamental offensive and defensive power with countless applications yet to be dug out." Dean Rochester said as he moved to the side and wrote "telekinesis" and made bullet points underneath.

"First, according to your Six Paths of the Mind, what are the applications of telekinesis?" Dean Rochester asked with a glance toward Kaizer.

Kaizer tapped the desk and leaned forward, eyes flickering thoughtfully toward the whiteboard.

Then he spoke, his voice calm and steady. "Telekinesis, at its core, is Force Projection. So the most basic application is pushing, using direct force to move or repel an object or person. It can be as small as nudging a coin or as large as flipping a truck."

Dean Rochester nodded slowly. "Go on."

"There’s also the inverse, which is pulling, essentially drawing something towards me. This can be weapons, objects, enemies, and can be used for both combat and utility."

"Standard fundamentals, what else?" the Dean confirmed.

Kaizer continued. "Then there’s Telekinetic Enhancement, which is infusing the power into my own body. It boosts my movement speed, jump height, reaction time, and attack power by reinforcing my limbs. It’s not perfect though, as too much of it and I start damaging my muscles internally from the pressure."

Rochester smiled faintly. "Exactly why I had you train your body to resist the wear and tear of that power. Continue."

"There is also Object Control," Kaizer said next.

"This one is about fine motor control, being a more advanced application of telekinesis. By controlling individual objects in unique ways, like bending spoons, controlling multiple blades in mid-air, or reshaping malleable substances, I can move them around with my mind."

The Dean’s eyes condensed with amusement. "Any other applications?"

Kaizer nodded. "Terrain manipulation, as you just said. I can dig, fling rubble, create makeshift barriers or blind spots, disrupt footing." freewebnσvel.cøm

Dean Rochester folded his arms, prompting Kaizer to go on.

"Corpse control," Kaizer said more quietly, making the Dean raise his eyebrows.

Kaizer continued with a deep breath. "It’s not exactly the same as typical necromancy. By using telekinesis to manipulate dead bodies and moving their muscles, I can puppeteer them."

"Yes, you told me about that during Summit Hill’s attack. Keep going." the Dean admitted.

"Then there’s micro-manipulation. It’s the idea of controlling microscopic movements, like altering the position of molecules in the air to create heat or disrupting electronics. I haven’t achieved that level of precision yet, but it’s a theoretical future path." Kaizer added after a bit of thought.

Rochester’s smile widened. "You’ve truly studied, but there is much more to telekinesis than just this. Let me enlighten you."
