Upon noticing Lu Chuan’s arrival, he greeted him with a smile on his face.

"Young Master Lu, you’ve finally arrived," the elder said.

"Great Elder, what did you want to see me for?" Lu Chuan asked.

"Well, I met with the City Lord of Carefree City last night. Over dinner, I mentioned you to him, and after hearing about you, he insisted on meeting you," the elder explained.

"The City Lord wants to see me? What for?" Lu Chuan asked curiously.

"It’s something very important, of course. Why don’t you go and see for yourself? I can take you there if you like."

Gu Xiaorou interjected, "There’s no need to trouble the Great Elder. I know the way; I’ll lead the way."

Standing at the entrance gate, Lu Chuan asked Gu Xiaorou, "Have you been to the City Lord’s Mansion before?"

"Who goes there? What business do you have here?" they asked.

The soldier asked in a serious tone,

"We are here to see the City Lord, please open the gate."

"State your names."

Lu Chuan stepped forward and said, "My name is Lu Chuan, I am here at the invitation of the City Lord."

"Lu Chuan?"

The soldier pondered for a moment and then said, "Go on in."

The City Lord had given them instructions earlier that morning, so he let Lu Chuan through directly.

Gu Xiaorou and Gu Xiaosang naturally followed him in.

As soon as Gu Xiaosang entered, she immediately began looking around curiously.

"This is my first time at the City Lord’s Mansion. It looks so imposing here," she exclaimed.

He threatened her sternly.

The servants by his side continued to move forward, trying to grab Gu Xiaorou.

Just then, Lu Chuan raised his right hand, grabbed one of the servants’ arms, and then kicked him, sending him flying into the bushes nearby.

He bellowed, and immediately more than a dozen figures walked over, weapons in hand, confronting Lu Chuan.
