Chapter 441: Chapter 440 The Pregnant Woman, Special Treatment (1)_1

When Glades Horne learned his sister had decided to keep the child, he wanted to say something. However, upon receiving Julia Bluen’s glance, he chose to purse his lips and remain silent. He quietly escorted the two most important women in his life out of his best friend’s private hospital. Of course, his best friend would absolutely keep his visit and its purpose a secret and destroy any traces. Otherwise... he’d be sweeping streets!

The fact that Cosmos Group and the Evans Family’s company had gone bankrupt was enough to shock his best friend to death.

Mila Anderson called, urging Glades Horne to bring Julia Bluen home immediately to drink the nourishing soup she prepared daily. Mila now competed with Scarlett Taylor over chores, as both mothers wanted to offer Julia the best. Yet, Julia’s morning sickness was severe; she vomited everything she ate. She had lost weight as a result, which worried them even more.

Knowing her mother-in-law had called again, Julia turned her head to glance at Adele Horne, seated beside her. Usually, her domineering husband would be sitting beside her, but this time she had firmly moved Glades to the front passenger seat with the bodyguards. She and Adele then sat in the back. The two soon-to-be mothers could share some whispers.

Throughout the journey, Glades never said a word about Adele deciding to keep the child. He simply watched silently through the rearview mirror, his eyes taking in the expressions of the two women in the backseat.

What struck him the most was that his sister, once imperious and unable to distinguish friend from foe, was now truly mature and responsible. After all, it took a lot of courage to become a single, unwed mother. Soon, rumors would swirl—rumors his sister would have to face herself. No matter how powerful he was, he wasn’t a god, not omnipotent. He couldn’t keep her pregnancy a secret. This meant that when the rumors inevitably started, he would be unable to silence everyone.

His sister must have considered all this when deciding to keep the child, and still, she chose to do so. The best he could do—what he *had* to do—was to stand behind her, silently supporting and caring for her, becoming the strongest pillar of support from her maternal family.

「Grand Court Gardens.」

The roadside green belts remained lush, unchanged by the deep winter. These verges, planted by the developers, were filled with hardy, evergreen species.

Beyond the wide main road, countless smaller paths branched off, making the routes within Grand Court Gardens seem intricate. Thankfully, every small path eventually connected back to a main road.

「Inside the large Bluen Family villa.」

The cold could not sweep away the warmth within. The solitude of winter could not hide the joy of the Bluen Family.

After meticulous selection by Scarlett Taylor and Sovia Morris, they finally found a good date before the New Year for Julia Bluen and Marcel Horne, a couple who had endured so much, to enter the wedding chapel.

Although Marcel was in a wheelchair, his mindset had entirely changed, and his foot injury was healing very quickly. Dr. Lei treated him daily. Proper rehabilitation could only begin after the New Year; for now, his treatment focused on the external foot injury.

Getting married before the New Year meant he would be waiting in the church, in his wheelchair, for his bride to arrive.

He considered refusing this kind of wedding, thinking about waiting until he was fully recovered and could stand again before marrying Ruby Bluen. But Ruby disagreed, declaring she wouldn’t mind whether he was standing or sitting when she walked down the aisle. As long as he was waiting for her at the other end of the red carpet, she would be more than satisfied.

After being discharged from the hospital, Marcel Horne’s affection for Ruby Bluen grew deeper. Ruby would visit the Horne family every day to personally take care of him while also managing her work, which touched his heart immensely. The once cold expression on his face softened into a pool of spring water whenever he faced Ruby. Just like Glades Horne doted on Julia Bluen, he silently promised himself never to let Ruby suffer even the slightest grievance. He vowed to cherish Ruby as much as his brother cherished Julia.

Any dissatisfaction Sovia Morris had once harbored against Ruby had been worn away by Ruby’s genuine actions.

She believed that true love shows in hard times. When her son was injured and might never stand again, Ruby was still willing to continue loving him, taking care of him, and valuing him more than her own life. Such love, such devotion, made it impossible for Sovia to continue opposing their relationship.

Besides, due to the close relationship between the Horne and Bluen families, the elders had watched these young ones grow up. Sovia knew Ruby well. Her initial opposition and dislike had stemmed from Ruby jilting her fiancé at the altar, causing the Horne family to lose face. Now she thought it was fortunate that Ruby had fled that wedding. Facing a man as formidable as Glades Horne, Ruby had dared to run away, which inadvertently changed the fates of four people and could be seen as saving them.

Old Horne was a former military man, and his understanding and tolerance were even greater.

Ever since Marcel had submitted the new marriage application, Old Qiu had discussed it with him on several occasions. He had come to accept Ruby even before Sovia Morris did. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

「Inside the house.」

At the long dining table, the Bluen family—all except for Julia, who was already married—was present. Sovia Morris and her family of three were also there.

Having discussed the children’s upcoming marriage, it was only natural for the two families, soon to be joined by marriage, to share a warm and loving lunch together at home.

「In the afternoon.」

Ruby Bluen and Marcel Horne went to register their marriage.

Although Marcel was injured and couldn’t return to his military post, he hadn’t officially been discharged from service. He firmly believed he would stand up again and return to his position.

"Marcel," Ruby sat beside him, continually serving him dishes, gently urging, "Eat some more."

"Ruby." Marcel’s resolute face was filled with happiness, his voice gentle. As Ruby placed another dish into his bowl, he lightly caught her hand, a faint smile on his lips. "I can do it myself." His foot might be injured, but his hands were still perfectly nimble.

Ruby leaned close to his ear, whispering softly, "I like taking care of you."

Marcel took the opportunity to rub his face against hers contentedly. The days spent recovering were actually quite enjoyable, as he could steal a kiss or a caress at any moment and see his beloved woman every day.
