Chapter 423: Chapter 423 Julia’s Might (4)_1

"These days, there sure are a lot of meddlers. Let go of me, or you’ll regret it! I’m telling you, I grew up with the big shot from the Mafia Society, Jonathan Allen. Just one phone call, and I could have you all thrown into the sea to feed the sharks!" Hugo Twilight warned arrogantly, even as Julia Bluen’s two undercover bodyguards apprehended him.

Julia Bluen smiled knowingly. So he has a powerful backer! No wonder he’s so arrogant.

Julia took out her phone and called Glades Horne. As soon as Glades answered, she asked for Jonathan Allen’s contact number. Glades, realizing she was in trouble, asked what was wrong and if she needed his support. Julia, however, merely said she needed Jonathan Allen to make an appearance as she had some questions for him, and she declined Glades’s offer of help.

Glades Horne gave her Jonathan Allen’s contact number.

She immediately called Jonathan Allen, stated her name, and instructed him to rush to the main store of Delicious Sweet Dumplings.

Upon hearing her introduce herself, all the waitstaff and Master Sweet Dumpling realized she was, in fact, their boss.

"CEO Julia, you must seek justice for Melissa!" Emily Clarke said angrily, pulling Melissa in front of Julia Bluen. Now that their own boss had arrived, they had even less reason to be afraid.

CEO Julia was none other than the beloved wife of Valence Group’s CEO and the city’s foremost young mistress. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

"Don’t worry," Julia said. "I actually enjoy meddling when it comes to injustice, and I love nothing more than cracking down on bullies who prey on the weak!" I feel like a police officer serving the people! Ah, it’s such a pity I didn’t go to the police academy, she thought. However, with my status, I definitely have the resources to take down these lowlifes.

"Besides, I won’t allow anyone to bully my employees!" Julia Bluen declared, her authoritative air strikingly similar to that of her husband.

After speaking, she turned to Emily Clarke to learn the true cause of the incident, as Melissa, with her timid nature, was certainly too scared to reveal the truth.

Hugo Twilight was the manager of a small factory. The three women with him were employees there: one was a manager, another a customs declaration officer, and the third a clerk. Notably, the female manager was the mistress of the factory’s owner. Because Melissa worked at Delicious Sweet Dumplings, her husband frequently brought people there to eat sweet dumplings and would leave without paying. The shop didn’t allow dine-and-dashing, so Melissa had no choice but to use her own salary to cover her husband’s bills.

But after she covered the bill once, it happened a second time, and then countless more.

Her husband had been her childhood sweetheart, but in reality, he only felt a brotherly affection for her; Melissa was the one deeply in love with him, and their parents had pressured them into marriage. Although they had a precious son after their marriage, Hugo Twilight felt no romantic affection for Melissa. Later, after becoming a factory manager, he began affairs with these three women. He would constantly bring them, or other managers from his factory, to Delicious Sweet Dumplings to eat without paying, thereby indirectly tormenting Melissa.

Hearing all this, the entire place was in an uproar. Everyone looked at Hugo Twilight with contempt. When the three women sensed the situation turning against them, they tried to leave, but the customers actually took it upon themselves to stop them.

When Hugo Twilight found out that Julia Bluen was the owner of Delicious Sweet Dumplings, his face had already turned pale.

He wanted to escape even more, but Julia’s two undercover bodyguards had him tightly restrained. He glared fiercely at his wife.

Melissa wanted to speak up for him, but Julia made a silencing gesture, forbidding her from pleading on Hugo Twilight’s behalf.

Jonathan Allen quickly arrived at the main store of Delicious Sweet Dumplings.

Upon seeing Julia Bluen, he rushed over with a broad smile. "Young Mistress, what’s wrong? What happened? Who’s been bullying you? Tell me, and I’ll teach those people a lesson."

Julia Bluen pointed with a mirthless smile at Hugo Twilight, who had suddenly gone limp on the ground. "Jonathan, this man claims to be your childhood friend. Take a look, is he really? If he is, you should have a word with him. He shouldn’t go around intimidating people using your reputation. As you know, these people can’t handle being intimidated. What if one of them has a heart attack from the fright? You’d be on the hook for compensation, you know."

Jonathan Allen turned to look at Hugo Twilight and instantly roared, "Young Mistress, I don’t know him at all! Damn it! How dare he claim to be my childhood friend, using my name to swindle people and tarnish my reputation!" With a swift motion of his large hand, SLAP! SLAP! He struck Hugo Twilight twice across the face.

Hugo Twilight, having been slapped, didn’t dare to show anger; he only stuttered as he begged for mercy. He had only heard of Jonathan Allen’s fearsome reputation; he didn’t actually know the man.

Julia Bluen showed no reaction.

Seeing her lack of response out of the corner of his eye, Jonathan Allen immediately slapped Hugo Twilight two more times.

The onlookers, especially the women, couldn’t help but cheer for Jonathan Allen. They felt that this irresponsible scumbag, a disgrace to men, deserved to have his arrogance beaten down and be thoroughly taught a lesson. It also served as a reminder that women weren’t to be trifled with.

CEO Bluen is truly formidable!

"CEO Bluen, please, I’m begging you..." Melissa’s heart ached for him.

Julia glared at her, frowning, and said in exasperation, "You still feel sorry for him? After how he’s treated you, you still pity him? Did he ever feel sorry for you? Even if your parents forced your marriage, since he married you, he should be responsible for you. Instead, he fools around outside and treats you like this... You... you’re the one who spoiled your man into becoming like this!"

Melissa was left speechless, overcome with shame.

CEO Bluen is right. My ordeal, everything I’ve suffered, it’s all my own fault. I’m the one who spoiled Hugo Twilight, allowing him to torment and hurt me so recklessly.

Julia Bluen glared again at Hugo Twilight, whose face was now swollen, and said coldly, "Do you even know what a wife is for? She’s someone you marry to cherish, pamper, and love, not someone you bring home to torment. Call me a meddler if you want, but let me warn you: if you ever treat one of my employees like this again, I’ll make sure you can’t even beg for food! I’ll have someone watching you!" The last sentence was a threat; she wouldn’t actually do it.

She generally disliked threatening people, but this time she felt it was necessary.

Her employee was too timid and clearly too in love with this man to consider divorce. Since they had to continue their life together, Julia could only try to help make her employee’s home life more peaceful, so her staff wouldn’t be troubled by domestic issues and could focus on working well for her.

Julia Bluen glanced at the three women and said indifferently, "We’re all women. Why make things difficult for one another? Put yourselves in her shoes; how would you feel?"

The three women turned as white as sheets, their lips trembling as they mumbled, too scared to speak.

Seeing that Julia Bluen had no intention of intervening further, Jonathan Allen grabbed Hugo Twilight by the collar, brought his somewhat terrifying face close, and said coldly, "Did you hear what the Young Mistress said? If it weren’t for the fact that you’re the husband of one of the Young Mistress’s employees, I’d have had you chopped into eighteen pieces for ruining my reputation! From now on, treat your wife better. If your wife’s work is affected because of you again, don’t blame me for being ruthless! SCRAM!"

Hugo Twilight nodded repeatedly. Receiving this implied pardon, he scrambled to his feet and bolted.

"Wait! Settle the bill first!" Julia Bluen commanded coldly.

Hugo Twilight didn’t dare to resist. He hastily pulled 240 yuan from his wallet and then scurried off with the three women in tow, utterly disgraced.

With the matter settled, Julia Bluen had all the waitstaff gather for an immediate meeting. She announced that, starting that day, no one was to use their salary to cover the cost of sweet dumplings for friends or family, to prevent anyone else from becoming as brazen and entitled as Hugo Twilight.
