Protagonist?Antagonist? I Reject Both-Chapter 400 -
Leon stood there watching Paul’s battered figure with a blank expression. He was about to take a step when a loud voice echoed across the district.
The voice exuded a certain amount of pressure that startled everyone out there.
"Leon... You are requested to meet General Zhan immediately. "
Leon’s eyes glowed and his body erupted with a pressure that created a vortex frightening the onlookers who took a step away in fear of what was about to come.
The announcer, as if perceiving the danger of life, adjusted his tone,"And yeah, it isn’t an order, but rather a sincere request."
Leon’s lips twitched at this. "You didn’t need to specify that part. What do you think of me?"
"An unreasonable brute…" Leon muttered, looking around as if seeking agreement from the onlookers, but everyone who met his gaze quickly looked away.
Ael, who was among them, shouted,"Of course you aren’t a brute."
"You just have a few screws loose causing you to kill anyone with the slightest disobedience."Ael
"Sigh... these crude people," he muttered, exasperated while showing a middle finger to Ael warning him to keep himself checked.
Ael sensing danger sneaked behind Morbius.
Lucien dashed up to Leon, his face clouded with anxiety. "Will you be okay? What if this is a trap? You could be attacked there."
Leon sighed and flicked the boy’s forehead. "You have watched too many movies, kids…"
"Movies?" Ael chimed in, leaning in curiously.
"Are you talking about those videos on the screen? They look weird but kind of interesting…"
Leon rolled his eyes, glancing over at Morbius. "Hey, keep an eye on this kid."
Morbius nodded, a serious look crossing his face. "Don’t worry. I’ll make sure he stays out of trouble."
Leon raised an eyebrow. "When did I ask you to take care of him? I just want him to stop wandering around, getting lost, and picking fights and beating others."
Ael burst out laughing, and Morbius chuckled, while Lucien shot Leon a wounded look, as if to say, Am I really that much trouble?
Leon didn’t hesitate. "Yes, you are."
...
As Leon arrived at General Zhan’s office in Sector 12, he took in the room’s formidable atmosphere. The walls were adorned with weapons and ancient artifacts, each piece bearing a history of conflict and conquest.
Gleaming halberds, finely crafted swords, and axes of all shapes and sizes hung in an intricate pattern, while spears with weathered shafts and ornately carved handles lined the wall like silent sentries.
Among them was a curved blade with markings in a long-forgotten language, and beside it, a set of small throwing knives—each one polished to a shine and inscribed with delicate symbols.
On another wall, heavier artifacts rested, seemingly imbued with power. Massive hammers, enchanted staffs, and even a crossbow with mechanical gears displayed the diverse craftsmanship of warriors and artisans from various regions. The room was a tribute to both destruction and protection, with weapons that had undoubtedly tasted blood and others that seemed purely ceremonial.
In the center of this armory stood General Zhan, a bald, imposing man with the appearance of a Shaolin monk, his head reflecting the light that seeped in from high windows. His calm exterior belied an aura of experience and wisdom honed over years of battle.
He sighed heavily in resignation as he looked at Leon observing him . "It hasn’t even been a day since you arrived, and it’s already a mess."
Leon shrugged, his face a mask of innocence. "I don’t see how that’s my fault. I always stay low-key and humble."
General Zhan nearly stumbled, giving Leon a look that clearly said, Do you even believe your own words?

"Why did you call me here?" Leon asked, a sharp glint in his eyes. "Are you trying to hold me responsible for something?"
General Zhan’s voice rose with irritation. "Hold you responsible… Do you think I could even do that?"

"No, I am even capable of doing that. You can surely beat my ass and stomp on my bald head. Hell, if I anger you who knows what you will do?"
Leon scrunched his brow and raised his hand," Excuse me but are you talking about me."
"Of course I am. You are behaving ignorantly but if I speak something out of turn, you might rip my head and play football with it.
"Sorry, but I don’t have friends, just girlfriends," Leon shrugged.
Looking at Leon, General Zhan recalled an old lesson from his master. Power gained too early only fuels recklessness. True strength comes with experience, crafting harmony between skill and wisdom.
Shaking his head, Zhan chose to dive straight to the point. "In fact, it’s good that you’re here. You might have heard about the opening of the secret realm?"
Leon nodded. "Hmm."
"My scouts have spotted Black Demons gathering there, and there’ve already been skirmishes. The forces we deployed are struggling to maintain order."
"So you want me to handle the chaos," Leon said with a smirk, puffing his chest. "Good idea. Leave it to me; I’m good at controlling things."
Zhan coughed, trying to stifle his reaction.’ If I put you in charge, I’d find ninety percent of the crowd missing or headless by tomorrow.’
"We’ve got forces in place. What I’m more concerned about is something inside the realm."
"Something inside?" Leon’s interest was piqued.
"Yes. The Black Demons seem particularly interested, almost as if they know what’s hidden there and are determined to get it at any cost."
Zhan continued, "According to rune experts from other races, only those below thirty in human years can enter."
Leon tilted his head, intrigued. "Then other species, like elves, can’t enter either?"
"Not exactly. An elf who’s a hundred years old is considered youthful in their world’s terms; it’s equivalent to about ten in human years. For other species, it’s similar. Basically, only those under the age of three hundred can enter except for humans."
"What the…? That’s blatant fucking favoritism!" Leon shot back, glaring.
Zhan fixed Leon with a stern gaze. "Mind your language."
Leon slumped slightly, rolling his eyes at the reprimand. Zhan only sighed. "It is what it is."
"Fine," Leon muttered, turning to leave, though his mind churned with possibilities about the secret realm.
