Chapter 607: Chapter 607: Love as Deep as the Sea, Naming the Baby (1)_1

"Mila, no need to see me off. I can go back on my own, and I’ll come over again this evening," Scarlett Taylor said with a smile in the courtyard to Mila Anderson, who was seeing her out. Scarlett wasn’t carrying the insulated food container. Julia hadn’t yet eaten the delicious meal Scarlett had brought, so Scarlett hadn’t taken the container back. Besides, there was another one at home, and by the time Scarlett returned in the evening, Julia would likely have finished her meal.

Mila Anderson’s face was now glowing with health, and she looked as if she had grown younger by a decade. She hadn’t visited the beauty salon for the past couple of days, too busy taking care of her precious grandson and her maternal grandson. Even with many servants at home and her sisters-in-law all eager to help with the children, she couldn’t bring herself to go to the beauty salon. She would only check on it occasionally since it was very close by, right outside the entrance of the Golden Kirin Garden.

Any unhappiness from her divorce with Gian Horne seemed to have vanished from her face; she was always smiling and cheerful when she spoke. "Mm, Scarlett, we will take good care of Julia. Glades knows her appetite very well, so you don’t have to worry about her being hungry or thirsty. You don’t need to bring any more food over this evening. Don’t tire yourself out."

Scarlett Taylor smiled and, after a moment’s thought, agreed, "Alright, I won’t bring food over then. With Glades there, I’m completely at ease. I’ll be going now and will come back later."

Having said that, she bid Mila Anderson farewell, got into her car, and drove away.

It was only after Scarlett Taylor’s car was out of sight that Mila Anderson, with a gentle smile, turned and headed back inside the house.

Inside Julia’s room, Ruby Bluen hadn’t yet left. The baby had fallen asleep and had been put back into the crib by the nanny. Julia was lying on the bed, with the nanny temporarily resting and watching television in the outer room, while Ruby sat by the crib.

She gently rocked the crib with her hand on its edge and whispered, "Julia, the baby is so adorable. When he sleeps, he’s like a little angel, softening anyone’s heart."

"Indeed, he’s a darling when he’s asleep, but he’s always crying when he awakes. I’m still not clear about why he cries. Sometimes I think he’s hungry, but when I feed him, he doesn’t eat much before crying again. Then I realize he’s wet himself. This little guy is so particular about cleanliness; he cries if he’s wet, if he’s soiled his diaper, or if he’s hungry. Fortunately, the nanny is here to take care of him. If I had to do it all on my own, I’d be overwhelmed," Julia said from the bed, her voice a mixture of complaint and affection. Women are different; once they become mothers, maternal love seems to emanate effortlessly, warming the heart. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

"Mm, I’ve been watching some baby care programs these past few days. It can be a bit challenging to take care of newborns, but after three months, it should get easier." Ruby looked affectionately at the cute baby, her face softening. She longed for a baby too, a baby of her and Marcel Horne’s.

Julia nodded.

"Sis, you and Brother Marcel should consider having a baby too. Brother Marcel can stand up on his own now, and he can also walk a bit by himself. He won’t be far from a full recovery," Julia suddenly suggested.

After half a year of treatment, Marcel Horne had managed to stand up again. He was no longer using a wheelchair; he was standing and walking on his own. However, since he hadn’t fully recovered, he couldn’t walk very far. He had to rest after a short distance, or his feet would still hurt.

Even so, his recovery was rapid.

The doctors’ most optimistic initial prognosis was that it would take at least half a year for him to stand again. He managed to stand in less than six months, and now, half a year later, he could walk on his own. Dr. Lei repeatedly said it was a miracle.

It was a miracle, a miracle of love.

Because he loved Ruby, he wanted to stand up sooner and become the sky above Ruby once more, to shelter her from the storm and provide her with a truly happy life.

Every day, Ruby stayed by his side. She accompanied him through treatment, encouraged him to walk, and spent countless days and nights with him, almost never going out. He felt her sacrifice deeply.

They had been married for over half a year, and to take care of him, she hadn’t even dared to think about getting pregnant.

Ruby had sacrificed so much for him; the only way he felt he could repay her was to recover as quickly as possible.

Ruby blushed and, after another glance at the baby, smiled and said, "We’ll think about it."

She got up, went over to sit by Julia’s bedside, looked at her with a smile, and asked, "How are you feeling now? Are you doing alright?"

Julia, lying in bed, said with self-deprecating humor, "I feel like a pig in a pen now—eating then sleeping, sleeping then eating—and it’s unbearably hot." Postpartum women couldn’t use air conditioning as it was bad for them. Even with some windows open, it still felt very hot. She lay on the bed, sweating profusely and hardly able to sleep.

Ruby laughed too, gently touched Julia’s forehead, and said, "Is it really that terrible? But you’re right, the weather has been incredibly hot these past few days. I think it’s going to rain. The temperature will become cooler then."

"Let it rain, let it rain. It would be best if it rained every day, so I can get some good sleep."

For the first time, Julia wished for rain every day.

For someone accustomed to summer days with air conditioning, it was unbearable to go without it.

But postpartum women who use air conditioning too much during their confinement can develop health problems. It’s said that some women became paralyzed, confined to a wheelchair for life, because they used air conditioning during their confinement. It’s different in the hospital, where postpartum women are still on an IV and the exposure isn’t long, so there isn’t much impact.

"Alright, maybe the heavens have heard your prayers, and it’ll start raining soon. You should rest a bit; I won’t disturb you any longer." Ruby took a few tissues from the box on the nightstand, tenderly wiped Julia’s sweat, then stood up. At Julia’s urging, "Sis, come visit when you have time, I get so bored," Ruby left the room.

After leaving Julia’s room, she went to check on Adele. There was no one else in Adele’s room at the moment. Adele was suffering from the heat and had secretly turned on the air conditioning to enjoy it.

When Ruby Bluen knocked, Adele, startled, hurriedly turned off the air conditioner.

By the time Ruby Bluen entered, Adele was pretending to lie in bed nonchalantly.

"Second sister-in-law." She greeted Ruby with a broad smile.

"Adele, did you turn on the air conditioner?" As soon as Ruby entered the room, she felt the cool air, and a reproachful expression appeared on her beautiful round face.
