Protagonist's Evil System: My Girlfriend Turned Into A Dragon-Chapter 89 Moving Forward
The weather was getting colder by the minute, and Lucas felt himself shivering. He wrapped his arms around his chest.
"What do you mean?" Lya asked, "we're right here."
He stared at her as he held his head, "did you lose your senses?"
Lya pulled away from Notru to face Lucas, "let us explain."
"No, I'm going to find Kali," Lucas said.
"Is that so?" Lya asked, "but if you look around you, you'll see that you're surrounded by enemies and that you won't be able to move anywhere."
"Well, then maybe you can tell me where she is," Lucas snapped.
The situation was tense between these two, and Lucas knew that it would only get worse if he doesn't keep his cool. He had to stay focused, and he wouldn't allow himself to make any mistakes.
"Calm down, Lucas," Lya told him, "and listen to us."
"And why should I?" He shouted forgetting what he just thought a minute ago.
Notru and Kalaini moved their hands towards Lucas, but he ignored them.
"We need you to calm down before anything happens," Lya said.
"Why?" Lucas asked.
Lya took a deep breath, "because we need to talk to you about Kali, and we can't do that when you're angry."
"You say that you two are my friends, but you can't even tell me where she is?" Lucas's blood pressure was rising, as anger was circulating through his veins.
The eyes that usually were filled with kindness and confusion were now empty. His eyebrows were lowered and pulled closer together every time he would listen to Lya talk.
"She is being protected," Lya told him.
"By who?" Lucas's lip tightened.
Lya opened her eyes wide, "by the man that brought us here."
"The guy that you guys were talking about earlier? Do you mean 'Raven'? He's the one protecting Kali?" Lucas's jaw tensed and pointed downwards.
"Yes," Kalaini answered.
"It doesn't make sense, why would they protect her and how do you know?" Lucas asked again.
"Don't you remember?" Lya asked.
"Remember what?" His lips curled inwards.
"When Raven offered you a choice, and you ignored them, and you chose to save your friends instead."
"Oh yeah, now I remember. So, Raven is protecting Kali?" Lucas's eyes bulged.
"Yes," Kalaini said.
"How?"
"With magic, of course," Lya said, "he is an expert in that kind of thing, as far as I know..."
Kalaini observing their conversation was able to understand that they also had an encounter with Raven, did she want to talk and tell Lucas what was actually happening right now?
"It's best if we summon the system now," Haya finally said, "we can't go on like this anymore. We've been doing this for too long, and we're exhausted."
"I think it's time to end this," Lya added.
Lucas nodded, "Okay, I agree." He lowered and released the tension from his hands.
Haya looked at him, "summon it, he said," and then pointed his finger at the sky. A small white orb appeared above them, and it started to expand.
"What is that?" Lucas asked as his mouth opened a little. f𝐫ee𝘄ℯ𝚋no𝐯𝐞l.c𝘰m
"A portal," Lya explained, "it will take us back to my castle. It's safer than staying here."
"Are you sure?" Notru asked stepping back.
"Yes," Lya replied.
"What about Kali? And what about the monsters that were attacking the castle?" Lucas folded his fists again.
The orb grew bigger until it became a transparent sheet that covered the entire area. The light inside the sheet began to shine brighter until the whole place was illuminated by the light.
"I guess it's time to go back to the castle" Lucas sighed, understanding that no one will do anything right now.
Maybe it was for the best, they all needed to rest, after that with a fresh mind he could go and search for Kali. He also had too many unanswered questions; how was he able to wield a sword, why the system was finally obeying him and who exactly is Raven and what do they want?

Kali was relieved to hear that Lucas was alive. She was worried for him, knowing that he might be in danger. However, his words seemed to assure her that everything was fine.
"Thanks for the update," Kali smiled as she looked at the bowl of dirty water that was given to her right now.
The cell she was locked in right now didn't smell good at all. There was a foul odour coming out of the walls, and the water looked like it was made from sewage. T
he dirty bedding was full of bloodstains, and there was no ventilation whatsoever.
"How do you feel?" A man with green as spring forest hair asked her.
"Like shit," Kali replied as she let a sigh out.
The situation wasn't the best, but Kali knew that she couldn't show weakness. She would have to cope with whatever happened next.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"What do you mean?" Kali sarcastically sighed then smiled.
The man who had broad shoulders and was as tall as Haya spoke slowly to her, not allowing Kali to miss a single word, "do you want to talk about why you killed that person?"
Kali shook her head, "no."
"Then you shouldn't," the man continued, "if you don't want to talk, you should just say so." His tone was low, but his voice was high-pitched.
His dark-as-the-night eyes were staring straight into Kali, she felt shivers running down her spine every time he would open his mouth.
There was no sunlight in his eyes, the dark pupils were completely covered by the black color. A strange feeling of fear came over Kali, she didn't like this man, and she wanted to run away, but she couldn't move.
"Is that all?" The man asked lifting his hands up.
"No, I'll get out of here, I'm going to find Lucas," Kali said, and she stood up.
The man put his hand on her shoulder, "don't think that you will be able to escape easily, you know."
Kali backed off quickly, "that's enough, I have to get out of here, I need to contact the other members."
The man stared at Kali for a while, and then he closed his eyes. As he lifted his right knee up and struck her chin with it, Kali fell on the floor.
"You are going to be more careful next time," the man said, and then he turned around and walked out of the cell.
Kali was lying on the ground, unable to stand or even crawl, and she was bleeding, "Lucas...Where are you?" She gasped for more air as she let her last words out.
